My neighbors of 27 years are like family. We live on a dirt road, 3 miles long with 9 houses. One home on our hill is a tree service. This wonderful family will drop off logs all year long on our property. We share this wonderful blessing with another family on the hill. We were able to cut, split, and stack over 11 cords of wood this year. 6 went to our neighbors, and we kept 5. They in turn showed up at our home today with one of their farm fresh organic turkeys (27 pounds!!!) My hubby harvested a 10 point buck last week, and we shared the bounty. It's all about community, and the one that I have I wouldn't trade for all the tea in world.
Hi I'm from cheshire England Just read your comment Exactly how things should be Help each other , I wish it were like that here I'm one for helping Giving but the line stops there ,I don't expect any thing back but its a good job too It like each to there own here But was so nice to read about ur nieghbors and urself The world would be a better place if every one were the same
Reducing unnecessary stress during these coming months is going to be important for so many. Instead of watching or reading news online, I go to the pantry to organize, clean something in the house, or make something in the kitchen. I feel better and get more accomplished.
I agree. I have begun working on two things that I have been putting off for a couple of years. 1. Cleaning out a storage shed 2. writing down some recipes on paper. It's amazing how good it feels to accomplish this.
Keep on healing Sistah! I’ve been listening to Neil Howe ever since you first mentioned the Fourth Turning. But inside, I’ve ALWAYS had a survival mode wired in me…I’m 64 but I preserve however I can…Canning, freezing, fermenting….whatever I grow or find on sales. Here in 🇨🇦…not a growing season, but my balcony is a great freezer in my coolers. I do like to portion for freezer meals (like lasagna, leftovers etc)….Folks, what I’m trying to say….is keep listening to Leisa…this is real, and it’s GLOBAL, so please, do what you can to stay ahead…blessings to everyone…take care from 🇨🇦
Oh! Just an added thought…. I’ve also been learning soap making! Folks… you can learn anything if you’re committed to! Keep stacking it to the rafters!
Lisa, I agree that we need to rearrange priorities. I took my first class in hand gun safety this week. I was shaking like a leaf for a good part of it, but I did it. I've never backed down from challenges before, and my instructor was wonderful and guided and encouraged me. I'll be making room in my budget for more practice sessions at the range and eventually purchasing whatever weapon feels best for me. This was 100% out of my comfort zone; but then again, so were giving birth to a child, driving across the U.S. alone, and skydiving. Stay alive by learning or give in to the alternative.
I saw this coming 2 years ago and glad I did. I live like my grandparents did who lived through the depression. If it is a want I don't get it. All vacations are on hold and no extra money is spent. Any medical issues are being taken care of before the end of the year. Get out of debt if you can people!
Our parents on social security struggle each month. I thank the Lord we are able to help and have for many years. It’s part of why we give our kids things like beef for Christmas…we buy a cow each year and that’s their gift. I pray we can continue to take care of our family old and young for many years.
Leisa, you are a Rockstar!! Thank you for sponsoring a women’s self defense course for your area. How refreshing seeing women support women. God bless you and praying for you to be fully back quickly.
High 5. I started prepping in ernest in 2020 when my hubby's restaurant was closed down a week before St. Pat's day, which is his biggest day of the year. Lucky, we're in NYC & there was a fire house around the block & we told them to take whatever food they wanted. We took home a couple of corned beefs & slabs of salmon that we added to our fridges/ freezers. I started watching every prepper channel around. At this point I only regularly watch 2, yours mainly. Thank you. You always give valuable information. I even started canning. Realize, in NYC No one cans or even heard of it. 😂
Today, I taught my daughter how to make homemade butter. With heavy cream, seasalt and olive oil and used a kitchen aid for mixing then cheese cloth to squeeze out the liquid and water rinse.. it tastes so delicious then we made egg 🥚 and muffin sandwich with the homemade butter 🧈. So delicious 😋 Next going to teach her and my step daughter how to make bread here soon. Then teach them how to can soup, stews and sauces. Im working on getting the money together to get then they're own water bath pan and a pressure canner so they can do their own canning with the teaching them so they are comfortable doing it themselves.
