    I love Korean food but this is hands-down one of my faves! And it's so easy to make! Hope you enjoy it too!

      I love the simplicity and banter of your videos. Can you please provide written recipes in description too? It makes it easier when I go to the Asian Market than re watching the whole video again? Thank you!!

    Flo, I absolutely love your channel - not only because you look like a younger version of a dear friend, but also because I just bought an Instant Pot, which I haven’t even unpacked yet. I live in Italy and miss Asian cuisine, having lived in Asia for 30 years.

    I absolutely love how you edited the video Dude!! I don’t think I’ll be able to make this as I don’t live anywhere near an Asian or Korean market, but I just enjoy watching you guys cook and talk!

    Making this tonight and cant wait to try it! Took awhile to find some short ribs. Tried a korean and asian market, and a local butcher with no luck. We ended up getting some at costco and asked the butcher to cut them thinner for us!

    • @FloLum
      @FloLum  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great that the Costco butcher was willing to do that for you. How did it turn out?

    The reason for the Asian pear is the enzyme in it called bromelain. You can use pineapple or kiwi as a replacement but you have to be careful. Especially with pineapple. The bromelain is in a MUCH higher concentration than the Asian pear so your max marinating time with pineapple is about 30 minutes. The enzyme will break down the protein to the point of being mushy if you let it marinate for any longer.

    Btw, I have seen Korean recipes where they soak and rinse the ribs to get rid of the blood and bone fragments created from the saw blade when being cut.

    "Dude Chilling Park"!! haha
    Dean Martin's character in the movie "Rio Bravo" was named "Dude", alongside John Wayne, Walter Brennan, Ricky Nelson, Ward Bond, and Angie Dickinson. Given "our" Dude's affection for Bourbon Whisky, there may be an association, no? (j/k)
    Love what you folks are doing, though I'm rolling these around 3 years after you recorded them. Lovely relationship you show on-camera, and I'm learning so much about driving my kitchen!
