  • WHO's Covid report, detailed considered appraisal.
    www.who.int/health-topics/cor...
    The mission
Joint international team, 17 Chinese and 17 international experts
14 January to 10 February 2021 in Wuhan
    Prevent reinfection, animals and humans
Prevent establishment of new zoonotic reservoirs, mink, cats
    Timeline
Outbreak may have started sometime in the months before the middle of December 2019
    (Based on molecular sequence data)
Circulation of SARS-CoV-2 preceded the initial detection of cases by several weeks.
Virus transmission widespread in Wuhan by the first week of 2020
Epidemic in Wuhan preceded the spread in the rest of Hubei Province
174 COVID-19 cases with onset of symptoms in December 2019
8th December 2019, first official case
76,000 ‘cases’ from October and November unlikely
    Genomics
Huanan market, at the point of its closing, 923 environmental samples, 73 samples were positive
Widespread contamination of surfaces with SARS-CoV-2
Huanan market cluster had identical virus genomes
Other genomes were also discovered from December / January
Upstream suppliers to the Huanan market taken during 2020, no evidence of SARS-CoV-2 circulating in animals
Initial cases associated with Huanan market, other markets and no markets
Coronaviruses most highly related to SARS-CoV-2 found in bats and pangolins
None sufficiently similar to SARS-CoV-2 to serve as its direct progenitor
Sampling before and after the outbreak
80 000 wildlife, livestock and poultry samples collected, 31 provinces in China
No positive result for SARS-CoV-2 antibody or nucleic acid
    Cold chains
Cold chain products, not tested at the time
Confirmed international transmission in cold chains
    Four conclusions
    Qualitative risk assessment
Direct zoonotic spillover is considered to be a possible-to-likely pathway
Introduction through an intermediate host is considered to be a likely to very likely pathway
Introduction through cold/ food chain products is considered a possible pathway
Introduction through a laboratory incident was considered to be an extremely unlikely pathway
    Next phase
Widespread testing of domestic and wild animals
Rhinolophus bats, southern provinces of China, countries around East Asia, South-East Asia and any other regions
    More cold chain analysis
Positive results in sewage, serum, human or animal tissues/swab and other SARS-CoV-2 test by the end of 2019
    Convene a global expert group
    www.who.int/director-general/...
    www.theguardian.com/world/202...
US, UK, Australia, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Republic of Korea, Slovenia, Statement
It is equally essential that we voice our shared concerns
that the international expert study on the source of the Sars-Cov-2 virus was significantly delayed
and lacked access to complete, original data and samples
While regretting the late start of the study, the delayed deployment of the experts and the limited availability of early samples and related data,
we consider the work carried out to date and the report released today as a helpful first step
EU statement also called on all relevant authorities to help with the next stages
So that any gaps in data needed to further the investigation can be addressed
Called for timely access for independent experts early in future pandemics
Access to China after months of fraught negotiations
    White House
No space for this section in YT comments, descriptions are of limited length.
    Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
In my discussions with the team, they expressed the difficulties they encountered in accessing raw data
I expect future collaborative studies to include more timely and comprehensive data sharing
Scientists would benefit from full access to data including biological samples from at least September 2019
I concur with the team’s conclusion that farmers, suppliers and their contacts will need to be interviewed
Team also visited several laboratories in Wuhan and considered the possibility that the virus entered the human population as a result of a laboratory incident.
However, I do not believe that this assessment was extensive enough.
Further data and studies will be needed to reach more robust conclusions.
Let me say clearly that as far as WHO is concerned all hypotheses remain on the table.
Although the team has concluded that a laboratory leak is the least likely hypothesis, this requires further investigation, potentially with additional missions involving specialist experts, which I am ready to deploy
This report is a very important beginning, but it is not the end.

I have family from Wuhan - it started in August 2019 and people thought it was a bad flu. Once the locals realised so many people were dying - rumours spread around locals that something leaked from the lab.
The theory with locals there (which the CCP punishes, silences and threatens locals if they speak out) is that a laboratory worker didn't decontaminate correctly before leaving the lab and went to the wet markets located in the arts district to get some dinner and spread it to surfaces there which infected the locals. Hence why a patient zero was purported to be a lady in her 50s who worked in the wet markets
Also this is hidden by the CCP again - they had moving crematoriums behind hospitals to cover up the true death counts. Locals who were trying to speak out and warn others had their doors on their apartments welded shut and also with many of the sick and dying - they also had doors welded shut to stop the spread.
There is so much the world doesn't know and my comments keep get deleted by TH-cam when I try to explain the experiences of the Wuhan locals during the beginning of this pandemic.
The report by the WHO is a CCP narrative which Tedros will keep pushing because he has millions of $$ tied up in business dealings in China and is a firm supporter of the communist party both in China and Ethiopia

They were CLONED from SARS 1 COVID, the origonal 2003 SARS. They altered them more and more each year, creating a multitude of variants, with these WIV numbered SARS 2 covids being within a 95% match of the initial sars phages that emerged in early 2000 that wee tested. The WIV inserted rna from a horseshoe bat covid into their WIV covids, and, created the SARS 2 covid frankenstein. please, DO THE RESEARCH.