Leisa, I appreciate you. I am 70, a widow for 11 years. I live on SS. My world has shrunk to a 15th wheel on someone else’s property. I have concentrated on not using up my monthly income and saving money. My family around me think money grows on trees. They have a job loss and it’s Henny Penny/Chicken Little time. Time for me to fork over to make up for their stupidity. I don’t have much room but I have tried to prepare for disaster but no one around me is. I tried to encourage water storage and it’s “I care about the environment so I’m just going to use my Brita 😳 Ok. Okay…What are you going to do when there’s no water coming out of the faucet?! You’ll be over begging for water. 😠. Anyway, I rant. I’m not trying to be Debbie Downer but I can’t help worrying that when the going gets tough there are going to be marauders and looters 😢. Now I’m Henny Penny/Chicken Little 🥺
So happy to see you are healing well. We are having a rough time financially right now but have a pantry full for a year ot more. Hubby just got a deer today so lots more healthy meat.
I think I have potentially 6 months food and daily essentials stocked (family of 3). I've been amping up my grocery orders lately to keep any gaps filled and to be ready for what 2025 might bring. My basement pantry is literally stacked to the floor joists. My dad is the emergeny bucket and MRE guy. I know nutrition isn't fantastic in those but something is better than nothing. Everything that happened in 2020 with the supply chain is what made me start preparing. Thank you for all you share with us!
We moved from Vancouver to Regina, Saskatchewan for financial security…we bought a beautiful condo for $140,000, no mortgage, no debt. When we moved, we brought over 1000lbs of pantry with us. Hubs is in camp in Northern BC…I have lived for 2 months out of this pantry with my only needs being some arugula and craft beer. He’s coming in on Dec 19th….all I need is a poinsettia and some lamb shank. You’re an incredible teacher Leisa! Edit: I included the condo info because we have entered the most wonderful, small community here! Everybody came by with a casserole!
I live in a small town in Manitoba. I did the same. Down-sized, no mortgage, no credit card debt, emergency fund ready, small garden and preserve, preserve, preserve. Live well within my means. Basically zero crime here. I can name every cat and dog in town. Neighbours help neighbours. In a blizzard right now, I don’t have to leave the house for 3 months if I don’t want to. Stitch in time saves nine!
Hello, I am Carol Strickland from Nikiski, Alaska. I was partially raised by a Quaker grandmother who had 2 pantries. One in the kitchen for daily and the larger walk in for staples. Since getting married and having kids up here in earthquake territory I had an evacuation kit first thing. Every other year I go in and rotate that food. I also have a working pantry that was a life saver for I was in the hospital for 3 months and they only needed milk and bread- they ate out of the pantry and freezer. That was over 10 years ago. Since then I have stepped up my canning and pantry as well as other necessities (1st aid, heat, etc.). My husband has been helping the past couple years and this summer we updated the long term storage and have better labels and it’s in a notebook. The notebook has helped me find things I wanted. After taking it out of “storage”, I sticky note where and the item goes and put it on shopping list. As items get used they go on list to replace. As I can, for example, beef stew- we like the potatoes and there are a couple in the jar but I can potatoes too so we open two jars stew and potatoes and it’s very filling often with at least a lunch leftover. I keep a running list for replacements and for the working pantry. I go to store for milk and bread(lazy) and yogurt (bought kit to start making my own). Rest of the shopping is periodically for replacement or sales and extra, extra good too. I appreciate your videos. I am also doing some herbalism and it helps. Many blessings to you and yours. Stay safe. I keep stacking to the rafters. 👍👏🖖
Amazing! My dad was Nikiski dock manager around 1970. I attended Kenai High School. We lived in one of the apartments above the warehouse. Many years ago!
Homemade yogurt: 2 quarts whole milk, bring to 185 degrees and hold for a few minutes at that temp. Let it cool to 115 degrees and mix in 1/4 to 1/3 cup unflavored, unsweetened yogurt that is as fresh as you can get it before the expiration date. Warm the oven to 120 in the mean time. Place a folded towel on the lower rack, place cooled pan of milk with a well fitted lid on towel and cover with another folded towel, close oven door and leave for 12 hours. You will be thrilled with the yummy, inexpensive yogurt. Enjoy.
I love all these stories! Keep em coming! I found those books challenging to read, but they were so worth it! I did it in phases so I could absorb the info. I really buy into their data and logic and immediately saw the evidence all around me. Reading them is when I doubled down on my preps. I stopped storing extra and canning favorite foods like I always have, and started targeted prepping to provide complete self sufficiency for my family if my lifestyle is interrupted. This meant more water prepping, cooking/heating/power prepping, protein canning, etc. still working on financial prepping since we had a long 2 years of job losses and medical emergencies to cope with. Thank you thank you for focusing my efforts!
