I love that in the ending they showed that he loved her when she was fat and as she lost weight and he gained weight she also didn't lose her feeling for him either. In most movies its either the girls or the guy that doesn't care if the other is fat or ugly and it rarely shows that both sides don't care abt the other person's physical appearance.
Girls care way less about looks than guys anyway. Men and women are shallow in different ways. You see how Han has to be a super talented and accomplished musician? Because girls care about status more than looks.
Facts, thats the major reason I feel anyone should lose weight, unless you have a specific condition, losing weight is most times in the hand of the person.
Two explanations why Han let himself go by the end of the film: 1) They refer to the scene where they first became friends despite Han’s weight and loved each other nonetheless 2)When Han gained weight and Xiaoxi became thin, i would relate it to the scene where his eyes glowed, maybe its some magic, that they both share each other’s weights/burdens or maybe something deeper that we couldn’t see
There’s tons of reasons realistically. Maybe he got depressed because his mum died or something and started eating lots as a coping mechanism and ended up gaining weight. Or maybe he got a health condition that resulted in him gaining weight. Maybe he just let himself go like lots of men do after a certain point. There’s tons of potential reasons.
She made a wish right before she found the rabbit. Her wish was to have a handsome bf. The whole Alice in Wonderland concept has always been whacky/unorthodox in how it drives the story forward. I think the rabbit knew that her true wish wasn’t to have a handsome bf (like Huangke for example or any handsome guy in general) but to have Han as her bf. obviously her wish came true. The potion (negative effects, weight loss, consequences, etc.) was a tool to make this happen. It helped her and Han realize a lot of things and they ended up together. I’m assuming the scene at the end is a reference to the “one makes you smaller” and “one makes you bigger” potions in Alice in Wonderland. So, it ties into the Alice in Wonderland theme. It’s also a positive and nice sentiment/etc. towards weight in relationships.
Having obsession over anything in life is a recipe for disaster Her unhealthy desire to become huangke's girlfriend almost destroyed her life She had clear evidence in front of her that huangke only loved her appearance and nothing else and yet she continued wanting to become his girlfriend Thankfully the right decision came just in time and she ended up with the person that loved her for who she is inside

Ignore the scale, the size, and the shape, and just focus on doing what you can to be healthy. Healthy comes in many shapes and sizes. 🥰🙏
While it isn't good to fat-shame people I think people should probably aknowledge that being fat is very unhealthy and probably lead a person to their death.
i’ve always avoided this movie even if they’re played by few of my favourite actors (Guan Xiaotong, Huang Jingyu and Kuan Hong) because four years ago i was very fat and i’m worried this would trigger that painful memory. it turns out this movie isn’t that bad, and it makes me kind of appreciate my old self..
Don't listen to this guy above me. Fat people are usually considered fat because they usually are. Still, if you managed to lose weight then it doesn't matter how good you look but it DOES matter that you have a very determined personality and a strong will. Those are more important than looks
@@minameep_ I don’t want to get in on the drama but guy doesn’t necessarily mean a male now. ‘Guy’ is often used as a gender neutral term now and that seems how the other person used it. I’m a girl and often call my other female friends as ‘guys’.
45 kilograms.... is roughly 99 pounds. I havent weighed that much since i was like.... 8 years old. I know that aisian countries have their own standards of beauty but something about how the media portrays beauty standards just hits me in the wrong way.
I don’t know if it’s necessarily ok but I do know its not as bad in Asia. East Asians are naturally skinnier than other ethnicities and have a lower bmi scale. A 165cm Japanese girl who weighs 80kg actually is actually at risk of a lot more complications due to weight than a British girl of the same weight and height. So their bodies are made to be a bit skinnier than in other countries.
Well my grandma weighted 48 kg in her youth but had thick bones and was 1,7 m high. That's because she went through the WW2 (she was 9 y.o. when the war started and 15 when it ended). But she wasn't Asian, she was average white woman of European type. But my mom and me aren't like that, we have weight problems. Mom had these after I was born (she was a bit chubby in her youth but still pretty) but after that started to gain weight. I was simply overfed during my childhood - because my granny survived Great Hunger in 1932-33 (she was born in Soviet Ukraine in 1930) and WW2 she thought that child has to eat more to be healthy. Also my dad was chubby in his youth
That’s just because it was the same skinny actress who played the role when she did weight 80kg, she wasn’t fat so it was hard to make her look like she actually was 80kg.
There's literally no difference between a preference for a type of women and what condiments you want on your burger. There's been beauty standards for as long as people have existed. There's a hierarchy of features that most people would agree signify beauty. Fact that this movie was only about weight makes it shallow since it implies that weight trumps all other attributes in defining beauty.
@@ezradlionel711 the problem is that weight doesn’t matter at all. One girl who is 45kg could look significantly skinnier of another girl who is also 45kg. Maybe he likes skinny girls ok, but he’s shallow for having such strict requirements and those requirements also don’t necessarily relate to how thin someone is. Also, weight is always fluctuating and people gain weight as they age so another reason why such a strict requirement is stupid. Will he breakup with his girlfriend if she accidentally gained 1kg and is now 46kg even though she could easily lose it again?

