    It's very nice, but what you don't say and show is that once you start using Divi Theme Builder you are stuck with it. You cannot edit your post in visual builder anymore, while it is where you have more flexibility. That's the word! With Divi Theme Builder there is no more flexibility but it looks great. You cannot add dividers between the sections of the template for example. So it's very nice but it's very restricting. That is from experience. It does not change that your videos are really helpful. Thank you for that.

    Does this add a sidebar to all pages or only blog posts?

  • @jpb6755

    For f.. sake... I've been spending hours now figuring out this sidebar mystery - to no avail!
    What I want is to have a custom-designed sidebar that shows automatically at all of my:
    - blog pages
    - category pages
    - posts
    Surely this must be a pretty common use case and there must be a way to this, but with this video you basically have a custom sidebar wiping out the entire post! Blank screen and a side bar. What the hell is the point then??
    EDIT: figured out that this tut really has to be combined with this one: th-cam.com/video/hSDtlO4OLP8/w-d-xo.html Do that and you're not dealing with empty pages... makes sense of if get the logic behind Divi but for beginners this can take a while to find out.

      th-cam.com/video/hSDtlO4OLP8/w-d-xo.html --> check out this tutorial. Basically by just applying a sidebar as global template your pages show just that. You have to build post / category / blog templates as well, with the dynamic content functionality.

    The content disappears in your video when you saved, just as it does on my... how do you keep the content from disappearing? This question has been asked several times but not answered. Kinda a big deal, the tutorial on ET doesn't answer the question either... shows adding a blog grid, but not the post itself.

      in my case, it worked by adding the "content post" module on the left of the row with the sidebar, in the theme. when back to the site every page has its own content.

    • @PylonDesign
      @PylonDesign 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidesgalletta6391 That's correct Davide. And you can style all the elements within the Post Content module and these will override whatever the post author puts in place, thereby allowing you total control over the aesthetic and maintaining consistency. Can't understand why ET don't reply to these comments....

  • @hayleymorgan
    @hayleymorgan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the builder is great, it gives you so much more flexibility as you can just make change across the whole site instead of editing every post. However the side bar in the builder is a real sticking point for me because you are forced to place it in a module which takes space away from the content making it all squished. it should be made possible to have the sidebar like on the home page that shows on all the posts but doesn't affect the content on the post in anyway. its so frustrating.

    "Missing Post Content Module"
    This is ridiculous. It should never be THIS user-unfriendly to add a simple side bar globally.
    If anyone knows of a user-friendly theme, PLEASE let me know. I've had this theme for 7 years and I've had enough. Although great for a couple styles, it's worthless beyond that.