Uncertain times like this is so very stressful that is why we need our family and friends more than ever . I am dealing with my son who is sick and reason unknown as well as a dear friend with heart disease so I am glad that I have been planning for the unknown since June. Thanks to you I gathered together items I hadn't thought of. Wishing you healing and return to good health. Thank you
Just watched several videos made by people who survived the twin hurricanes. They were obviously preppers. However, a common thread running through the videos was this " when the crisis hit, it was hard to think of everything to do, where all the supplies were". The one fix to this problem was "keep a record of where the emergency supplies are". The second problem was..storage in cardboard boxes. Use plastic totes. The third was the need for more water than one gallon per person per day (plus water for pets or live stock). When we had two 500 year, back to back floods, the rivers and many creeks became polluted with whatever was in peoples garages ie oil, paint, paint thinner, pesticides etc. Last but not least...sewage disposal.
@@SuttonsDaze I know. You have talked about being organized, taking inventory, having enough water and so on. I guess it takes being confronted with an actual emergency to drive the point home. I have begun to forget where I have put things. Anyway, keep up the good work. I am now writing down on paper a few recipes. It was something I knew I should do but never got around to it.
Thank you Leisa. I hope that the Lord continues to heal and bless you. Thank you all for sharing in the comments community. My SHTF MOMENT. Came when my husband lost his job in June and then he had two heart blockages and a stroke. We were prepared pantry and freezer wise. We are blessed to keep on Keepin on. May you all be blessed ❤🙏🕊️
Leisa - as NATO missiles have been used - Finland Sweden and Netherlands have updated the 32 page instruction for Preparedness - I emailed you a copy - btw remember a FULL freezer uses less electricity - if not food then (almost ) full plastic cartons of water - tc
We are horrible and have bad tap water so we drink bottled spring water normally a 24 pack a day for four of us, more every weekend as my grandson is here. I keep bottles filled and marked freezer, remove as more food goes in and add more as it comes out. I have a cart right next to the freezer with a bunch ready to go in. I am trying to get used to filtered water now, I love spring water...lol Water bottles for freezers always.
They also recently had their underwater Internet cables purposefully severed. Lithuania to Sweden, and Finland to Germany. I believe Putin is already preparing for an invasion or some type of oppression. They are testing the waters IMO. There is going to be some kind of chaos coming their way, and frankly, globally. IMO
As a rural librarian with a small budget, I love that you sponsored that class. I love it when community members share ideas for and or sponsor programs.
I have gotten so much informative, affordable and doable information from you. I have my system totally down now. I do continue to add just a little like $5 cash so that I can have a nest egg just in case of SHTF. I am so glad your procedure went smoothly! ❤
Leisa you are a warrior. Very impressive on how you are still able to do your videos as you are recovering. You are always well prepared and have valuable information. I love your channel. Praying for a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
@ I’ll bet you are sore. 😢 I’d send you a hug but it would hurt. 😉 BTW, with your help, I’m turning the second bedroom into my “store”…no more scrapbooking. However, I’m still keeping my supplies for making cards. Maybe you’ll get one someday. That’s my creative outlet. It makes me happy. DH has neuro cognitive issues at 62. Can’t work or drive. He is all on board with prepping NOW. Yahoo!! I keep Aldi chocolate stocked for him. Thanks for listening and sharing.
I applaud your decision to sponsor a women’s self defense class. Yes, you are so committed to being prepared and ensuring that we are as well. Thank you. Hope that you heal very soon.
Well guess we here are going to be getting snow . Still working on " re- building " my pantry , again. Am going to keep moving forwards no looking back. Grandma and mama up in heaven is watching out for me. Your a breath of fresh air to my lungs Lizia and a strong spirited woman bless you for making me laugh though this whole mess. You have given me the strenght my soul has been searching for so long.
I am relatively new to your channel and just learning prepping. Doing what a can with limited income!:) appreciate you and your advice and I have goals for end of year to get something I can cook without electricity and heating device that doesn’t require electricity as I’m in cold climate in Wi! Pray for a speedy recovery for you Leisa! Love your practical advice and down to earth and to the point. But at same time not a fear monger!❤️🙏🏽
The first book is in my car. Read and on the way back to the library....I can also high-five you. So far, went to the store once this month. I wondered why my debit card didn't work at the check out. The cashier said I saved too much and the store manager had to come to the register with a key to do an override. I paid 40%. I laughed the whole way home...