@@SpectatorAlius Yes, why putting bat shit in your eyes would improve your vision is as much beyond me as why rinsing your lungs with chlorox would treat the virus. Sadly reason and common sense is in as much short supply in China as in the rest of the world.
The smoking gun is that the late Dr Li Wenliang who blew the whistle on Covid was the Wuhan Hospital opthamologist taking care of eye infections.
In my view TCM, most likely ye Ming Sha, carried the disease from bats into the human population possibly through a dodgy batch of material used by one or more susceptible individuals. They contracted eye infections and were treated at Wuhan Hospital. The disease likely spread from these individuals through the hospital and through others they contacted.
If I had an eye problem putting bat shit in my eyes is the last thing I would do metaphorically as well as most likely literally. It is simply not a good idea. Sadly however, many people think it is.
It seems the guano trade for ye ming sha extends back to northern Thailand, I have heard reports I can't substantiate about deaths involving people in this trade that might be attributed to Covid.
If you want to find out more Google: ye Ming Sha and check out writings by Debora Mackenzie of New Scientist, she has been hot on the trail.

Secondly the Chinese government had to approve the report and we all know how open they are in sharing information. The potential of more serious or more contagious future pandemics vs the cavalier attitude of so many people in North America with a pandemic that is relatively mild. If people can't adapt their lifestyle to responsibly wear masks and social distance as well as educate themselves, a more serious/contagious pandemic means people are as much of a threat as the virus.

In NYC birds, turtles, snakes are all sold alive and slaughtered at time of purchase. This also true of fish & crustacians. Once offered bears feet. The fish (i had a commercial business yrs ago) are often shorts (by catch?) And a fresh dead fish is better. A small red substance is placed in the gills to prolong life. Fushermen get a premium for live fish. Also be very careful buying lobsters unless you know the vendor if they are kept in small tanks and their meat has the consistency of bubble gum (their fat burned off in the smalk tank). Also the blue claw crabs are often pregnant females that some unscrupulous person has scraped off the eggs. They are fresh & illegal. Lobsters sold on ice, still alive are usually fine. Plenty of food, eithrr live or by orrer (lamb for example) is also sold in NYC. This problem is not a Chinese problem. Many communities eat slaughtered food.

As inconvenient as they are, draconian quarantine measures are necessary to stop a new disease. If we had taken these measures, especially stopping international passenger travel, they would have been over in a month, instead of dragging out for more than a year now.

  • @paulbork7647

Thank you, again, John for this video. You are quite welcome on a screen in my home, today. => Given the WHO bowing to CCP desires, perhaps one reads the report with some concern for pro-CCP and anti-World bias. => If one were evaluating this data with a fair consideration of the potential possibility that this was released from the Wuhan research lab, knowing any genetic shift analysis would only estimate the number of replication since the last common ancestor, if more than one virus strain was released (perhaps at different times, maybe even months apart), the shift would not be a good estimate of any release date. Similarly, if more than one jump to humans occurred, such genetic shift information, again, would be useless to estimate when humans were infected. The pity is with this genetic shift tool at least questioned, there isn’t a good way to estimate the first human infection date from examining viruses. => One would like to see computer search information to confirm when virus spread reached the search detection threshold. => From the curve at 7:46, it wouldn’t take much to curve fit an exponential curve to get an estimate when the first case occurred. Early on there were no restraining measures nor immunity, so one might well expect a mostly pure exponential curve. Eyeballing this would suggest a start sometime about the 33 week. One sees perhaps the political intervention to reduce cases with the inflection or deviation from exponential rise about week 50. => Agree there are some things about effectiveness in preventing pandemics. One needs not to embrace the disregard for the truth, accurate reporting, taking political advantage of other countries and perhaps sacrificing minorities. Like any country, there are good and poor examples. One needs to learn, but learning in a manner where one will discriminate between good examples and poor examples. => Seems right to me that it is significant that suppliers to Wuhan were not the source, else one would expect multiple outbreaks in other areas where the Wuhan suppliers also served. => Pondering the lack of finding a direct progenitor in bats or pangolins might lead one to decide that this might not be a new human coronavirus. It could have crossed to humans and had a very low transmissibility, slowly moving in small numbers, across whatever human population(s) it was active amongst. The virulence would be irrelevant, as ones and twos would not be noticed under the millions from influenza, across the world. Then, just like the Kent variant, a mutation just happens to trigger a jump in transmissibility to near notice levels. A few more mutations, generating the different strains found reported, then one jumps into the Wuhan, Hubei, China originated variant, of which we are all aware. => Not sure, at all, but doesn’t this seem to fit the facts? => If one finds SARS-CoV-2 in local bats in some area, how can one be sure it wasn’t an infected person, early in the pandemic, which infected the bat? One can look at the variation, but things will be hard to see after so Lang and lack of tracking of genotypes in the Asia area. => One might see Dr Ted’s statement about timeliness and access is addressing the next pandemic, so the partial by China received won’t be there for the next time, even if it is China again. => Surprisingly positive. I started with extremely low expectations. The were exceeded by the report. => Thanks again John, for all you do and who you are.

