What is a satellite team?
I have a 'theory' about Jorge and Marc's future in Ducati. I think it depends on whether IF:
1. Jorge is promoted to Factory Ducati, Marc is OK staying in Gresini but with latest spec and more factory support,
2. The factory Ducati management is accepting the risk (and 'embarrassement') getting beaten by Marc in Gresini 2025.
3. Marc is content with this arrangement.
In Ducati execs perspective, it's better getting a bruised ego of being beaten by another Ducatis (even from a Satelite team) than getting beaten by Marc from another factory rivals (Aprilia and KTM), no? Both Marc and Jorge still can thrive in Aprilia and KTM anyhow. It's about managing their racers expectation for the Ducati management now.

Talented riders always adapt quickly to motorbikes and don't like to complain. they are acosta and marquez. So it would be foolish for factory team not to pick them up.

yesterday's sprint race at mugello proved that these two guys are very talented. Marc could be said to be a rookie here. Quickly adapt to a new motorbike. Acosta cleverly take over binder. Marc take over Martin. Even though binder and martin had been riding motorbikes for years.

It’s the 23 bike narrative that is messing with people, and it is an excuse.
2 seasons ago both Pecco and jack tore the house down about the new bike being worse than the old bike. The 23 has a full season of development and data, the 24 bike is still being dialed in for at least the first 6 rounds.
The GP24 will be better by mid season, but at the moment, it’s just an excuse for why he hasn’t won, like we were arrogantly told he would, on ANY Ducati.

Plus, considering his performance on the Ducati, I won’t be surprised if he wins the championship. He’s only had 6 races and he’s starting to get consistent podiums even from starting 13th-14th. He’s 32 points behind the leader after being 44 points behind at the end of round 3 and crashing out of 2 races. He’s earned 78 points in the last 3 rounds which is much more than any other rider including pecco and martin.
At least wait until the season is over to start claiming “he was supposed to win like we were arrogantly told he would”.
Mir didn’t win a race until the final round or 2 in 2020, but he still won the championship. Marc is starting slow, like expected after joining a new manufacturer after riding a Honda for 10 years. But it’s all coming together now and he’s catching the leaders with more consistency than anybody else. At this rate he could win the championship and he’s still improving on the Ducati.

Now that the factory Ducati deal is off, Marc needs to walk. I think Marc would be great on the RS-GP with full Aprilia factory support taking the challenge to Ducati. The racing will be amazing next season!

If he didn't go to official Lenovo Ducati, it would be the best choice to go to Aprilia: he would have a whole factory betting on him. On the Ducati Gresini with gp25 would only be a third wheel, and Ducati would still prefer the “red” team.

I tell you what in Spain is said by multiple insiders:
Marc doesn't want to go to Pramac because
1- It's, like he said, again a satellite team
2- In Pramac you have Fonsi Nieto who positioned himself on Rossi's side when all that happened. At that moment Marc cut ties with everything involved in one way or another with Nieto family and Rossi's environment, enterprises, etc...
It's rumored that Marc said to Ducati "ok, I rode this year almost free, but not next year, I am a 8 time world champion and I will be paid like that, I already proved I can be competitive with an older bike and a few races on me.
Ducati's intention is to follow the "no more Lorenzos" philosophy and no one will ever have such a big contract like him. It's a "privilege to ride a Ducati" and every rider will be treated more or less equal, no "Divos". Marc received this "feedback" from Ducati and did an "all in" in the past press conference by saying something like "with or without you" because he said Ducati is not his only opion. Ducati doesn't want to lose Marc, not only because of his talent but also like a potential rival.
Redbull and other sponsors who have supported Marc since the beginning and pay him big money are not compatible with Ducati Lenovo.
Audi plays a big role in all of this because they are pressing Ducati to keep Marc.
It's was "almost done" decision with Jorge but everything could change. Till last week it was almost a done deal for Jorge. Now not so much.
Marc doesn't wanted to go to KTM because what they said last season "Marc came to us begging for a Seat" but now it would be a good option.
Aprilia is no joke in terms of an option. A very real option, but KTM would fit more Marc's natural style.

Lots of praise fot this guy, ( I'm not a hater of Marquez by the way) but how arrogant can you be!? You just had 3 years of injuries and constant crashes, then gresini decides to hire you and pay your enormous paycheck , he gets 3 podiums (no wins) and immediately people blow him up out of proportion, the guy now refuses a pramac bike that is pretty much the same level as Bagnaia's One , what a madman !! He should have took the offer and then if he did well with pramac move on to the official red bike next year..