Great video! So happy to see you here! At first I thought it would be one you'd pre recorded, glad it wasn't because I needed to hear what you had to say tonight. Thank you so much for your encouragement and for being there for us. Praying for healing and a smooth recovery!
WOW! This was a jam packed video! As a single senior I find myself doing something for prepping everyday. Prepping isn’t a “set it and forget” thing! Use what you have prepared and replenish to keep things fresh and updated. I was raised on a farm in Missouri in the 60’s. It wasn’t called prepping then, it was just life.
You look great. I’ve been canning, freezing and dehydrating for 44 years. Thanks to my MIL for teaching me. It’s just the 2 of us but I still can as if my 5 kids are home. I’m prepared for kids and grandkids needing a little help. I keep up 2 large gardens and a small orchard. I still forage at my age. I give any excess that I can’t use to friends, family and neighbors. You will not go hungry if you know me. I agree with you about what is happening in the world. I have never been so concerned as I am this time. We live in farm country. Our biggest manufacturing employer is John Deere. They are talking about moving production to Mexico. That is thousands of jobs in our community that could be lost. I remember the 80s when areas had 20% unemployment, interest rates in our area were 16% and higher. You couldn’t sell a home or buy a home. We survived it. I just didn’t think we would have to go through it again.
Praying for your speedy and full recovery Lisa! We will get through this thanks to your helpful advice. I started prepping in 2021 and am now able to go to the store only to restock. I have more to do but I'm already much better off than I was few years ago. Thank you for all you do!🙏
Thank you for the information you provide. I found your channel about 3 months ago and started preparing my , and general supplies. I am in the process of having a wood/gas fireplace put in for heat. My house is too small for a standing woodstove. Whenever I go into a store, I never leave without adding something for future times. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Glad you are on the mend, Leisa. Health problems (my own and those of family members) are my biggest obstacles to getting my act together for a perfect preparedness pantry. I finally got around to rotating cans a couple of weeks ago, and found a big mess where some had exploded! Lots of purging and cleaning was required. I can say that, although it was a lot of work, it was gratifying to look around and realize that I was plenty of good food remaining to see us through the winter. I pray that we will all be blessed with good health and peace.
Last night I ordered a pressure canner. I found a good deal and thought this was the best time to commit, before the tariff wars start. I have water bath canned forever. But I need to put together a better pantry for food that won't spike my blood sugars. So I am venturing into veggies and meats. I'm looking forward to the learning curve.
Praying for your healing. Congratulations to the people who were prepared. I am with them ready for anything. Thank you for the emails. Thank you for all you do. We all need to pray for this country. Don't quit doing what you are doing.
I grew up in a place and time when houses were built with pantry rooms - even flats often had small pantries - and it was just our way of life to keep ourselves stocked up. People were paid once a month and we did our big grocery shopping on the Saturday after payday. Then we had a civil war with shortages and strict rationing. In my first marriage, we lived 14km from the nearest wide place in the road and 70km from the nearest city. We had a smallholding. As my husband's job had him away for weeks at a time and I had no car, I worked the smallholding. The land and my labour provided our eggs, meat, dairy products, and most of our vegetables. I bottled, dried, and salted foods. I foraged wild foods. I had to be prudent and prepared - I had two children to feed and care for! Now I live in a city and I live the way I grew up: prudence, forethought and stockpiling. We could go about six months without having to buy anything than dairy products, eggs, and fresh produce. I shop sales and stock up. I do keep dried and canned milk and powdered eggs and am adding to that stash. I have several food sensitivities - I can't eat legumes, nuts, bananas (migraine triggers), or fish, seafood, and fungi - allergy with highly distressing consequences!
The perfect Storm of events that challenge survival. Anything folks are capable of doing to ensure less hardship is better than nothing. Keep in mind to cause no harm. Work together to thrive together. You All Got This! Another thing, Don't Panic. Deep breaths, and a prayer to your Higher Power never hurts.
