    Why was Jeremiah told not to put it in water? Love your studies

      Thanks for the question. Jeremiah was told the loincloth represented a stubborn and prideful Judah (Vs. 8-11). They refused to cleanse themselves before God and do what He commanded. Thus they were dirty, like the loincloth, and going to spoil, like the loincloth. Thus the command not to put it in water was to allow it to get to the state the heart of Judah was - dirty and spoiled.
