Hey Jonathan, Thanks for checking out the video and commenting! That's great, hope you love the pedal! It's a really great unit. I don't play with a load of modulation personally so for me it's really useful to just have it all in one place. It's very flexible too, and being Boss it's built like a tank!
Thanks Leigh for this informative look at the MD-200. I actually bought this a couple of weeks ago and have barely scratched the surface of it yet, and you have given me e few ideas and also highlighted things I didn't realise ie built in boosts.
Hey Simon, Thanks for the comment and for checking the video out! The MD200 is a great pedal, it can do so so much. I'm with you there, I feel that I went into a lot of depth with the pedal but yet there is still so much left to explore. I actually had to cut quite a bit out because the video would have been well over an hour! I didn't even look at MIDI or stereo stuff either! It's such an insane pedal for the money!! The built in gain boosts are so fun. I love the one that's in the Vintage Phaser. I don't know how that would sound if you paired it with an already overdriven sound... but it could be an interesting tone.
@@LeighFugeGuitar Thanks for response, I've got the OD-200 on the way so can wait to pair the two of them up, as you said it releases space on your pedal board depending on how well the OD-200 sounds may even get rid of some of my other Boss pedals. Any chance you'll be doing demos on the other Boss 200 series pedals?
I've heard the OD200 is awesome. I know a few people who've tried that and loved it. Apparently the drive sounds on it are so so good! I don't have any plans to do any more 200 series demos, it all depends if Boss want me to really. If Boss want me to, then I'm more than happy, I don't have any in my queue at the moment though. I'd love to do more demos with them though.
Hey Leigh, good to see you still love the Blackstar 6L6 studio as we’ve talked before. I still have mine. I have an MD200 as well, had not seen this review. Enjoy your vids. Great tones.
Hey Fred, Yeah I love that amp. This is actually quite an old video (nearly 2 years) so I hadn't long got the amp when I shot this, but I am pleased to say that 2 years on I'm still using it for the majority of my videos and it gets used for gigs too! Such a great amp!! The MD200 is amazing too, I've had it on my pedalboard since I got it!
This will be my second comment on the same video and I don’t like to do that, but I just wanted to say, this is a GREAT in depth review of a pedal I own but have not yet put into service . This video is a tremendous tool in helping me program this extremely versatile pedal to my liking and rig so I am now subscribed , have given a like to, and look forward to watching all of the rest of your videos. Good luck and I hope your channel just blows up because you deserve it. Great usable stuff!
Hey Tobias, Thank you! Yeah man, 100%. It's the only modulation pedal you need. I've been using it non stop haha. It's got everything, and it doesn't take up a load of pedalboard space.
This pedal is rad Leigh! Thanks for the demo. The first time you tweaked it the tone sounded like a trippy scifi Mars movie or something. And that one dial in it did sound pretty close to a CE-1. It’s at least in the ballpark anyway
Thanks Dan! It's such an in depth pedal. I could have probably made a video double the length it does so much. It's a tone tweakers dream. Or, someone like me who needs a few great modulation sounds without losing too much pedalboard space, this is perfect. Good to know its close to a CE1. I know that pedal gets a lot of love.
Nice T-shirt! I’m a Sun King baby... Excellent demo. Boost your speech a bit for us old guys who gigged ourselves to deaf. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 That slicer effect! Doooooood.......
Gotta love The Cult! They're one of my favourite bands. Thanks for checking the demo out and thanks for the feedback. This video is actually an old video from when I was new to TH-cam at the start of last year, my overall video quality has moved on since this was made so more recent videos are much better sound wise! Cheers!
Modulation for days! BOSS doesn't make junk for sure. A little pricey but I see the reason or rather hear the reason. Stop costing me money Leigh! Later
Boss certainly don't make junk! This is another example of how they are such a big force in the pedal world. Their modulation stuff has always been incredible I think. Price wise, what does it cost where you are? In the UK it's £200 which for the amount of tones, is pretty affordable. I'd have expected it to cost way way more. If you bought each of the effects in here individually you'd probably get over the £1000 mark.
@@LeighFugeGuitar $250 in the States. You are correct about all the effects and I didn't really consider that only the initial cost of $250. $250 is $250 but point taken. later
Really well done Leigh nice demo...
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the demo! Been going back and forth on this pedal and I believe you've pushed me over the edge. Thanks!

Best md 200 review by far! Thank you bro
Thank you so much man, glad you enjoyed the demo! Thanks for checking it out!
The classic phaser sounds from this were just stonking. Great vid Leigh
Thank you man! I loved that tone with the drive on! It's very EVH inspired I think!
What is “stonking”? That is one aI have never heard in the great white North, soon to officially be a dictatorship, Canada!

But you can't use more than one effect at a time.
True, but a lot of multi modulation pedals in this format also don’t allow you to use multiple effects at once