Such a blackpill story; brutal how she would do anything for the celebrity; how she just want someone good looking, even though she is not good looking herself; a realistic movie with an unrealistic ending
I don't think it's common for an adult (which she seems to be) to be that obsessed with celebrities. It's mentioned she loves chasing celebrities and hops from obsessing over one to obsessing over another. Nothing about this sounds common or healthy to me. Not realistic to begin with. But it doesn't have to be realistic since it's a fantasy movie. Also something I noticed with movies from asia where it starts with an ugly or fat female mc and the moral of the story is "don't judge a book by its cover" the female mc always ends up slim and pretty (conventionally attractive) by the end of it. That's like a conventionally attractive person saying "looks don't matter, just be confident" or a rich person saying "money doesn't make you happy".

Friendly reminder that a person can be both fat and healthy. Ignore the scale, the size, and the shape, and just focus on doing what you can to be healthy. Healthy comes in many shapes and sizes. 🥰🙏
Hope somebody see my beauty in such a fat body
@@timetraveller939 same 🥲
true
While it isn't good to fat-shame people I think people should probably aknowledge that being fat is very unhealthy and probably lead a person to their death.
@@professionalenjoyer7626 yh, I'm not saying it's ugly, it's just unhealthier.
i’ve always avoided this movie even if they’re played by few of my favourite actors (Guan Xiaotong, Huang Jingyu and Kuan Hong) because four years ago i was very fat and i’m worried this would trigger that painful memory. it turns out this movie isn’t that bad, and it makes me kind of appreciate my old self..
You are lovely and smart, your body is beautiful so love it everyday
Don't listen to this guy above me. Fat people are usually considered fat because they usually are. Still, if you managed to lose weight then it doesn't matter how good you look but it DOES matter that you have a very determined personality and a strong will. Those are more important than looks
@@yasininn76 I'm not a guy? I was sending a positive message to them :/
@@minameep_ I don’t want to get in on the drama but guy doesn’t necessarily mean a male now. ‘Guy’ is often used as a gender neutral term now and that seems how the other person used it. I’m a girl and often call my other female friends as ‘guys’.
Hello! I love watching these videos 💗 this Is amazing recap of this movie
The “Hi” matched with the mouth movements in the movie 😂😂 0:00
This just proves you don't need to be "thin" to look beautiful and that there will always be someone who loves you for who you are.
Unfortunately that only works in fiction
The message in this movie is good, it's don't change yourself for the sake of others but rather find the people who love you for who you are.
I love how the "Hi" at the beginning matches the movement of the girls lips🤣
She's beautiful the way she is, shes not really that fat.
I'm a 17 y/o 5'10 guy weighing around 74 kg and i consider myself overweight.
That’s just because it was the same skinny actress who played the role when she did weight 80kg, she wasn’t fat so it was hard to make her look like she actually was 80kg.
She’s not fat at all. This is a perfectly normal weight for girls her age bruh. They still have a lot of growing and maturing to do
"He only likes girl who are 45 or below."
Me be like "Well, he's shallow af then, move on gurl."
@@ezradlionel711 Women aren’t condiments so this comment makes no sense
@@gigiwallace6645 You didn't understand a simple analogy so I imagine it wouldn't make much sense to you.