Another great chat Leisa!!! I think everyone needs the constant nudge to continue and resist the temptation to think things are going to get better. They will👍 but it’s gonna be a minute! I’ve thought of you often since your surgery and pray for your speedy recovery!!! You look like you’re doing great!!!💖😘💖
I have the first book, not the second one. I invested in hard goods like Warren Buffet but in my case I sold stock and paid off my small mortgage. Paid off my truck. Paid off my debt. I already, just from reading history, left Dallas and moved to the mountains. This is normal life with oligarghs. I have a garden and deep pantry.
Really enjoyed hearing the letters. I have the pandemic to thank for my pantry. The current situation has caused me to start painting and crafting again and I’m having fun plus making some extra money selling it too. When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
✋ I feel pretty prepared. I just made my grocery list , its all on sale and mostly extra stock to back up the back up. Hubby and i just had our annual budget meeting. What to cut, what to slam harder. This is also when we plan projects for the year. Our projects all focus around the pantry and garden. We're right there with ya on all the reports we're seeing.
Glad you're well enough to sit up for this long. I'm already considering what I might do if I'm laid off, even though I'm one of the last on the list of expendable employees. Doesn't help if the company pulls out of my market. The Great Recession was hard enough, but they're talking about a full blown Depression. We can create our own opportunities, even in hard times.
I am taking a taekwondo class at the age of 41; they also do a woman’s self defense class every three months along with other speciality classes on various defense skills. I encourage every woman ages (12 and up) to take something like this. It’s empowering, so thank you Leisa for stepping up and sponsoring a class like this.
A little knowledge is dangerous thing. It's great to do to be fit and work on your proprioception etc. Just make sure it doesn't give you a false sense of confidence, a man who is twice your size and angry it won't matter if you've taken 100 classes. Stay armed and practice hyperawareness.
@@kerryberry142 awesome. Take a hand towel with you and buy some non-slip headbands to help with the sweat 😀 don’t feel intimidated if you’re the oldest one in the class, go have fun. These are things that I have learned over the year since starting
Thank you for everything you do. You are so informative and have helped us so much to prepare. We are still in our process of preparedness but we’re getting there because you have been there for us! Get better! Sending prayers.
Wow, I went to pick up my mail, then did my oil change plus, and my check engine light came on. I pulled into Auto Zone for a diagnostic, and one headlight was out too. The two guys were very nice and kept me laughing. They fixed the headlight, the check engine was just a broken gas cap. All fixed. I am glad to get those maintenance items handled. I picked up my weekly grocercies, got home in the dark. I am too tired to can my pork butt. Tomorrow is another day. I did needed things, though. They said my 18 year old Tacoma is pristine, he was surprised my plastic gas cap is original. Said it will last for many years. Thats good news, I am saving for replacement. It would be thrilling if it gets through these 10 bad years of chaos. Then its a classic ❤.
Again thank you so much for your sound , researched , voice !!!! I still battle panicking everyday , than I go into my pantry and breath deep! Look at my notes I’ve taken from your videos, make a list of where I need to improve my preps, where I’m ok !!! I hope you are healing, all the positive vibes from East Tennessee!!!
Hi Lisa in my community nobody is really preparing for anything it's so sad there are no prepper groups nothing like that everything that I'm doing I am doing completely on my own and I live in a small town in Pennsylvania
Preppers don't put up billboards. Talk to folks. Are they interested on gardening, chat garden, see if it moves to pantry, or stocking up for winter. Don't call it prepping, call it life. Everyone does some sort of life. See who is committed to doing more than normal
Found $1 mandarin oranges an pineapple!!! Added more fruit to our protein heavy pantry. Counting our v re g now that you gave us realistic guidelines for menu planning on an annual basis!! Thank you. Looking for this book at library.
My husband and I went out yesterday and bought more food and water to add to our pantry. The cost of groceries has increased dramatically and we’re doing our best to stay ahead of inflation by building up our supplies and developing our skills. I look forward to watching more of your videos and learning as much as possible.
Either it will get better, or it won't. While I'm certainly complaining about food prices, I refuse to panic as one does in a crisis. God says it will get worse, but I don't think we're there yet, and I hope it gets better before it gets worse. Make sense? If we get a "breather", I'm going to load up from different stores as fast and as long as I can. In the meantime, I just steadily keep prepping. YES, take care of family first. If you're made aware that someone has a need, then help, but always family first. Leisa, it's always nice to see your sweet little face! I'm glad you're healing up! ~Deb
Why did you have surgery? Recover well... I don't have lots of mullah!! So I go to the food bank. So I'm so grateful, I do share most of it with adult children and grandbabies!
