    I think with this approach (updating their app, trying to give as much as possible at a price point instead cutting features out intentionally), their next gen watches, Apex 3 and Pace 3 will be killer.

    • @chrisguess

      I agree they are definitely on to something

    Do you have to manually go into the Coros app after every run to make sure data for that activity has uploaded (and thus uploaded to Strava) unlike an Apple Watch which would just automatically upload once connected to your phone?

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No the uploads are automatic, although you can sync manually if you wish. In my experience the sync is pretty quick even I’d you have been away from your phone, as soon as you are back in range the sync will begin.

  • @jaredyounger9085
    @jaredyounger9085 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Awesome video.. does anyone know if you have to run with the iphone? or will your watch hold the data and sync to the app once you get back to your phone?

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, no need to run with the phone, the watch will sync back just as you suggested. I don’t run with my phone.

    Great info, thanks! I'm an older runner, so I need to track my heart rate closely. Are there alarms? E.g. Max heart rate &c? And can any of the info be printed out (to show my GP)? Thanks!

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes alerts can be set up for heart rate max, min and average. As for printing it out, you can export the data to CSV and then send it to your computer and print it out from there. This is the raw data only not the graphs, but you could use that data to generate similar ones.

    Hi, is it possible to enter the gear used during the activity? For example a specific type of shoes in order to track the mileage of the shoes in time? Many thanks

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it is you can add shoes and bikes as well as create custom gear. You can even set gear to be added by default to certain activities. Say you always run in the same shoes, you can set them to be automatically added to running so you don’t have to do it each time. You manage your gear in settings and can add and edit under each activity.
      Maybe this would make a good video 🤔…

      @@chrisguess Many thanks. That's very useful. My son's running is getting more serious now (he's currently using Amazfit gtr2e which is quite limited/inaccurate when it comes to running) so I'm very undecided between the Coros P2 and Garmin 245 (I've also watched your comparison/score video of the two watches). Garmin heavily discounted at the moment (also on the official Garmin website...maybe a new version out in the next few months) but the battery of the P2 is a very big incentive. I'll have to make my mind up. Many thanks for your very detailed and comprehensive reviews (I've just subscribed).

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Well you can see your total activity time and your elapsed time and work it out from there, but no separate metrics for it.

  • @alphatrills
    @alphatrills 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    please be honest
    is the sleep tracking any good ?
    I have seen 40$ Bands having a great accuracy for sleep tracking
    is this good for sleep tracking or just for running ?

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sleep tracking seems fairly reliable, giving you deep & light sleep, awake time, total sleep time, HR range and average HR. It’s difficult to really know how accurate a device is for sleep and I haven’t extensively tested this device specifically for sleep tracking but I was happy with the data.

    Hi Chris .. great review .. QQ can you connect a Garmin HR monitor to the watch and if so will it show the running dynamics in the Coros app i.e. stride length, ground contact etc or is that proprietary to Garmin devices. Thanks

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can connect ant+ accessories, but I’m not sure what metrics it will show in the app. Obviously HR will show but not sure if it will pick up the same as the COROS pod?

    Hello! Do you or anyone know if you can access the Coros app on a desktop computer/web browser? I just hate doing stuff like this on my phone.

      As far as I'm aware there is no web interface at this stage. You would be better off with the Garmin if that's a deal breaker for you.

    Question: I don't have my Coros watch with me and want to track upcoming run directly with the phone. Does the Coros phone App enable directly tracking or do I need to use a 3rd party app (eg Asic Runkeeper) and patch the info to Coros App afterwards?

    I am waiting for my Pace 2 to arrive in a couple of days. A dumb question: after you loaded a workout session to the watch, how do you interact with the watch to complete the workout on the track?

  • @ferti385
    @ferti385 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey just wondering does the coros line of wearables/app show your entire calories burnt for the day or just the active calories (from a workout) I have a Huawei watch and was extremely frustrated when I bought it to find out it only shows your active calories burnt from a workout. There is no way to find out your total calorie expenditure taking into account your steps and resting calories, sitting at work etc throughout the whole day. Thanks!

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes they do, you actually get a half-hourly graph in the app and on the watch itself.

    Hi Chris, I am a bit confused with Night mode and Gesture Backlight on my Pace 2. I would like my watch turn off all lights on the display ( pitch black) during my night mode, say 10 PM TO 6 AM. But I don't have that option of giving a window for night mode. Regarding the Gesture Backlight , there is no option of turning off lights during Night mode. There's either OFF or ALL DAY or AUTO ( to keep light on) from sunset through sunrise, What exactly I wanted is a Window for Turning all lights off during my bed time!! Thank you

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  ปีที่แล้ว

      In short no. If you watch my pace 2 review this is my exact frustration. The backlight just doesn’t work how I want it to.

    Since the optical heart rate sensor is not very accurate, I was wondering whether I can connect a chest heart rate sensor to the Pace 2 and get the reading on the watch?

      Yes you can, it has Ant+ and Bluetooth so can connect to a few different ones.

    One of the best videos, thanks! I own an Apex Pro since yesterday so I am trying to learn.
    Question: is it possible to see the average pace of my total runs over, for example, the past month?

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a look and I don’t think so, you can see distance, time and number of runs but it doesn’t give you the average pace unfortunately, but you could work it out.

  • @rhnmtn
    @rhnmtn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, thanks for the walk through! Current situation is that I use a Garmin watch, sync to Garmin Connect, write notes for my workouts and the coach sees and interprets them. Now that I have decided to buy Pace 2, how can I share my workouts with my coach? If there is no portal for others to see my workouts, is it posisble to sync workouts in Coros with Garmin Connect? I hope I will not have to export and import them to Garmin Connect manually...

    Does the App download separately tracked activities from 3rd party apps and put them in the Activities tab? For instance a bike ride recorded with a Wahoo and uploaded to Strava...

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest I'm not sure about that but I doubt it, unless the device is compatible with a Garmin device like HR strap in that case it would. Does Wahoo connect to a Garmin device?

    • @danielbum912
      @danielbum912 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chrisguess it doesn't, but what I'm looking for is for it to download from a 3rd Party _that both can connect to._ Funnily enough my otherwise rubbish Fitbit downloads all my Wahoo-tracked bike rides from Strava and displays them in the activity log in the Fitbit app.. that's what I want - but with a less rubbish watch, like a Coros. If I get a Coros but all my activities are scattered across different apps/services that's rubbish too IMO...

    Excellent, just the video I was looking for. Perhaps I've just been a bit dumb, but so far I've been less than impressed by coros's user guides. I'm beginning to wish I'd opted for the simpler garmin 55. As Clint Eastwood would say "a man's gotta know his limitations".
