- On Sep 16 was the day i did not expect a whole lot of college kids to show up to see The Lion King in 3D. It was my first time seeing this movie in theaters, cause as a kid i never got to see this in theaters. So that night i relived my childhood life and i gotta tell ya, it was a fun sing a-long.

I got goosebumps when they started singing along to Hakuna Matata, I love when an audience has this much energy!
I also loved when everyone cheered along with Rafiki when Simba said he's going back
It's funny because there are mostly likely no kids there and it's just a bunch of nostalgic adults in thier 20's and early 30's

Usually I can't STAND it when people are noisy during a movie! But The Lion King is my favourite film, and I would have actually loved it if the people who saw this 3D release with me; were this loudly passionate about it! Listening to these people cheer and having such a great time watching a film I love so much; makes me so happy! :)

Everyone in that audience has already watched the movie many times guaranteed. They are there to share this experience with everyone.
Speaking as a American who use to go to the movies litterally every weekend, the lion king is a beloved movie and made a impact on the 30s who are mostly watching it so there happy and excited. A lot of them probably haven't seen it for awhile and nostalgia is hitting them especially with the opening.so they clap.

I remember seeing this back in 2011 when it was rereleased. It was exactly like this. EVERYBODY was quoting the lines, singing and clapping along with the songs. By far the BEST experience I have ever had in a movie theater.

A great Disney film that people still love to this day gets re-released in 3D and everybody is merrily singing along to the movie.
This is something I wish Walt could see.
To be honest, I think that ever since Walt started to make animated movies, what we saw in the video was one of the many things that Walt actually wanted to not only see, but at least accomplished. Bet on 09/16/11, he was crying tears of joy in heaven over this.

Be Prepared was egh. I never liked it as a child but Now that I look back? It made sense and was definitely one of the most importants songs in the movie compared to "I just can't wait to be king."

I remember seeing this in the movie when it was rereleased. A bunch of us were crying at Mufasa’s death. One of the two kids in the audience asked “did he die?”
I still remember everyone is so enjoy, cry during the movie playing. When the movie finish everyone is clapping! This movie is the best Disney anime movie in history.

I find that beautiful. When we were kids we loved it and we thought that lick scene was just a kiss. But now we are older and we still enjoy it just the same as when we were kids, even more. And we are older now so those mature moments are more special to us

I don't know about that. Frozen got a lot of very positive reception (even from adults) which translated to making it become the highest grossing animated film of all time over Lion King, when 2014 came.
But as a Lion King fan, it didn't bother me. Because money doesn't determine how good a film really is.
Frozen will be a classic imo, but The Lion King will always be THE classic.

I remember I went to this back when I was younger and the theater was PACKED, I wish they would release it again!

I went to see this movie in 3D as well, and...yes...I ABSOLUTELY DID sing along to the movie! It was fun! My favorite scenes are "Circle of life" "hakuna matata" and "can you feel the love tonight"! It was also my 1st time seeing the lion king on the big screen. But it's better seeing reactions to the film.
Actually those three songs were nominated for best original song in 1995

I was a sophomore in high school when this came out, and I went to see it with my grandma. The reactions weren't quite like this, but there was (as far as I can tell): cheering at the end of Circle of Life and end of movie, hand clapping with Hakuna Matata, and laughs from the Mr. Pig scene and the scene where Simba and Nala reunited (that part with Timon's jaw dropping in shock-the whole audience just exploded in laughter). Every seat was taken, and I there was only around 6 kids who were little-most were high school and college aged.

I hope Disney has another limited engagement with this film before they release The Lion King (2019). It totally makes sense because it'll be the 25th Anniversary of The Lion King (1994).

Disney is going to release The Lion King back in theaters for the 30th anniversary celebration on July 12th!! Time to relive our childhoods again after 30 years since its first released and became Disney's worldwide phenomenon!! The King has returned!!
