Zoom Horny Toad In Early Fall

I'm in my NuCanoe U10 on a small lake in Michigan. It's late september and fall is definitely in the air.
The "Zoom Horny Toad" gets a bad rap! It's one of my favorite topwater baits for all year but for me, they really shine in the early fall.
I rig it with a Gamakatsu Heavy Gauge 5/0 Hook. Theses hooks keep the toad running true. Heavy Gauge is very important. I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks so much for watching.

I didn’t throw the toad at all this year. I spent a lot of time chasing Smallies.
I had a lot of success, but I also had a lot of failures.
Next year I’m targeting more largemouth. Got a nice broomstick for frog and toad fishing that I’m excited to use.
That first one was nice. Pretty cool to see those baitfish blowing up.
I thought I was witnessing that on Friday…until I realized that it was actually cormorants in the trees with their explosive diarrhea raining down and almost hitting me 😂

😂😂 Thanks Bryan! That’s the weekend I was telling you about! Otter Lake. This is gonna be my new favorite inland lakes for a while.
There’s a beautiful creek that leads to another smaller lake with big bluegills!
