After 4 days of use, this is the best tech purchase of my life. It’s like peering into the future when you use it.
That’s one of the coolest experiences. I thought I was going to get a lot of functionality out of mine, but I’m actually dumbfounded at how much functionality I’m actually getting.
I was at a client, location, and the office manager asked me for a revision to my contract. I could’ve taken out my laptop, but I took out the Apple Vision Pro. Because of iCloud and keychain syncing and all that stuff, it’s just associated with the net work, I brought up the document, edited it, and sent it off via email right in front of her face, and her mouth was wide open… she told me that she thought it was just a toy like the quest. And I told her that they are in two different classes. I gave her a quick demo, and she immediately ordered one.
But the big Takeaway was what she said after she ordered it. “I don’t even have to worry about the silly monitor here at work anymore. I can just use my laptop on the screen and do whatever I need to do.” But then I told her that it is a computer, and you don’t even need to use a laptop. Then she said I’m pretty sure a lot of people don’t know this. And I told her that eventually enough people are going to get it to where everyone would have at least gotten a chance to demo it, and some people are gonna like it, and some people are gonna hate it because people just hate everything today. And some people are going to like it, but not be able to afford it. And that’s totally fair, but the technology would have been validated at that point.
better than your iPhone? better than a Mac or a gaming PC?
@@TimmySullivanlolyou think a first gen is going to do all that😂
@@robertsoriano1797 yes because Vision OS is just a custom version of iPad OS. why would i type out a text in my headset when it’s faster on my phone. why would i use the single screen mirroring from my mac when i have two functional screens in the real world. why would i facetime someone w my persona when i can just facetime someone with my phone. apple has really failed to address gen 1 concerns. i get it, i like the headset it’s just not where it needs to be for 4 grand. all these reviewers keep saying the future is bright for Vision Pro but that’s just another way of saying it’s not where it needs to be now. i regret buying my headset outside of the initial few hours of dopamine until i realized it has no apps, is frustrating to navigate at times, doesn’t work in low light, and doesn’t bring enough of a value proposition YET
I'm curious, is this your first vr headset?
12:43 - You’re scrolling and interacting with the windows with one finger like you’d scroll on your iPhone or iPad… everyone else I’ve watched says you can’t do that and you have to scroll with your fingers pinched or something to that effect. I’m super glad you showed this because on all those other videos I wanted to reach through my phone and use one finger!!
You can also interact with the windows of course but - everything - takes much longer than on an ipad. From moving files to inserting text.
Can you imagine when they integrate this with gaussian splat scenes or whatever spatial rendering tech they have in the future. There are camping spots I don't get to visit enough. It'd be nice to take a coffee break there and meditate or decompress there for a moment in walkable 3D space along with ai animated leaves, water ripples, dragon flies...
I've got something like that on Quest 3.
@@dtz1000 Right? Now imagine it even more detailed than what you have? Imagine entering a digital space that is different every single time you enter it. Same place, new leaf. Could really turn the immersion up.
Too bad we didn't get this before Rolling Acres closed. Imagine what Urban Explorers will do with this. Imagine how many buildings we can archive
If you like Vision Pro, you should definitely try VR gaming. Instead of rearranging panels and sliding through apps you get immersed in a world that is very mind blowing. It is something everyone on this earth should experience.
I KNOW! I tried fruit ninja and it was immersive. so much fun :) will make a video about that soon haha.
@@NoahHermansarcasm?
@@faemttv morelike he has zero idea about VR gaming
@@NoahHerman most mind blowing game I’ve tried so far is Asgard’s Wrath 2. Red Matter 2 and Hubris are a great experience too. Fruit Ninja can’t compare😅
fruit ninja on the vision pro is.... terrible. these guys know nothing about vr lmao
and with only 36k views on this video, he ain't making his money back haha
Shoutout to TH-cam algorithm for blessing me with this channel find. One of the most fun reviews to listen to!
Great work, Noah.
Steller review ! I most likely won’t purchase one, but enjoyed watching your cats bothering you…lol ! Btw, cats love the smell of paper, that’s why they love boxes so much.
LOVE this video. You know, you have a "senior audience" out here that you've probably not even realized. Imagine not hesitating for the Gen One product because one's own lifespan has become a factor! I will get a Vision Pro after my next vision Rx update and in the meantime, I'm learning so much from TH-cam videos, Reddit, Discord, etc. This video is so far my favorite - so good at sharing the actual "experience"! Thank you so much for making it!
It’s nice they have Mt Hood in it and you highlighted it. I get to see it every single day looking out my kitchen window.
Also, TH-cam did an abrupt about face and just announced through the Verge yesterday pretty much admitting they screwed up and announced that there is a TH-cam app on the roadmap but gave no timeline. I’m sure the fact that every single VP video has said something about it and they’re all raving about the Vision Pro. You know they won’t just let this pass by!
