it is so fine to see a group of young musicians covering a classic such as this! i bet there are many people smiling as they enjoy this! keep it up kids!
Yeah, this band is really good. Every member can play and/or sing great. They recently finished their their first album and several songs have been released. But what they are writing and recording now is fantastic. Matt Benfield on guitar is an extremely gifted writer, player, and singer, and the rest of the band are the cream of the crop from SW Florida, each also contributing creatively and by their great chops. Watch this band. They are destined for greatness and whoever eventually signs them will have a great addition to their label. Joe/Ormond Beach
Holy PHUCK! You guys really nailed MTB, I mean.....wow. This Ol Cowboy...did you actually just.... I can't even...gonna just have to listen again. Wow. Blows me away. Keys, drums, bass, vocals, guitar....pros, all. These peeps can PLAY, hotdamn. American music lives on.
EXSQUISITE!! What a GROOVE! TASTY AS HELL! GREAT playing. Great vocals. Of course, it always helps when you have a GREAT well-written song. You should release that!
OMG!!! You guys and girl are incredible, amazing version of a phenomenal MTB song that could be my favorite all time song. Thanks for giving me goose bumps and hats off to you for carrying on the touching and inspiring music of The MTB!! Toy, Tommy, Doug, George, Paul and Jerry are all proud of you someplace....
Exceptional performance, this is one of my favorite songs by a legendary band. A band I grew up with. I’ve played for over 50 years and played this track as a young man. You gave it a breath of fresh air and renewed life, for this I thank you. I believe your craftsmanship and talent has no bounds. I’m glad to see younger musicians who can still practice their crafts. I’ve subscribed and added you to my watch list, I look forward to see what the future holds for you. Remember, the only reason people aren’t listening is they don’t know yet, give time a chance to do its magic. 😎
I knew this had to be down south somewhere...because up here in the Pacific Northwest there is nothing going on outside in February other than shivering....especially Central Oregon. I love the Marshall Tucker Band... This is a good rendition of one their songs...
@@moonstoneriders7664 long way from Florida...South Dakota. Grew up in New Orleans, you guys reminded me in musical spirit of the Allmon Brothers band; tight and funky as hell!
You guys are a rare treat. I am glad you performed this live instead of dead. :) I want to compliment you all. Your drummer scares me. I would want him on my side in a bar fight. I am only 6'5". And the keyboard player is killer. You all are family to me. You probably don't want me, but you sing this song so well. Every time your bass player tilts his head it reminds me of my son. As long as I am going all out the girl lead singer reminds me of my stepsister Carol, only better looking. I really love you all, I will tell everybody from now on. I know TMI, I didn't mean any harm. You ALL remind me of my family, only you can play music.
They all sound great I love the harmonies and the version of this song. And that piano player is solid as hell. made me look at this song differently I do sing it and play it in my band. I'm going to change the version up conversion up a little bit.
Just listened to MTB. Keep going. You are on the right track. Maybe 2023 will be good! You already made my 2023 good. Thanks! Excellent! Your bass player reminds me of my son. Sorry, the rest of you seem like rock stars.
Oh yeah, the keyboard player reminds me of Bob Carpenter of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. That drummer could still kick my ass even though I love him., I just can't put my finger on him, but will come to me. I think he should have been in a Magnum PI episode where he solves the crime. :)
While I really appreciate Doug Gray and current bandmates keeping the music alive, over time they have morphed away from the heart and soul of the band that is Toy Caldwell. There's room for different interpretations to be sure, but i love this take on This Ol' Cowboy as it's true to the original spirit of the MTB but you're not hung up on playing it note for note. I firmly believe TC would be proud of your rendition and what of yourselves poured into it. In spirit it reminds me of the Dyrty Byrds version of Cattle Drive or Zac Brown's take on Can't You See. Both of these can be found on TH-cam. Thank you for taking the risk of doing what you're doing. Keep the faith!
Thanks! A 3XL Navy T-shirt is on the way! I love your website. It will take a while to look thru it all. I just wanted you to know I got a T-shirt ordered.
