    I have the navy silk Chloe and I wash in a net bag in the machine on a 30 wash and short spin and it is perfect each time. I wear it casually and love it but have also worn it for more formal occasions but dont work in an office .. it is the most worn of all my sezane, i love it!

    I feel Sezane can be quite hit or miss. They still use a ton of synthetic fabrics, sometimes even more than &other stories ( way much more actually, I own several &other stories knitwear 100% wool or alpaca and wool blend), arket makes beautiful garments for way less too with much better fabric quality.
    Loved the burgundy jacket 🤩

    • @12harrypotterfan34
      @12harrypotterfan34 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have to agree. Sezane has beautiful pieces, but I feel like it's a bit overpriced for the quality. I love & Other Stories; their stuff is nice quality and pretty reasonably priced (especially if you buy on sale).

      Hi Rebecca, I agree they can be hit or miss. I think I personally gravitate towards them for the style of clothes they do - which although dupable, is very much aligned to what I like :) I do agree that quality wise, Arket is lovely. Thank you so much for watching :) x

      @@DailyHelenJ 100% see the beautiful Photography artwork which Sezane does so well. They do not ressonate that much with my style so I am not an easy target :) the basic and minimal styles they do I can find elsewhere with better quality and price.

    I'm now intrigued as to why the navy blue silk shirt is almost only suitable for office wear. Maybe do a video trying to style some pieces in a more casual way? Or maybe transforming outfits for the office in something else just by changing a few things? (I'm not sure if you've done either of these before) Anyway, these are just a couple of ideas! Love your style and your videos!

    I fell in love with their knitwear first but I find myself avoiding all the wool blend knits because of the itchiness. Once you get used to a cashmere feel, mohair just does not feel good

      Hi Lauren, I would be happy to share but I think the best bet would be a mix of Mango and & Other Stories. I often see very similar pieces from these two brands. With some of the simple knits, even Uniqlo collaborations sometimes can be a dupe (e.g. a stripe knit I've seen from the Ines De La Fressange x Uniqlo line). Depending on where you're based, The Real Real imo is just the best - lots of brands on there that can easily dupe Sezane too - esp in their sale section which is when I find the best pieces.

    Thank you Helen! Can you tell us more about the sweater brush you use? On that note I would actually love to hear about how you care for your garments in general. When buying clothing/accessories at a higher price point (Sezane or other) I'm really keen to keep them in tip-top shape.

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching :) The brush came with a sweater from The Curated, but you can find it at places like The Laundress or other stores by searching 'cashmere comb' :) I think in terms of care, I don't do anything too special. The thing about sweaters is that I try not to wash them too often, usually try to layer something underneath and do more spot cleaning. I let things air out a lot and also like cedar products to freshen sweaters between wears.

    I have many of the same pieces as you and I am also really fond of them - the Tomboy, the black floral Alicia, the James, Leontine, Chloe check, Tim and Willa jackets as well as that chunky black with white textured detail knit. They are all so versatile and fun, and I love how you style them and you have really given me new ideas (the Leontine with the Alicia for example or the Tonio cardigan tucked in with trousers or jeans). I personally also love my Edgar jumper (multicoloured and really fun) and the sparkly Donnie jumper which I wear casually and it gives every outfit a bit of glam without going overboard. Totally agree about the Frankie trousers. I bought a pair in khaki and the fit was so unflattering I sent them back.
    And I know what you mean by itchy wool. I bought the Polly knit dress in camel which I ADORE. It is so flattering, but it is a bit scratchy but I am willing to suffer!

    I always love these “most-least worn” videos - such a fun way to start the week!
    Out of curiosity (because I remember your response to issues raised with Dôen over the past 18 months), what are your thoughts on the recent Diet Prada SÉZANE scandal?
    I haven’t purchased from them since, as there was no apology, and no public statement that meets my criteria for taking public accountability, or a sincere commitment to change going forward…
    It makes me really sad, as I love SÉZANE’s aesthetic, but making profits off the exploitation of indigenous communities, and claiming they are not doing so because “humanity is one”, despite SÉZANE’s creator benefiting from her immense privilege, left a really bad taste in my mouth.
    I only ask as I thought you might have additional insights into progress SÉZANE is making behind the scenes (fingers crossed this is the case 🤞🏻).
    If you were to make a video on the topic of ethics in brands from whom you buy most frequently, I’d be super interested to see it!

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! :) I was honestly quite disappointed by the whole thing but I was glad to see an acknowledgement and apology. It doesn’t of course undo the damage but I hope they act better in the future as they say they’ll do. As to Doen, I think the apology was so terrible they might as well have left it out . I think even though Sézane was called out (as they should be), everyday I see a lot of cultural appropriation eg jackets called kimonos, patterns described as gypsy print or Asian style that I think they are part of a larger issue in the fashion space in general. I don’t have a solution but I think by calling it out each time they can hopefully all do better.
      I’ve been told they have already started taking actions and will follow along to see.