I just want to ask, how does the Vision Pro work with an iPad Pro, is it close to using a Mac book pro, or is very different…. I may buy one of these eventually, but it will need some work, since I am disabled, and I would prefer to wait until the 2nd generation releases… which means I may be waiting for a year or a few years, we will see…
Hands down the best AVP review. Instant subscribe. You're really, really good at this.
Also, love the cats.
Does the camera changes focus depends on what you're looking at? So if you'll look at your hand and then far away, will the focus changes?
thanks for the review... the VisionPro is very impressive. Please consider doing another review after a month or two.
Does VLC work in it as well?
Very 'Minority Report ' looks awesome!
3:28 When you said they aren't coming out with a new model for three years, is that for the pro model specifically, or also "non pro" too? First time hearing about a release timeline.
He doesn't know. He knows nothing about apple or VR lol
Do you know if two person are using the Apple Vision Pro at the same time they can see simultaneously a movie, or photos, etc. This means that can share the same moment together?
meta quest has plenty of app that can do this, bigscreen vr being the best one. If meta quest with a lower end hardware can accomplish , then im sure devs will make an app for visoin pro soon enough
This is a high quality video with information! I was like very weird about it due to social media clowning around but this is so cool. The fact that the system knows how to cast shadows and visual feedback when typing on air.. it’s sooo awesome
How different is it when watching 3D videos/films on Apple Vision compared to wearing 3D glasses or the 3DS screen?
It's the same as watching a 3D video on Quest 3 but with a better quality display.
Better than seeing a 3D film in the movie theater. The avatar movies are my favorite.
Got this as a present its insain its a path to a whole new world its the first of somthing huge
crushed it!
best content on apple vision pro so far.. Thank you!
A 45 minute videoooo!
What a joy ride, Noah! Your enthusiasm and excitement obvious. Not an early adopter. This would be excessive , price-wise, and a non-essential for me. For now, I’m ok casting what I see on my iPad over to my Samsung 43 in. flat screen TV, which is how I’m viewing your presentation. Maybe I’ll wait for the 🍎VisionPro SE. ☺️ Best!
Noaah 😃
What Apple has done here is pretty amazing. While this is certainly nothing new - VR headsets have been around for literally a decade at this point - they have certainly polished everything very nicely. Everything seems to work very well; of course, you have the ecosystem.
But honestly, most of what the Vision Pro does has been available on other VR headsets as well. Meta Quests has had hand tracking for years; you can do pretty much the same things as in the Vision Pro, like typing on the keyboard with your fingers, scrolling, and resizing and positioning windows in space. However, on Quest, you can't place individual windows anywhere, but they are all next to each other, and you can move and place them in the room as a unit.
I like the UI and UX Apple has implemented for the Vision Pro and am looking forward to seeing what will get transferred to the Quest platform. I'll certainly not spend $ 4000$ on a headset, especially since I am not invested in the Apple ecosystem. I also like the big library of native VR apps and experiences available on Quest.
Something I am also really impressed by are the cutouts of arms and hands over the virtual elements. That's something I'd love to see on Quest as well!
If Quest 3 feels like toy (even the virtual world is cartoonish), Vision Pro is like a well made high end headset even the virtual world is truly immersive and real.
oh no doubt the Quest is capable... but it by no means produces this believable, BEAUTIFUL experience like visionOS and this hardware does. not even close! ecosystem aside, the refinement sells this thing! :)
Apple have talent to take a existing raw tech and make it actually good
You can have multiple windows up on the Quest 3 and you can even have your phone up in vr games when you need it. It can remote play pc and console games and works with connecting to your desktop with multiple screens. You can also lock the window and have it follow you as you travel. Quest 3 does so much more, it just needs Oled screens and clearer pass thru cameras, but you can use a Q3 anywhere you can use a VP with far more games and apps
Your cats are so cute 😭😭😭
20:30 The displays are MicroOLED not MicroLED
i meant that but said "LED" haha. ty for clarifying though :)
Does Safari has extension support ?
not yet i think
this your first vr headset?
the first i've owned but i've used VR before this
You actually have a 3rd keyboard. Any blue tooth keyboard can be used also.
I know this is random but where did you get your glasses from? 😂
a local brand :)
It will be much better if you can all your fingers on virtual, but is something will eventualy happen in the software update
that's crazy
I want this so bad. Please
Wow
8:10 LMAO, am going to hell for laughing at this
How hard is it to mirror the vision pro to an existing screen? When I get one of these, I want family to see what I’m experiencing.