It all depends on where martin goes, if aprilia were smart, they'd give martin whatever he wants. I know aprilia said they're interested in signing an Italian rider but that could easily be a diversion so people dont know who they actually want which could very well be martin. Think about it: it doesnt matter who they get, they're gonna get someone who has never ridden for aprilia so they're taking a chance either way. Also, and im gonna receive alot of hate for this, but ducati doesnt want their italian champion to be beaten by someone whos not Italian and on the same team. Martin deserved that factory seat for the past 2 years and ducati still hasnt given him the factory seat, why? Because they want their champion to be Italian.

Jorge is Spanish, he will likely get the seat. Lorenzo was hired to win them a title, they gave him 20 million dollars.
I think they would absolutely like their champ to be Italian, but I think they would prefer to win over anything else. Ducati are like Ferrari, they care about the brand over the rider.

Reduced aero, it’s definitely not being removed. Ride height and start devices are being removed, which is a positive. I think the new rules will be good.

Season is barely halfway done and this is in discussion Marquez is up there fighting with Martin and Peco and for me if Marquez can be competitive even on the year old Ducati he deserves the factory ride but I think its Martins already he's younger and Ducati will look at long term success Marc also has to look that he is now in his 30s and going to Pramac with a factory set up wouldn't be bad for him.

Here’s another perspective for you. Marc Marquez immediately pulled some strings by joining Ducati for only one year on his terms, while Pramac and Ducati offered him a two-year deal with an official GP24 bike. This behavior wasn't well received and gave the impression that Marc wasn't fully committed to the Ducati cause.
Dall’Igna and Ducati are like Enzo Ferrari; they are happy if it’s primarily the bike that wins. That’s why they have now chosen Martin. If Marquez in red were to win a world championship, it would discredit Pecco’s titles, essentially the Ducati titles. However, if Marc joins another brand and Ducati beats him, they can show that Ducati can defeat even the best Marquez, making their world title even more significant. The message would be: “Marc was competitive and fighting for the title with an old bike at Ducati, but Marc at Aprilia/KTM factory can’t beat us. So who was the strongest element in 2024?” The answer: Ducati.
And that’s why Marc will go to either Aprilia or KTM next year. Ducati wants to keep Pramac and will never give Gresini a GP25, putting Marc in competition with their official riders. They would rather lose Marc, counting on beating him thanks to the supremacy of their bike.
Regarding the marketing issue, I have serious doubts that Marc Marquez is such a highly sought-after asset. He carries the negative aura from 2015 when he garnered the disdain of Rossi fans, who are the most numerous among all riders in history and are mostly Italian, the same nationality as Ducati. This year, he hasn’t been able to bring a main sponsor to Gresini, and the livery has remained empty. Are we really sure there is a line of sponsors wanting Marc as their spokesperson? I have serious doubts.
Another thing, Ducati made a move towards VR46 with the new rich sponsor Pertamina. Valentino knows how to attract sponsors! And do you think Ducati would be happy to keep the Marquez family and the Rossi team under the same roof for many years? Come on, think it through.

Go with aprilia marc, the bike is stable entering and exiting the corner.
Don't do stupid moves, Marc. After years of suffering you've finally found a solid position inside the strongest constructor of the moment. If you want the official bike, which is the most important factor for being able to win the championship, just pass to Pramac. The official team is too crowded now, but - as Martin is clearly demonstrating - it's possible to compete for the title even with Pramac. Don't go to KTM, Aprilia or other constructors: results clearly show that they're not as pwerful as Ducati, at the moment.
Marc doesn't take long to ride a Ducati! just like other drivers. Yes, he has natural talent and I believe that if Gigi doesn't give him a 25 motorbike in Gresini, maybe next year he will get the newest motorbike, whether it's an Aprilia or a KTM. and he will go crazy
bagnaia is ducari, Jorge Pramac and Marc Gresini. They shd stay with these teams for the next 3 years at least. They are top competitors and they get prime attention from those teams. The rest bastinini, oliviera etc can switch to any team.

I'm not sure this is the right move for MM93? I understand the sponsor situation but that can be worked out. Pramac (provided they are staying with Ducati) will have the GP25 which gives MM93 the best shot at a title. If he goes to Aprilia or KTM he may have a factory seat but it will be on an even more inferior bike than he's riding now. IMO, not going to Pramac is more about $$ than winning or resources. 😬
He wouldn't have payed off his honda contract and go to a satellite team and take such a massive pay cut if he didn't only care about winning and enjoying. He's past needing money after how successful his career has been.