@Paul Bork right from the minute they admitted to calling this SARS-CoV2 I had doubts to this being a new virus, but a mutated one. They "say" they had SARS1 controlled back on 2003, but exactly how true could that be when we both know that not all countries have quality labs or Doctors trained in knowing what they are truly dealing with. This could have been flying under the radar for years until it morphed with Coronaviruses ripe for the picking?
We had SARS1 hit our Canadian shores back then and I was scared it would get to our Province. At the time they said no cases were found to be in the West and that it was contained, only to find out that there were cases in neighboring Provinces back then...and they expect us to trust them now? I think they are back pedalling because they know they screwed up back then and here we sit.
PS...my Friend has been transferred to her Provinces University Hospital..it's looking bad. Her O2 sats are at 50 and she's going straight to OR...don't really know what they are doing to her in there? Would it be to "tube" her? I begged her sister, also my Friend to fight hard for the Dr's to acknowledge the I-Mask protocol and to at least read the papers, before it too late. Kudos to Dr John I am amazed and full of admiration that I cant give to the authors of this paper.
They claim credit for what is not their work and come up with conclusions that defy science and common sense.
This report is brilliant for the work, hard work of the Chinese government which the team have had handed on a plate.
I note very early on they try to claim it is their work.
Faced with the knowledge this dates back to September or October 2019 they are close to lying to maintain a start of December or even November 2019.
They dismiss a lab leak on the basis of not even looking properly.
They are transfixed on an outbreak at the market forgetting this area is where the USA military were housed in October.
They claim a zoonotic origin proved on the basis of no evidence except the contrary.
Their hypothesis is too simple even for an eight year old.
Again kudos to them for collecting data.
But -10 out a 100 for doing anything with it.
They do claim a look elsewhere and earlier right at the start but who is going to do this?
The WHO themselves are beginning to think an origin elsewhere but not their representatives we see.
They dismiss RNA evidence for earlier outbreaks. An amazing denial of science.
They would be claiming finger printing is useless by their stupidity.
    I am outraged.

John, seriously, what value is the WHO report? It's entirely retrospective, after-the-fact. We knew virtually every fact in this report months ago. The WHO played along with the Chinese - they did their bidding for them. Remember them telling us not to cancel air travel - in March? And do you remember how, slowly but surely, their actions ran up against your good nature, your wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, until it was so obvious these crooks had acted in bad faith? There is nothing new or illuminating in this report. The Chinese executed a cover-up. They didn't allow the WHO or any other medical/scientific teams into Wuhan. Their own doctors alerted people early on until they were squelched by their own government. Taiwan knew what was going on because the Wuhan doctors got the word to them to save their relatives there. The WHO writes a report in March of 2021, 15 months after the mess is cleaned up. The wet market origin: Bullshit. The pangolin origin: More bullshit. To date, not a single animal reservoir of the virus has been found, and this is touted as good news? It means the virus did not come from caves in Yunnan province or anything like it. That lab, in Wuhan, was the world focal point of coronavirus research and had focused its research on improving the ability of coronavirus ability for direct infection of the human ACE-2 receptor sites, including recombinant, GOF Frankenstein versions that they published scientific papers on and were warned by the world community to stop creating. Who cares about a bunch of post-facto bullshit from the WHO. Remember Tedros, on January 14th, stated "No clear evidence of human-to-human transmission" when there were hundreds of infected people dying in Wuhan at the time and every doctor on the ground there knew this was the case, as did the Chinese government. The whole bit about frozen food transmission is a ruse, a red herring, complete bullshit. Tedros' "I expect more timely data" and all the subsequent bullcrap he spews, are the words of a manipulative, lying weasel, who should face a firing squad. 2.81 million deaths, from that lab, and for a billion a year the WHO gives us a 120-page collection of crap we already knew. Fire these bums, bring Tedros to Gitmo, and find out what really happened in that lab. 2.81 million deaths. 2.81 million.