You can screen mirror and cast trailers on Apple TV to demonstrate what you’re talking about next time without getting copyrighted or seeing a black screen. Movie trailers will show just fine when screen mirroring. You’re welcome
Is it possible to use it with glasses?
no you need Zeiss lenses :)
@@NoahHerman Gotcha, can't wait for this to arrive to europe
We are, you're not ready!
no you're not ;)
@@NoahHermani’m kinda ready
the real review will be in a year, yes its amazing at first blush but in a year are you still using it day in and day out or has it lain in the corner for 2 or 3 months
i would be surprised if i didn't use it at 2-3 times a day on a regular basis... indefinitely!

Who needs an Apple Pencill? You have your fingers - Tim Apple
Hopefully in future Vision OS updates they allow for non foveated recording, it’s not too distracting but you definitely can see where you are looking since the rest is a bit blurry. I think someone has already found some hacky workaround though.
They can record non foveated, but it causes the whole thing to lag, a cording to MKBHD
@@BitcoinIsGoingToZerowhat is foveated?

Video was way too long to consider watching. Thank you for making chapters at least so I could find the parts I was interested in.
glad that helped :)
Great review. Question: Can you scroll multiple windows simultaneously?
i don't think so :)
@@NoahHerman Probably not with the pinch gesture. However, can you scroll by „touching“ two windows at the same time?
cool video
I think it would be a good little addition if there was a way (a gesture, maybe triple tap of finger) which brings the window you're looking on, closer to you, so you can interact with it using your index finger. And then doing the gesture again puts the window back to where it was originally. This would be nice if you want to focus on a particular window quickly like a screen. Like with HBO apk you can put it far away to consume media then do the gesture to swipe normally with your finger then do the gesture again to put the window far.
can you connect to the macbook then close the macbook's screen?
no
I am ready 😊
My problem is that it is only compatible with other Apple products. If it worked with Windows PC's that would be great. But nobody has said anything that it will. Plus, the price is quite expensive. One could purchase a brand new computer for that price. I realize they are coming out with a version that is about 1,500 in cost. But even that is way overpriced.
So many of these features have been available on the quest 2&3 for awhile , keyboard typing and multitasking on screens and so many more oh and plus YOU CAN PLAY REAL VR GAMES OR PLAY PCVR
Awesome vid! What I’d like to know is what using AirPods Max with is like. They’re better then AirPods Pro for noise cancelling on a plane
can u coding with it ?
with the Mac passthrough i'd imagine that's possible :)
This is not a full review , me checking the video duration 🤯🤯
yeah it's not, just an in depth demo... more "final" thoughts will come later ;)
Saw one guy got pulled over for driving his Tesla with his Vision Pro 😅😅😅 now ingenious but apple 🍎 should think about teaming up with Tesla to create a whole new drive-by app 😅😅😅😅
I challenge you to use the default band, try moving it up or down before you tighten it to give equal pressure. For me it’s better than the dual
i really like the solo too!! it's very stylish and more comfortable than i initially thought
Your face is looking red lol but I agree very impressive tech
10:54 The air typing look alright but I can see this method is painfully slow.
It’s definitely slower, but it’s a lot of fun and convenient when you don’t want to use dictation
I started crying when using it watching twerking videos on youtube.
oh i bet i bet
Oops I forgot where I put my Spotify app is so funny to me.
IT IS 😂😭
Noah, my body is totally ready, it's my wallet that's not ready, nearly $5,000 for the buildout I would get is a little much for what would be a luxury tech item. AVP is probably their best 1st Gen release I've seen, the only one I was tempted by the 1st gen. Thinking back, no other Apple 1st gen has tempted me, not the iPod (till 5th gen), iPhone (till 4th gen), iPad (till Pro 2nd gen), or Apple Watch (till 4th gen). AVP on release is much more polished than I would have expected, even more so than what I felt the iPhone was when it released. If the price is right, Gen 2 or 3 might have me.
This thing is so dangerous for introverts. As if we needed another thing to make it easier for us to withdraw from reality/the world.
I'm surprised AVP didn't launch with user accounts, it's like iPad all over again. With optic ID and easy to swap fitment accessories, it would be so easy to switch between users. If any Apple device could benefit from user accounts, it's this. It might lessen the cost burden if this could be shared between close friends, room/house mates or with a partner/spouse.
I already hear users complaining about the (commercial) adult content situation on AVP. Sending 3D nudes is totally going to become a thing. I would be surprised if someone hasn't already done it.
First im a legend 😎
It took me a bit but I finally just finished this video… Everyone is raving about Marques’ video, but personally, I think yours puts his to shame. I love how candid you were in talking about it and using it. I guess less technical talk and more real life talk if that makes sense. You covered everything the others did and more, at least for me.
I also love that you had your 1st gen iPhone out. I still kick myself for not keeping mine. We had two that we kept for about 4 years but ended up selling one and giving the other to our daughter when she broke her phone, then she ended up breaking that one. It makes me furious thinking about it. Anyway, thanks for an awesome video, it’s definitely my personal favorite of all of them!!