@@macsmith6216 I have and I call BS! As I stated earlier, he talks about factory teams having more "facilities" and resources. But for a rider who says he wants to win another world title, just (potentially) said NO to the best bike on the grid the GP25, because it's at Pramac and not factory Ducati. Again make it make sense. Because what he's saying doesn't add up.
The Aprilia & the KTM only seem inferior because they don’t have the top riders. The guys who ride those bikes are inconsistent. On their best days we see what the machines are capable of & it’s impressive. Acosta will win some once he stops crashing. I think that Aprilia is quite the weapon. Just needs a consistently fast rider for a consistently fast bike.
I think Jorge on this factory seat will be the same as Bastianini. Did a great job with underpowered machines, but will not perform as great when get a bike that will give them a shot at the title, or just does perform as great under pressure knowing that now they must achieve wins/podiums at 99% percent of the times given they have the best bikes. MM93 has already proved he still the best and most talented rider in this grid BY A LOT and deserves to be on the factory team.

At least one thing is certain & that’s Marc is giving Pecco & Jorge hell while using an older bike. But on last year’s Ducati, Marc is still at a disadvantage. Nothing is guaranteed but Marc on the newest spec Ducati is about as close as you can get. He’d definitely be faster than he currently is. With all that talent out there Marc is still a standout, even with him being a bit older than the rest. I’m not saying Marc is miles better than Pecco (nobody is to be fair to Pecco) & Marc can be beaten. But at this level, better by a fraction is still better. I do think Marc is fractionally better than the rest. So Pecco will win often enough & Marc won’t dominate the field like he once did. In the proper hands it seems that Aprilia is the Ducati’s equal. It needs the right rider & Marc should have a factory ride. The one drawback is Marc having to adapt to another brand & not even Marc can outrun age.
Ducati with ‘Mr Entitled’ Bagnaia is not the place for Marc. Give him the latest Ducati and keep him in the family atmosphere of Gresini and he will destroy everyone.

I don't see Pecco as entitled or difficult at all. He rides as fast as he needs to when he is the best on a given day, and usually salvages as many points as possible when he isn't. Doesn't act like a fool in the media. A little boring but super fast and capable. One of the top 4 in the world for sure at the moment.

Yeah, based on the "Pramac is not an option" from Marc, it seems like Martin is staying there. That would mean Marc to factory Ducati. Or.... Marc to Aprilia and Enea staying. Which would make sense if Ducati's thinking is that they doesnt want a Rossi - Lorenzo situation. Or Pramac switches to Yamaha.... Dont know, but very exciting :)

Hay un vídeo en TH-cam, del programa de, El Chiringuito de mega, donde habla Fonsi Nieto, sobre Marc y Valentino, quizás sea una pista, de su negativa a fichar por Pramac.
Martin deserves the factory seat for sure, Pramac not sure if yhey will remain with Ducati or not... Aprilia and Gasgas are better options for Marc and Enaea.

I think Ducati doesn’t like to take risks, they will go with Jorge (he is strong, he demonstrated good performances last year and this year and in addition he is younger than Marc) + Pecco (he already won twice with Ducati, Italian rider on italian bike = sell a lot of Ducati)
Marc in my opinion is more talented than both, but again I think Ducati will not take risks.
That said, what if at the end of the championship Pecco will finish behind the two?
The Factory Ducati team are somewhat bi-polar and unrealistic with there riders, Marc might not be happy in this environment so he should do his own thing so he will excel and be happy and have a successful season next year...
Pedro is the future, putting Marc in the same team to destroy the bike like he did at Honda, would be a bad move.

@@VW2000TSI I said sometimes. Sometimes best rider beats best machine. 2004 Rossi won but Honda was the better bike. 2017 MM won but Ducati was the better bike. When healthy, MM is the best rider, Not sure why this is even debatable.

marc has to now stay with Gresini - what a fresh new start. Pramac has found its surprise star in jorge and ducati is going to be led by bagnaia .. MM93 gives gresini its star and its otherwise a weak team so he is best to stay the rest of his career - at most 3 more years with them.

Marc so far is great with gresini but as a Aprilia fan would love to see his number on the bike I know we aren't a championship winning team but every season we are getting closer to one and if anyone can give Aprilia a title so far is Marc fingers crossed
He can’t develop a bike, the team would be taking backwards steps across the season, Marc and his rabid fans would place all the blame on the factory. They shouldn’t sign him.