[..] PHE’s evaluation of the Innova test showed that its sensitivity was 79.2% when used by trained laboratory scientists, 73% when used by trained healthcare staff, but only 57.5% when used by track and trace centre staff employed by the pharmacy chain Boots. But performance should improve with experience. [..] A recent evaluation of data from a quarter of million people who had participated in the NHS Test and Trace programme, [..] indicated that the tests would detect up to 90% of the infections that individuals passed on."

(Published 19 March 2021) "What proportion of positive LFT results are likely to be false? In short, this is unknown. A 2020 analysis by Public Heath England and the University of Oxford, led by Peto, estimated the specificity of the Innova LFT at 99.68%.9 A more recent analysis, published in March and using data from the test in active use by NHS Test and Trace, estimated a specificity of 99.97%. This is based on data collected at a time when prevalence of infection was high (8.7%). Deeks says that at a lower prevalence (0.5%), around half of positive tests would be false positives, 'which would indicate that half of the children, teachers, families, and their bubbles being asked to isolate this week are doing so unnecessarily'."

@@theopeterbroers819 At the lower figure of 99.68%, specificity, what Deek says checks out. 40%+ false discovery rate at 0.5% virus prevalence. At the higher figure of 99.97% specificity, the false discovery rate would be around 6% at 0.5% prevalence, and would not go over 50% until prevalence drops below 0.03%.

I am one of your earliest followers and so deeply grateful for your expertise and perseverance in explaining the Covid pandemic. Today's video is one of your best and demonstrates your evenhandedness, eye popping teaching skills and generosity in explaining this very important report. Your work is much more reliable than the major US media outlets. I can never thank you enough for all that you have done and continue to do.

Interesting video, especially on the timeline.
I am convinced that the Wuhan Military Games, which concluded at the end of October in 2019, is an important factor.
Over 9000 Fit and healthy athletes from over 130 countries in one place at one time, all heading home at the end of October 2019
What a perfect opportunity to start a global pandemic if one were so-minded...
This is too much of a coincidence to ignore...

What do you think about the Astra Zeneca vaccine being stopped for young people in Canada and anyone under 60 in Germany, considering just two weeks ago you reported that Astra Zeneca reported that they were seeing no adverse effects for any age group or country?

Germany researchers have done a study here read.
Background. Vaccines are important for managing the COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2. However, following widespread vaccination using a recombinant adenoviral vector encoding the spike protein antigen of SARS-CoV-2 (AZD1222, AstraZeneca), reports have emerged of some vaccine recipients developing unusual thrombotic events and thrombocytopenia. We investigated whether such patients could have a prothrombotic disorder caused by platelet-activating antibodies directed against platelet factor 4 (PF4), as is known to be caused by heparin and sometimes other environmental triggers.
Methods. We summarized the clinical and laboratory features of 9 patients in Germany and Austria who developed thrombosis and thrombocytopenia events following AZD1222 vaccination. Serum from four patients was used to test for anti-PF4/heparin antibodies, both by immunoassay and by platelet activation assays performed in the presence of heparin, PF4, or both.
Results. The 9 patients (8 female; median age, 36 [range, 22-49) presented with thrombosis beginning 4 to 16 days post-vaccination: 7 patients had cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), 1 had pulmonary embolism, and 1 had splanchnic vein thrombosis and CVT; 4 patients died. None had received heparin prior to symptom onset. All four patients tested strongly positive for anti-PF4/heparin antibodies by immunoassay; all 4 patients tested strongly positive in the platelet activation assay in the presence of PF4 independently of heparin. Platelet activation was inhibited by high concentrations of heparin, Fc receptor-blocking monoclonal antibody, and intravenous immunoglobulin.
Conclusions. The AZD1222 vaccine is associated with development of a prothrombotic disorder that clinically resembles heparin-induced thrombocytopenia but which shows a different serological profile.
RESULTS: All four patients showed strong reactivity in the PF4/heparin enzyme-immunoassay with optical densities greater than 3.00 units (reference value,

I have no doubt he will do a video on that when the Lancet publish and its been peer reviewed - the info from the German scientists only came out as a paper yesterday, and I think other scientists and medics are likely looking and investigating as we speak... I did notice the MHRA advice has changed - they now say (to the general public) if you have a headache for up to 4 days after the AZ jab, or experience bruising over the body, see a doctor asap.... Dr. Been on youtube had a video on this yesterday Whats really strange is the UK has, at at 20th March, only seen 5 cases of cerebral sinus vascular clotting, all were in men and one man has died out of the millions of jabs given. But in the EU, they have done fewer vaccinations and seen more cases, but in mostly in women... its all a bit odd.
