    Excellent interview. I wore out my Foreigner 8 track the summer of 1977. My opinion is that it should be on the list of greatest debut albums of all-time. Those first 3 albums with Al and Ian are my favorites. Starrider is such a cool song.

    Enjoyable interview. When Al & Ian left the band it was my 1st heartbreak. Mr. Greenwood will always have my respect. ❤️ I'll never forget the 1st time I put my Aunt V's Foreigner Double Vision album on the turntable & was blown away. I loved the album so much I stole it, lol. A few months later I discovered the 1st record & was blown away again. Been a fan ever since.

    Great interview. That first Foreigner record is still in my top 10 of all time, and Al Greenwood's keys were one of biggest early influences as a musician, both with Foreigner and Spys. I am so glad to see Foreigner and Al get the recognition they deserve. By the way...the split between Al and Mick was much more contentious than Al leads on, which is testament to Al's class and decency, with the focus being on the accomplishments versus the drama.

    Great interview! Al Greenwood is such a humble talented guy!! 💪 What a treat to hear from him. Would have loved to hear some specifics on what keyboard parts he played - and hear him demonstrate a couple of things. Wish you would have displayed the Double Vision album in the background instead of Foreigner 4... for obvious reasons! 😜

    I'm gonna take a guess & say Billy Joel will end up inducting Foreigner. Billy & Mick are great friends plus it was Billy who inducted Mick & Lou in the songwriters HOF.

    The original Foreigner is being recognized not the tribute band.

    Great interview however, they should keep the new version of foreigner out of the house rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. They have nothing to do with the beginning. It is nothing but a karaoke band. Nobody would want to see brit Floyd with Pink Floyd. So ridiculous how they keep incorporating the fake version of the band.

    It’s a shame two of the members have already passed away & will never know their honor of being inducted into the RRHOF. Mick is also in bad health. I read he’s suffering from Parkinson’s disease!! Thank goodness Lou is still here after surviving a very serious life threatening brain tumor!!!

    I still haven’t gotten over the greed and backstabbing by Mick Jones against Lou Graham when it came to the song “I wanna know what love is,” where Mick stole all the rights to the song, while Lou played a major factor in that song. Mick made millions and Lou nothing. I know I don’t stand alone in my views of what Mick Jones did. It was an extremely disgusting mark on Mick Jones, and deservedly so. He threw Lou under the bus to enrich himself. While the original band foreigner is a band I have favored in my life, the current band has not one original member. They aren’t anything other than a cover band. And to charge the concert fees they’re asking for is a travesty. Glad they’re being inducted. Long overdue!

    I wonder why they got rid of Ed Gagliardi?

    • @willyhwang1059
      @willyhwang1059 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I heard mick and Lou didn’t like how Ed was being too creative with his bass playing, that they wanted a traditional bass player who would stay at the bottom end.
      That doesn’t seem sensical to me. I suspect personality conflict.

    • @tlmass81
      @tlmass81 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I heard a couple of stories that it was Dennis who convinced Mick to hire Rick after they got rid of Ed.

    • @waltersimmons946
      @waltersimmons946 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      According to Lou Gramm. Ed Gagliardi actually play the bass lines the way he wanted rather than the way the songs were drawn up and it slowed down the recording sessions . Lou said also that Gagliardi was stubborn and after a while it got to be too much. So Mick fired Ed and after being told he was fired Ed fainted at hearing the news.
