He named that album "A Fable Under The Table", here's the story he thought about: All the guests in the tavern drunk from the same barrel. The barrel was enchanted and shrunk everyone into a microscopic size, transporting them into this incredible small universe that resides within the tavern. In this universe there are 7 taverns. Their quest? They have to reach the 7th tavern of this realm to reclaim the antidote and transform into their original size. Therefore the name. Now it's your time to weave stories out of it. No, torches were never used, not for light anyway. They produce a lot of smoke, so if someone needed a light outside, they'd just use a candle, perhaps inside a lamp (with hides or paper used as the transparent material) or just an oil lamp; most would just let their eyes get adjusted to the dark.
I am 100% tired of skyrim making up most of the available tracks, so I definitely appreciate this. I'll never get bored of Witcher battle music though Can't wait to get my ears on this!

This is without a *doubt* the best tavern mix/medieval music playlist I've ever come across, and I've listened to a *lot*. Feels actually "fresh" somehow, like it's a departure from the clichés, while still having the desired "vibe" for this kind of music. Really impressive.
More tarvern tracks the better! ❤ One thing I have difficulties to find is "non-medieval" tarvern songs (I don't know how to describe this better :D) I run a conan game so I'm always in search for tunes set in more ancient cultures. Would be cool to hear something like that in the lighthearted tavern context.