Hi, thank you. I have prepped (wasn't called that then) for all of my almost 41 years of marriage. My husband never understood why I would bring home one or two extra of something when it was on sale. Well, when he was out of work for almost a year, we had food. At the beginning of covid, we were quarantined for two weeks because it was going around his work place. We had food. Didn't get covid, BUT we did have food. ALWAYS do some kind of prep. Even if it's one or two things on sale every time you go to the store. It CAN be done. I live in Indiana, (grew up in Michigan) and am going to very soon be moving to Wisconsin to live with one of my sons and his family. (Grandson is VERY excited). While packing things up, I've started packing some of my preps for my son to take back with him after his visit for the holidays. They are moving from an apartment into a house. I told him what I was doing and that they could either put the preps up, or use them. I figured that my preps can help them during the transition better than just sitting on my shelf. I still have plenty to see us though the move and beyond. SORRY so long. STACK IT TO THE RAFTERS and HIGH FIVE.
Im glad to see you back after surgery and doing your videos, may God heal you to your full potential. Lots of love, prayers, and hugs. I will be buying your book here in a few days, I can't wait to read it.
Congratulations, you look great considering you just went through surgery. I can go at least a year only going to the store for restocking. We have 2 freezers packed with meat and my daughter finally realized it would be better to can much of that meat so we’re working on that now. I started freeze drying 2 years ago, so that’s made it easier as well. Love your videos, thanks so much.
Leisa, hang in with your recovery! Just To share, can’t drive, live in the country no public transportation, Walmart delivers. Every time I can put off my order by another day by finding ways to use what I have I thank you. Couple of quick tips/ideas made up a bag of light red kidney beans in my instant pot( no soaking) cooked up A bit of hamburger mixed a cup of cooked beans, hamburger, and grated cheese on hand two quick meals. Thought about it but the rest of the beans that were cooked cooked up a little more hamburger divided it into two dishes added some taco seasoning emptied the bag of cheese on top put on the lids-- done. I can heat and eat as is, smash be@ns for making burritos or enchiladas bonus. Also froze nicely. Thanks to preparedness have bagged corn and flour tortillas 12:06 in freezer Second tip: milk product if I can’t finish little bit sour make yogurt more sour make ricotta to use or freeze. No store run for anything for another day: no waste! Cream, half n half, whole milk, I just blend them all. Bonus eggs near date I crack 3 per bag mixed well , froze
Spent my last audible Credit on “the fourth Turning is here Today. About an hour of listening as I drove and did my Shopping . Talk about a rude awakening!! Good to know Tho! Thanks Leisa!!
I am going to invest every $ I can spare from now until the end of Jan in my pantry. Half our food supply comes from outside the US and will become unaffordable after January due to tariffs. This is going to hurt. Bye bye bananas, avacodos, winter tomatoes... Etc.
Hi lissa ,just love watching /listening to u and taking every thing in I started my pantry store off after watching ur channel I was slow growing at first but boy is it coming on now , Only few bits every time i shop but growing it is I bought 5 pumpkins for thr grandchildren Halloween and i chopped 2 for soups ect the others i baked and skinned and purree For the freezer After making pumpkin pies ,freezer Soups ,freezer ,i used some still got 4 freezer bags in freezer Never knew i liked pumpkin til now Im 70 But i love it , Any way thanks for all u do Your a star
Wow,we are living in scary times, thankfully l have been a prepper for years, l was married for 40 years and we raised five children on one income. My husband was a factory worker so we had to get through strikes and lay offs. So now I’m 72 and widowed on a limited income and still have a stocked pantry,( and even donated some to our food pantry and my kids).Love your channel
Always thank you...I know you worry about everyone. We try to prep but still always worry what is missing and we worry about others. Just trying to stay positive now a days is a challenge. Your videos always motivate me to continue. Again, thank you.
Hello, I have 3 sons and not one of them pay any attention to what is going on around them. All three are very intelligent but they think I am nuts. All I can do is continue to pressure can, buy store canned food and water. I have back ups to heating and cooking. Beyond that, I just pray for their safety. I am happy for you and your son. Hopefully, mine will come around before it's too late.
