I'm 63 and I still play Skyrim. I've even modded it too. And on several occasions. Last time was back in February of this year. Got some 300 mods running in game right now and every 6 months, I come back to give it another bash with another character.
Unfortunately there’s a glitch where once you part ways with her, she can no longer be your follower, as you’ll be unable to enter dialogue with her. Shame, because she’s quite an impressive follower.

Ralis Sedarys is an amazing follower who becomes available after completing the Unearthed questline and sparing his life. He is a dual-wielder with dual wielding perks, a fantastic archer, and has a great personality. Skyrim veterans know him as arguably the deadliest follower in the game.
Eola has a very under rated stat. she is a breton + resistance perk at rank 1. this means she has a standard magic resistance of 35%. you can easily get her to 100% magic resistance, there is no resistance cap for followers btw.
Honestly, I can't stand using Serana. If I had a Septim for every time I start forging armor/weapons and turned around to find her 'using' the grindstone/armor bench/enchanting table that I was about to use, I would be able to buy all of Skyrim, and have enough left over to hire the Brotherhood to deal with Nazeem.
when thinking about followers i usually catigorise them into categories of equipment,1 handers (+shield or duel furry), 2 handers, archers and mages (mainly looking for destruction anyway since you can give them a summoning staff to any follower). also some tips, look at your followers perks on the wiki so see what weapons and armors would be best to give them. archery is fairly important no matter what type your follower is, this is because all followers get a bow that you cant remove so they will all use it very often
Nice list. Personally i disagree (or at least i have some doubts) for some picks, but is my personal experience adn opinion, it's hard to rank those followers in a 100% perfect way. - As a caster, i like Illia for his massive use of frost spells (is a great tactic tool vs warriors, and ice storm is great vs groups of foes), but frost is also the most resisted elemental type in Skyrim, plus for the overall stats and spells i think ERANDUR is better: larger mana and HP pool (the HP is even higher than Lydia), fire spells have a better damage output, he is quite strong even with the mace if he eventually runs out of magika, and he uses staves (if given) more often than many other followers (often than Illia too). If i have to choose knowing i will face hordes of warrior bandits/undeads, and if i'm quite sure i can tank and defend her, i will go, with Illia, in any other case i probably go for Erandur. - As a tank, over Mjioll and Stenvar (and maybe even over Farkas) i prefer by a lot IONA (Rift housecarl) and CELANN (Dawnguard warrior): the stat distributions are perfect (100 in Heavy armor, OneHanded, Block, plus over 90 Archery for both), great HP pool for both, 50 lv cap for Iona, no level cap for Celann. -Another observation: in the video you say about Cicero "if you can tolerate his random jigs...". Why tolerate? Those jygs are a plus! he is one of the funnies (non mod) followers BECAUSE of those jigs and dances! PS: while choosing the strongest is always matters of debate, choosing the weakest is far easier. Tie between Sven and Roggi
A personal Favorite Archers of mine is Anekke Crag-Jumper, she's at darkwater crossing and I like her flexibility as an archer or decent stealth companion
Favorite Vanilla follower would have to be Lydia or Serana- but I use a lot of modded add-ons cause they're kina dull otherwise. My favorite Modded followers are Vilja and Inigo!
I never stick to the vanilla followers. I only mod and the three best by far are Kaidan, Inigo, and Lucien. But I do like J'Zargo, Marcurio and the Companions.
Illia is my go to Mage. If you use mods like AFT her level cap means nothing since she will level up as you do. For Tank I use Lydia but any of the housecarls will do since they are all the same skills and level wise. I never use a stealth type follower so I have no suggestion for that.
There's one follow I like, and she's the one tending the Statue of Azura - She's the priestess, Aranea Ienith As for Cicero. I can't stand him. In fact, I don't like the Dark Brotherhood group and their quests. It wasn't until I found out that you can kill Astrid in that hut, then you can go to their lair and take the whole group out once you've reported that you've killed Astrid to Commander Maro at Dragons Bridge. Though, I'd love to know who you found out all of these NPC's stats?
I use mods so i just give my follower a ring that makes them invincible and then i use whoever. My main usually goes out with his wife, Muiri. I hate mages like Mauricio though. They destroy everything. As in all the schutff in the room. Any of the companions are solid.
Give your follower boots enchanted with sneak and gloves with unarmed damage,,,,, They sprint up to the enemy and upper cut kill the enemy before you even have a chance to get your Zephyr out!!!🖖😁
This is probably a hot take cause they’re both fan favorites, but I actually don’t really like traveling with Serana or Mjoll. They’re good, but their dialogue triggers way too often. I just get tired of hearing about how mjoll is itching for a fight or hearing serana complain about the weather every 10 seconds. I usually just prefer running with the more quiet ones cause hearing them say the same 4-5 lines on loop so often just drives me nuts after a while.
@@edwin.dugan7 No, you can leave him alive. Astrid does her best at convincing you to kill him but you can leave him alive and will actually help rebuild the Dawnguard Santuray. He becomes a follower if you leave him alive

I work alone. Sounds really lonely, but I always end by killing accidentally my follower. Runs in fireball or get an arrow in the knee.

Jenassa makes a great sneaky follower before you get cicero
Aela is quite aggressive, but reliable.
I find serana to be the best companion, if only for the reason that seh is always essential
I like mercurio for my warrior builds, he provides distant cover fire and i can normally tank his mishap spells lol

You can with mods. One mod allows you to have 512 followers. Now most people would never get that high but it's something to think about lol.
