Which Size Curling Tong Should You Be Using?

- In this video I used the Vs Sassoon Curling Tongs in 19mm, 25mm and 38mm.
My favourite is the 38mm (the thickest tong), I use it almost every day! It creates the perfect effortless and 'undone' wave for me.

I think 25mm is the best option for long hair, with it you can make waves like with 38mm one, you only have to take bigger sections and leave it on a wand for shorter time, then you get effortless look, and you can also achieve the 19mm look if you take very small section and wrap it thight and hold a bit longer, so the best option might be to buy 25mm wand. I have rowenta 25mm premium curling wand and I can make a lot of different curly hair styles.

Can I use a 3/4 inch (19mm) iron and still make it look like I used a 1 inch (25mm) iron? I have shorter hair that's harder to grab onto. Thanks!
I had bought the Philips curling tong....i think it was 38 or 40 38mm. But it didn't curl nicely or may be I didn't do it properly....i returned it....i have naturally curly hair but wanted to try out some beach waves.....
I haven't tried that one. But I do know that with this one (38mm) you need to spray a lightweight hairspray on each section and do only small sections of hair for the best result. If you use big sections of hair they don't turn out as well. My hair is naturally v curly too!
Hey, I was wondering if I could use a large 38mm barrel to loosen my natural 3c curls? I can't find any info on this. Have you tried it? (I mean without straightening the hair, using it directly on curls to change them)