So glad I got a FoodSaver vacuum sealer. I’ve been able to get food and freeze it. Got an upright freezer a few tears ago. That with our two refrigerator/freezers have been well used. I get supplies that are on sale. I found Folgers Colombian coffee on sale for $7.99 a can. I got 9 of them. It’s on sale now at another store for $6.99. Since my husband is a big coffee drinker, this is saving money. I taught myself water bath canning at 71 with help from YT. I’ve saved money by getting sale items during the year before prices went up. So glad we started prepping in 2020.
For the woman dealing with alpha gal (Betty), I know it's not as good as butter, but schmaltz (rendered chicken fat) is a tasty substitute. Fabulous on popcorn!

Hey thank you for your videos it hlep me to do this every day
Reducing unnecessary stress during these coming months is going to be important for so many.
Yes, I am crocheting dish cloths. It calms my nerves.
@@26skogen I totally agree 👍🏼 Great advice. I also seen this coming years ago… take care from here in Canada 🇨🇦
Our parents on social security struggle each month. I thank the Lord we are able to help and have for many years. It’s part of why we give our kids things like beef for Christmas…we buy a cow each year and that’s their gift.
I pray we can continue to take care of our family old and young for many years.
You are wonderful and blessed family members! God bless you all!
Beef is a great gift
@@kerryberry142 I like the idea of gifting the beef.
More than you may suspect, but im sure it's not common unfortunately. Keep stacking it!
So delicious 😋
Next going to teach her and my step daughter how to make bread here soon. Then teach them how to can soup, stews and sauces.
Im working on getting the money together to get then they're own water bath pan and a pressure canner so they can do their own canning with the teaching them so they are comfortable doing it themselves.
What a fantastic mom you are!!😃 So many people wouldnt' take the time to teach or learn these necessary skills.
@wonderingfeather1116 Thank you, I'm trying to teach all my kids these skills
Now I’m Henny Penny/Chicken Little 🥺
Thank You so much for being a calm, no bs and helpful voice for so many!
I try my best to help everyone.
So happy to see you are healing well. We are having a rough time financially right now but have a pantry full for a year ot more. Hubby just got a deer today so lots more healthy meat.
I am glad to hear you are prepared.
You're awesome!
Gotta love the prairies. I think the winter's mold us into a caring community.

Enjoy.
@ thank you very much. I didn’t know this. Will give it a try. Blessings
We shopped yesterday, bought regular items plus more canned meats. Trying to prep, prepare and pray.
That is why I say to practice your preparedness. Run drills, etc. As for water, yep, been saying that.
Yes, writing down the recipes! That & inventory! Been thinking about non- obvious storage. 😊@gailoreilly1516
I am trying to get used to filtered water now, I love spring water...lol
Water bottles for freezers always.

They also recently had their underwater Internet cables purposefully severed. Lithuania to Sweden, and Finland to Germany. How can we get a copy of this please thank you
Regarding the 32 page updated preparedness thank you
As a rural librarian with a small budget, I love that you sponsored that class. I love it when community members share ideas for and or sponsor programs.
Thank-you Liesa, for take the time during your healing to give us advice. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Also your toothpaste, mouthwash and perhaps a new toothbrush. Oh and dental floss.

Praying for a speedy recovery. Thank you for all the wealth of information you speak on.
I have gotten so much informative, affordable and doable information from you. I have my system totally down now. I do continue to add just a little like $5 cash so that I can have a nest egg just in case of SHTF. I am so glad your procedure went smoothly! ❤

high five due - pantry and all prepped for the last 10 years - its a lifestyle now - I can take in 6-8 people.
Yes, it becomes a lifestyle.
I enjoy this lifestyle. I am a newbie
Bless you. I’m trying to do the same just including adult children and grandkids
That’s awesome!
You won't. Tariffs are coming, And from what I hear John Deere is likely staying.
Prayers for healing.
Thank you Lovely Lady Leisa 🙏❤️❤️🙏 We all love you, get well soon from NC 🙏❤️❤️🙏
So glad to see you doing well. Was praying for both of you.
You are my kind of Super Hero! Well done, Leisa. Lovin’ the straight talk about “what’s your priority?”
