From Apple Original Films, “F1” stars Brad Pitt as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid. The feature is being shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport.
The star-studded cast also includes Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, and Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award nominee Tobias Menzies, Emmy Award nominee Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.
Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”) directs and produces the feature alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment; and Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner.
The film is made in collaboration with Formula 1® and the F1 community, including the 10 F1 teams and their drivers, the FIA, and race promoters. Copper CEO Penni Thow serves as executive producer.
“F1” will be distributed in theaters around the world and in IMAX® by Warner Bros. Pictures, opening in Cinemas in India on June 27, 2025. Made in collaboration with Formula 1®, the new film is immersed in the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1, as filming takes place at races on the sport’s calendar.

Because of that one shot of the driver in the cockpit and your simple brain just instantly made a connection to Top Gun.

Rush has set a high bar for f1 movies. Hope this ll live up to that level
2013's movie RUSH is a sports biopic movie with a genre historical golden era of Formula 1. And this 2025 sports action drama film F1 BRAD PITT brings the modern era of Formula 1. It's shows a story about fictional team APXGP just like in the Playstation game F1 23 KONNERSPORTS team. In movie brief plotline showcase how a veteran F1 racer comes out from his retirement and train and race alongside with a rookie racer against titan F1 racers.

@@abulhassan146 Although this High octane racing movie F1 couldn't come close to Rush, But makers are trying to create it as much realistic and authentic feel for cinematic experience for us. And the story is similar to EA's F1 game F1: BREAKING POINT and BREAKING POINT 2.
this will be more closer to Top Gun than Rush tbh.
Rush 2 showing 2 rivalries of Ayerton senna vs alan prost & Schumacher vs mika hakkinen would have been so cool to watch. Although rush was such a great standalone film. Sometimes good movies just don't need a sequel. Unless its preplanned like tdk or unless its mad max fury road.
Now these are the types of movies which we expect from Hollywood 👌😍