PS: Also, I just subscribed!
thanks for the comment and sticking around ❤️ also, you can def find some OG iPhone's on eBay! just do a little digging and i'm sure you can find something nice :)

you're so pretty; followed.
The title it's more accurate like "APPLE VISION PRO it's NOT ready" lol! .. After the FUN ... Comes real work ... and AVP it's EMPTY
Though I would agree that it is generally not ready for the public, this product is definitely a development kit essentially. That being said I have seen some videos of people using this for a work from home setup and they are able to position many applications around them and have a large monitor, this could make people more productive.
you wouldn't know unless you try it ;)
(Not So) Ready Player One
i mean the environments feel like that but yeah the point of visionOS is to enmesh your space with apps/media
Why are people wearing it outside in this form factor. That's what I don't understand. I don't think this is designed for outside use, yet.
Because it's robust enough to be worn outside even in its current form as a gen 1 product.
wow the intro
ty boss ❤️
So curious to know Apple's plan about year gap between each generation for this device.
Loved seeing how a normal person reacts to such an incredible piece of tech. The excitement really got me 😂❤
Anyone else notice an uptick in Apple emails advertising their credit card? Hmmm… im thinking prob 1 out of every 1000 people that get that email will make that bad decision knowing damn well they can’t afford it
I can't believe someone hasn't added AI speech to text using something like Meta Whisper, way better than some annoying VR keyboard. People forget, touch screens have been around from the 90's, We didn't all jump on trying to work with computers using touch. You ever tried keeping your arms out in front of you for prolonged periods? hahaha it gets painful very quickly, Keyboard and mouse + voice control is where this needs to go.
keyboard and mouse and dictation is def more convenient. but the floating keyboard is fun ;)

Under Steve Jobs, we got:
Macintosh, iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, and more.
Under Tim Cook, we got:
Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, and more to come.
These 2 Baby Boomers have hit some major home runs. I'm sure Tim - and his successors - will keep up the good work. Well, done. And excellent review.
I’m very proud of both Steve and Tim. They really have knocked it out of the park!
what happens if you walk around fully immersed in an environment?
I thought you were tell Apple Vision Pro, that it wasn't ready for the market yet.

Apple Vision Pro is iPhone 3G.
yeah and right now we're in 2008 and it's the best thing yet!
Thanks for the great review. I can’t wait to get one as soon as it is available where I live. As of the price, yes it is high but, you know, there are much more expensive handbags around…
Next gen will be Vision Pro 5G 😄 then 5G[s]
they are already working on the vision air and a new m3 version with r2 roflmao "3 years" yeah right buddy... *rolls eyes* you don't know new apple.
it took them a while to miniaturize the tech into THIS... but i guess we'll have to see ;))
@@NoahHerman watch a teardown, the front display takes up WAY too much space and it adds to the weight and kills your battery. it is utterly useless and adds to the cost of build. I feel like they tacked it on to make it worth $3500 instead of $3000.
Tell me you've never tried VR without telling me you've never tried VR
i have and it all sucked compared to this
I had a demo at my local store, this thing really wow me , it’s the most amazing piece of tech I ever try in my life yet, this is the most exciting thing apple ever released yet, it’s like you have the IPhone, Mac, IPad, AirPod, apple TV and more in one piece of tech, it might not be for the mass public yet, it’s still not perfect, it’s a first generation product, but if you really into tech, love apple products and don’t mind dumping thousands of dollars on it, trust me you will love it
Will definitely get one myself
This is truly the feature
I think it's been said that using it on a plane actually doesn't work since windows are meant to stay at a specific point in space? So the windows just fly off behind you at 550 mph. Although I'm sure an airplane mode with fixed positions relative to your face would be an update if indeed you can't already do that.
There’s a travel mode in control center that makes windows fly with you.
It works on a plane
@@akunpo3443 nice thanks, I haven’t seen a reviewer mention it or have success with it yet. Just the videos of windows flying away.
@@Connor_Herman yeah I used it in a car and it worked pretty well. I imagine it would be even better on a plane tho cause it’s smoother.
I know if you have the money to buy this thing another $145 for glasses inserts is probably in the budget but man does it stink that you have to pay more as someone who has shit eyes to use this device. I get it but still… sucks
31:48 it's almost like replaying a memory... when you said that it just reminded me of Black Mirror (I think it was the first season) where that couple was having sex but replaying memories from past relationships or something. Just made me think like where this vision pro is going in relation to the porn industry. Pretty wild but where there's money to be made.. huh... I can imagine already porn stars selling sex experiences or even real people recording themselves... And tbh that's just the most mildest bad thing I can see coming from this.