Prayers for comfort and healing
Last night I ordered a pressure canner. I found a good deal and thought this was the best time to commit, before the tariff wars start. I have water bath canned forever. But I need to put together a better pantry for food that won't spike my blood sugars. So I am venturing into veggies and meats. I'm looking forward to the learning curve.
That is awesome! You will love it.
Praying for your healing. Congratulations to the people who were prepared. I am with them ready for anything. Thank you for the emails. Thank you for all you do. We all need to pray for this country. Don't quit doing what you are doing.
I appreciate that.
Prayers for a complete healing & mending.

I grew up in a place and time when houses were built with pantry rooms - even flats often had small pantries - and it was just our way of
life to keep ourselves stocked up. People were paid once a month and we did our big grocery shopping on the Saturday after payday. Then we had a civil war with shortages and strict rationing.
In my first marriage, we lived 14km from the
nearest wide place in the road and 70km from the nearest city. We had a smallholding. As my husband's job had him away for weeks at a time and I
had no car, I worked the smallholding. The land and my
labour provided our eggs, meat, dairy products, and most of our vegetables.
It looks like you’re doing well. Hope surgery went well. Good luck to you. Prayers are with you.❤
The perfect Storm of events that challenge survival.
You're a rockstar!
Really enjoyed hearing the letters. I have the pandemic to thank for my pantry. The current situation has caused me to start painting and crafting again and I’m having fun plus making some extra money selling it too. When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Prayers for your healing and restoration ❤❤
✋ I feel pretty prepared. I just made my grocery list , its all on sale and mostly extra stock to back up the back up.
Hubby and i just had our annual budget meeting. What to cut, what to slam harder. This is also when we plan projects for the year. Our projects all focus around the pantry and garden.
We're right there with ya on all the reports we're seeing.
You are doing great!
We are always the captains of our ships. Prepare for the worst case by dreaming up opportunities now
I am taking a taekwondo class at the age of 41; they also do a woman’s self defense class every three months along with other speciality classes on various defense skills. I start classes with my grandson after the holiday. I figure he wants it but will benefit us both…not just for self defense but bring in shape!
A little knowledge is dangerous thing. It's great to do to be fit and work on your proprioception etc. Just make sure it doesn't give you a false sense of confidence, a man who is twice your size and angry it won't matter if you've taken 100 classes. Stay armed and practice hyperawareness.

Hi neighbor, I am in small town in South Central Pennsylvania understand what yu are saying.
Leisa, I appreciate you SO much! Thank you for sharing your info. ❤
You are so welcome!
Hope you have a speedy & smooth recovery. 🌻
Praise His Holy Name (Exodus 20:7).
Thank you for warning people.
Hope you get feeling better soon✌
Congratulations, you look great considering you just went through surgery. I can go at least a year only going to the store for restocking. We have 2 freezers packed with meat and my daughter finally realized it would be better to can much of that meat so we’re working on that now. I started freeze drying 2 years ago, so that’s made it easier as well. Love your videos, thanks so much.
Thank you so much!!! Prayers you feel better!

I am going to invest every $ I can spare from now until the end of Jan in my pantry. Half our food supply comes from outside the US and will become unaffordable after January due to tariffs. This is going to hurt. Bye bye bananas, avacodos, winter tomatoes... Etc.

Good for you, sponsoring that self-defense class!
We are now in the Age of Aquarius! ❤ we are all here for a reason!
Thank you for helping us prepare for the worse while hoping for the best.
I’m so glad you are doing well enough to put this video out. Thank you for all you do!
Always follow your advice!!! Im ready!!
You've got this!
Good to see you, Leisa! I hope you heal quickly and can get back to doing the things you want to do!
Always thank you...I know you worry about everyone. We try to prep but still always worry what is missing and we worry about others. Just trying to stay positive now a days is a challenge. Your videos always motivate me to continue. Again, thank you.
May you have a very fast full recovery.
My son, the bankster, used to laugh at my avoidance of debt. After 2008 he started paying off debt too. And built raised beds.
He found out his richest clients have bugout locations and deep pantries. I am lucky he admitted it to me!
Glad to see you up and about a bit! Heal quickly and thanks for the video. 👍🏼
For the woman dealing with alpha gal (Betty), I know it's not as good as butter, but schmaltz (rendered chicken fat) is a tasty substitute. Fabulous on popcorn!
When I get some other necessary projects done, i will get to building my stone oven too
Praying you have a speedy recovery, Leisa!
