I've uploaded this to another channel to see whether the algorithm shares it around a bit more! Thanks for being a part of it! Even if you've seen this before, please like and subscribe to help this spare channel of mine pick up traction so that more people get recommended the series 😊
To control excursion, put a cabin on the back of the driver like a folded horn does. Put sound absorption material in the cabin behind the driver (magnet side)
Comment here for the Al Gore rhythm. I REALLY love the lows so this box has my interest peaked!!! As far as testing a similar box to this, I want to see it for the simple fact that it can show either how important box design is and how small changes can make a huge difference, or it would show that a well designed box isn’t much different than what this one did.
Awesome work, your designs and detailed tests are super impressive and really helpful for understanding the concepts better! The spiral enclosure is especially fascinating - any chance you'd be willing to share the .step file? Keep it up!
Calculate the spiral precisely for your subwoofer. Then you will have the result you want. Horn speakers work on the life principle. In the past they did not have the watts that we have today. That is why they had to build horn speakers so that they had a good range and produced a good sound.
I'd have put the speaker facing the port on it side using the space behind it as a sealed box or just free air. It's design reminds me of a horn. Like a war horn or something
When you have a driver that has a low enough Q, I will send you a Paraflex design or 2 from the Paraflex community! Also have you considered as you are using Rew to use doing the proper industry loudness test and to be fair with the summations consider filtering the LF for each design!! All horn loaded enclosures, the driver offloads below the mouths tuning resonance.
This comment had me check ur videos out. Good stuff... agree most don't understand the science (& a little bit of magic ) to correctly design & build what they desire. Enclosure size vs Enclosure size. Watt vs watt ( ohms law for true power being equal) some of us are searching for the unicorn that the leprechaun is riding... looking forward to learning more...
@@nnperformance76 I love what he is doing here, great content. I have made a submission or recommendation for a new driver to be used. Tang Band W2-2040S 2" it has a useable Fs 70hz, high Ebp for all these designs being sent in and by including a CTA 2010 measurement would be incredible way to share true results in performance enclosure to enclosure. My humble opinion. Ah my video's are boring lol, not for everyone but we got some nice stuff for 2025 which is more appropriate. Much respect!
@The-Sound-Guy appreciate the reply... I also appreciate and believe in his dream (well our liked minds dream). And not giving up on it... you also commented on giving up in 1 vedio (glad ur not) looking forward to 2025 for both of ur content subscribed & happily waiting to see what the future has in store... easiest way to kill a dream is to listen to small minds that don't share the passion...happy new year.
That would be awesome for season 2! I have a driver with a 0.4 Qts, tricky finding ones that are lower and still maintain other specs required for this application haha 😊 look out for updates for S2 on my main channel Barevids!
@@bassoprofondo8435 I sent you an email, promise that little Tangband for what you are doing has a very high Ebp and I think around 5mm Xmax. Happy new years to everyone!
Yes lots of plans! I'm excited for it, it'll be a slightly different format to season 1, the testing will be the same behind the scenes, but the presentation of the videos will be different! You have to wait and see! I'm getting the PT cruiser regardless, but it's a long drive away so I'm just waiting for a convenient time to go and grab it🎉
Yes! Genelec studio monitor subwoofers use similar concept. It goes low 16hz c0 pipe organ is possible. Although i don't think Genelec 7382A will do more than 100dB at 16hz because i saw 92dB 10hz with similar cone surface area. I don't understand how some people get 147dB and are still alive because it can kill a person. It's mostly a lie. I myself don't exceed safe db spl equipment and my equipment isn't capable too. But, i did see 128-141dB churches, temples, mosques etc use speakers rated beyond threshold of pain. Although it's not safe but not sure if using such speakers will be bad for all the devotees.
Can you do some with this recent driver cab cut the height in half and I guarantee it will be a lot louder …. The driver space is twice the size of what it should be. For these kinds of enclosures for the drivers you need a smaller driver space for it.
How about one thats a regular properly sized by the sub, then a masive rectagonal tapered port mega phone that is stepped with sharp 90° edges all the way into the port.
Сделай длину канала 12 м. В теории фаза должна развернуться на 180 градусов на 30Гц. К сожалению у меня нет такой возможности что бы напечатать. А механическим способом мне не удалось создать такой канал вручную.
Hey brother, nice content. Please for the sake of people who are technically inclined try not say "scaled Hz" Rather call it as it is, you have such a wonderful channel and great potential however using the wrong terms can put a massive amount of people off. Keep up the good work ❤

@@barevids the genius of horn design is . Bill fitzmaurice. Hope that opens doors sir..
147 @ 25Hz is my type of enclosure! :)
I use a midwoofer for everything above 50Hz so... its a yes from me!
no way Bassotronics commented😱

Hello!
I've been subscribed to this channel for many years. Sam is one of the best car audio guys in the world.

Would really love a hexibase entry ❤❤❤

Still love these videos
Yo this reminds me of the Nautilus from Bowers and Wilkins. Never thought of putting a sub in something like this.
Great job

The B & W nautilus answered this question decades ago.
You need to get the b2 audio 2 inch sub and redo the series that would be cool 😊😊😊
here you go lol th-cam.com/video/kzvHNxy3RbY/w-d-xo.html
Its a folded horn. Been in use for decades.
...but it's not folded
Happy New Year, SAM!
Scale build up to a 18 and seal of rear of woofer with this build possibly it could be the greatest subwoofer ever made

The opening must follow the golden rule. Exponential..
Golden rule/fibonacci series is sum of previous values kinda of quasi exponential en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio
