    Thank you for saving me a lot of money since you let me discover Mobiflight.
    Now I don't have to pay $1250 + $99 a year for Prosim. I can connect my 737 with Arduinos and PMDG instead. Your explanations are great btw.

      Hello,
      I added this to my list, but the video won't happen for a long time.
      Refer to this video about the Airspeed indicator, and then apply the concepts to your airspeed indicator.
      Most people use stepper motors for Flaps Gauges though, because they have more travel.

      You will need arduino IDE and MobiFlight.
      I have created a video on how to link them here:
      th-cam.com/video/4XUoG1BAWPs/w-d-xo.html
      Sebastian from MobiFlight made this video:
      th-cam.com/video/RdJUejJ-o9o/w-d-xo.html
      Once you have arduino IDE you will link them under Extras, Settings, MobiFlight Modules, Path to Arduino IDE.
      I hope this helps,
      "Captian Bob"
      Necesitará Arduino IDE y MobiFlight.
      He creado un video sobre cómo vincularlos aquí:

      Sebastian de MobiFlight hizo este video:

      Una vez que tenga el IDE de Arduino, los vinculará en Extras, Settings, MobiFlight Modules, Path to Arduino IDE.

    i try to create my dynamic simulator with cylinder and i need the movement of the plane specificly when it is windy i need that effect of the wind to the plane to transform it to the cylinder ... our help please and thanks

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just to clarify: You want to have the cylinder follow the direction the wind is going?
      If so you can use offset: 04DA (Size in bytes 2)
      Surface layer wind direction, *360/65536 to get degrees MAGNETIC. This may be different to the current wind direction at the aircraft-see offset 0E92.
      Since this is *360/65536 the heading, you'd have to make the transformation ($*65536)/360

    Hi bob :) can you please make a tutorial how to set up a flap lever for the c172 with a potentiometer with mobiflight. I ordered one from simmax but i couldnt find a solution how to make it work. would be awesome if you also include the servo settings for the position feedback. Thanks

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello again! I've decided to only make general top-level tutorials and specific tutorials for things I make things in the simulator.
      I have the top-level potentiometer tutorial on my list of things to do.
      For now: The MobiFlight GitHub has an excellent tutorial here: github.com/Mobiflight/MobiFlight-Connector/wiki/Example-Analog-Input-Potentiometer
      Thank you for your question, and let me know how I can help!
      Use offset: 0BDC 4 Flaps control, 0=up, 16383=full. (or FS2020 WASM Equivalent)
      I'd recommend using a 4 position rotary switch for flaps - these have detents with a much simpler solution.

      @@CaptainBobSim Thank You for fast response to my issue. In new software/update to mobiflight I have three sim variables on the main page, Simconnect..Mobiflight..and fsuipc. The only time I get a running flight sim value in the chart is when I use the simconnect option, I do not have anything showing in the output value column. It is about 10 knots difference from the actual indicated airspeed. I am using the 02bc offset. I do not know if I can show you screen shots to help explain. Am new to this part of things and have been watching a lot of vids to help figure things out and yours have gotten me so close I know I am probably a mouse click away from tackling this. Everything is now working after adding fsuipc, misunderstood about mobiflight not needing it for fs2020. I have worked with stepper and servos and all works great. One question is how are you getting more than 180 degree movement out of the servos? Are the gears that you have in the 3d printed items making that possible?

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MobiFlight is only compatible with the Arduino Mega 2650 (and Clones). Other Arduinos are not yet supported. You can connect multiple servos to the board. Use the same steps for adding the first servo. There are 3 5V pins, and 3 GND pins per Arduino Mega, so without using a breadboard you can use three servos. Once you get over 1 servo I would reccomend using external power with the arduino.

      @@hashimiqbal6822 If you don't use external power (5V cable) there is a much higher chance that you will go over the power delivered through the USB cord. Not having this cord could kill your Arduino (It broke an arduino this way)
      As for the 182:
      C182 Measurements are very similar to C172 Measurements, the C182 seems to be 2" (~5cm) bigger.
      The C182 cabin width is 42" (106.8 cm)
      I have a C172 panel printout you can scale up to 105% to get a C182 panel.

      (Dowload the PDF, and make sure you have Adobe, when you print, print on poster, with 105 size)

      You could also use a 9V battery with an adapter. www.emartee.com/Images/websites/emartee.com/arduino_battery_adapter_2.png
      The materials for the panel are mostly preferences of what people like to work with.
      I am a woodworker, so I like to make mine out of plywood. Some people like plastic (But it is weak, so you will need support. There are also other choices like metal and foam.
      I would go with wood if this is your first homecockpit. It is fairly easy to work with (You could do the entire panel with just a jigsaw, skill saw, and drill) and it is fairly cheap ($35/sheet). I am using 3/8" birch plywood.
      Don't go too cheap on the plywood. OSB and Construction plywood look bad for a panel.
