Thanks all for the kind words on this one and some really helpful tips! When I made this video I'd only had the camera a few days and thought I'd give some initial thoughts. This isn't meant to be a full review, that will be coming in time. If you'd like to see that one when it's done, make sure to subscribe: tinyurl.com/yc27vy6b New videos every week!
I also had the F and now have the VI. I sold my F a few years ago, but to me the VI feels at least as good build quality if not better. For example, my F had a slightly grindy lens dial, but my VI is super smooth. Haven't had much chance to go out and shoot yet, but I'm loving the VI and happy I was able to get one. Also, I too miss the dpad. I think I will get used to it, though, and it does make it nicer to grab since the grip area is less busy. A great camera for photographers, but not sure I'd recommend to most people unless they really want to learn more about photography.
I felt the same when I upgraded from the F to V. Something about the old design felt solid and machine-like. I actually struggled to love the V and eventually sold it. Giving it another try with the VI.
Your complaints-aside from the build quality-seem to amount to “This camera performs better than I expected, and I find that disappointing.” Kind of a strange take, but okay lol.
Yeah pretty much! I think there’s a big difference between technical specs and shooting experience, and Fujifilm normally get that balance just right, in this case it’s shifted a bit, but I still like the camera!
Hey Gabriel, thanks for your video and your experience with the cam! One question: How is it about warming / heating of the camera? Do you notice any warming while normal shooting (just taking pictures) especially at the grip, in the are where the thumb is? Thanks in advantage
Nice review! So candid. Hey, what square hood do you have on your X100VI? I read that the Haoge one doesn’t fit properly and I already ordered one as I wait for my preorder to arrive!
This is the Haoge one! It fits just fine, there’s just one more screw ring on the lens on the VI so it doesn’t sit totally flush, but you can hardly tell
Hey! I don’t have any real ideas, but I have spent some time in Bangkok and they have amazing camera stores there! I don’t think it would be too difficult to find one in Siam in some of the shopping malls!
When I held the X-T5 after mainly using an X-T5 I felt the same way about the build quality. The x100v felt way better build wise. I did a comparison video on my channel if you want to check it out. Solid video dude, keep it up!

You can turn the ND filter on and off by holding the viewfinder changing switch to the right!
This is very useful! Thank you!

Nice! Hope you enjoy the camera!
You are. Lucky to have it. I am still on back order. Just enjoy it.
Thank you, I do feel fortunate!

Good luck with the VI, hope you like it!
ND is the switch on the front and toggle it to the right.📷👍🏼
I’m going to give it a try!

absolutely no problems at all in that respect!

@@gabrielbailey802 great, thanks for letting me know 👌
Not sure if they've removed it in the VI but I set up my F so that when I pressed the wheel on the back inward the ND filter would engage
I have now done this, and it’s already making my life 100x easier, thank you!
Hello, great video!! Congratulations.
Have you noticed softness in the images?
hey! not at all, I think they're super sharp!
Is crop modes are also available on 4K video mode with ibis ?
I’m not sure, I’m putting together a video on the video capabilities, will report back soon!
hey man! I'm about to be in Thailand and Malaysia for the next Month. Do you have a idea how I can buy the x100vi over there?

@@gabrielbailey802 so they should already be in some stores ?
@@gabrielbailey802 you think the cam gonna be available in some stores?

Thanks for sharing, totally agree! Will check it out 🫡
Loved the review and I’m excited for my preorder (i have the x100v)
What is your main camera? You mentioned this was your backup.
Nice! I’m sure you’ll love it! Main camera is the Canon R5, but I also have a Sony ZV-E1 for shooting some of these videos
What camera+ lens you use to shoot this video tho 🧐
Sony ZV-E1 with a Sigma 24-70 🫡
The second the video started I thought this a vampire video
The UK winter hasn’t done my skin tone any favours 😅
X100F was more durable for sure than the V.
I think so too, but some people have a differing opinion 😅
ND best use by anyone just program Fn2 to a simple push to engage your ND I would read the book before you do a review like this brother.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ve mapped it to a button now and really enjoying it 🫡
SHOW, don't tell... gosh, where are some examples?
Did you miss the part where I showed some examples? 😅