like hunter.
if i took that potion, i would be underweight for ten hours
It grants wishes, though…does that mean you want to be underweight? (Sorry, I’m nitpicking lol) ✌️🕊
So?
weird flex, but okay
And here's me, i'm not able to gain weight by every possible way available!
If I took that potion, I would be dead 💩
the fact that I still recognize Huang Ke as Hua zi lei and xiaoxi as the girl in sweet combat-😭
The ending was hilarious and gives a good message I like that
When u watched lots of videos for today and the channel decides to upload made my day🙃
Where I come from, my people believe that good character is the beauty of a woman and not looks. Nice one Mystery Recapped 👍
I'm fat and this taught me to love myself no matter what people say💞
The fact she thought she was fat when she really was just a little chubby that created amazing curves
Americans be like

Its so amazing that Han doesn't care about how she looks and that he likes her for her
But girls on the other hand, always need the guy to be high status; rich, talented, successful. I've never seen a romance drama where the guy is an average dude.
Yo man congrats on 2m subs!!!! Amazing to see your channel grow
the fact that when you start the video they both say hi at the sametime got me LOL
Such a blackpill story; brutal how she would do anything for the celebrity; how she just want someone good looking, even though she is not good looking herself; a realistic movie with an unrealistic ending
I think a lot more than the ending was unrealistic
I watched the movie just because I am fangirling on Darren Chen but it really turned out amazing....
I love how these movies always have a little obsession wit Alice in Wonderland.
Haha I just started watching your videos today and you uploaded rn!
When I saw she lost all the weight at the end I rolled my eyes, but when it pointed out how he'd gained weight it cheered me up :) Couples can be happy with genuine love without looking like society's expectation of perfect
Aaahhh the ending was so cute 😩
I'm preety sure that i ain't getting a good friend like Han never in my life 💀
Thanks Adam for another video recap.
Mystery recapped you just reach 2 million subscribers congrats. And now 3 million is the goal. And perfect videos 👌🏻
The girl looks beautiful! She shouldn't listen to people cause they just wanna make her cry and The guy is very sweet he is a great gentleman I bet his parents are happy of him!

This video is only 29 minutes ago and it gets 14k already?! I luv this video and hope this channel even grow more
That's quite a beautiful movie.
finally something worth whaching
Kids who do good deserve to have good fortune forever. Xiao Xi was an active kid who stood up to bullies to defend a chubby kid, she didn't deserve to grow up having a weight problem herself. Very sad.
Congratulations for crossing two million ❤️
I love this kind of story!

She was so cute. The chubby version was way more cute.
Yea I agree
She looked great both ways in my opinion
I love the fact that you're using your own voice!!
This was the last movie I watched at a cinema. I thought it was called Alice 😂😂😂 the projector operator put English subtitles for me. It was a kind gesture I appreciated.
congrats on 2M!!!
What a beautiful ending ♥️♥️
0:00 I thought that gurl was saying hi for a second😂😂😂😂
Who else thought same as me? 🤣
I really related to that part where her weight doesn't decrease because no matter how hard I try to exercise and eat healthy I just appear to gain weight and that is in the middle of a stressful college life😭
Nah, calorie deficit + exercise always work. Some people who do this don't lose weight because they loose body fat but gain muscles because of exercise and muscles have more weight than fat. But appearance wise, they look much fitter even without losing any weight.
Where can I get that potion?
The movie should've ended when the rumors spread, and when the guy couldn't remember her
why?/gen
That would have been a totally different type of movie. This was obviously intended as some surface level feel good movie.
She is beautiful not matter what and anyone read this,I just want to say, your beautiful and perfect not what!!!💖💖💖
It doesnt matter about the outside it matters about the inside (never judge a book by its cover)
