Nice PJ...i know they did make Aerodynes like that but the Japanese one had black chrome hardware, a Strat input jack & all black ebony fretboard with no position markers ,only on the top side....it's got a pickguard which the original Japanese made one did not have , some yrs they did have one...the Japanese made the original Aerodyne many years ago..now made in USA..it really is a black PJ Jazz..nice...i have a Fender Jaguar PJ similar coloured headstock & body with a new scratchplate...PJ's are great bass's...been 10 months now, i hope you still have it ,still enjoy it & play it regular as it is a nice quiet bass, no audable buzzing or humming...nice
The original MIJ non-export aerodynes are like this one, they have binding, the pickguard and the chome hardware. The basses that are made for export are the ones that you are describing, no pickguard, strat style jack, no fret markers, etc.
Hey thanks for the message! Yeah I still have it and it has become the main Bass for tracking in my studio now. I prefer it over my P Bass and I use to use an ESP with active pickups quite a lot too. I just love the midrange in the tone that I haven't heard from any other Basses, but it somehow just works without being "honky" or annoying in any way ..and yes, it is very quiet! Good work with the Jaguar! How do you like it??
Are you sure that knife you're using to open the carton is BIG enough?
