Great video! From my experience, it looks like he really liked you right away, just a little wary. He looked so sweet with that first little tongue flick! 🩷☺️
@@PetsinaPawd I got my pair back in the first week of July. I still have that same feeling you got everyday I see em, I can't belive I have monitors! Lol
Damn he is a cute little guy. I hope he got used to your taller enclosure and feels well. I am also planning an Ackie monitor but i am new to reptiles and want to prepare eveything before even thinking about buying one. May I ask how you keep your live food and how often you mist your enclosure? What are the min and max temperatures and min and max humidity? (I found a lot of articles in the internet but nobody writes the same)
Hello! He is still in his smaller enclosure but will be moving as soon as he's a couple inches bigger. I keep the insects in the containers they come in but feed them table scraps (mostly veggies) to keep the insects nutrient rich. I dont mist the top of the soil but inside the burrows which is where the ackie will go for humidity. Every so often as the soil begins to dry out I'll dump in water and mix it in until it's all moist. My minimum temp is 70F and the basking spot is 130F (an adult would have higher temps). I hope that helps!
The way you handled the monitor is so right and professional. Most people will grab the monitor from the top, and put it straight into the enclosure 😁
Thank you! I'm not in a rush with him so whatever makes our bond strongest.
Fantastic video! Just seeing this myself. Thanks for the plug!

Best of luck with you new addition! Ackie's are such a great reptile to keep!
Thanks a BUNCH! I watched your videos constantly before buying. 😀
He's so cute!
I agree!
Jeff! He's great! I got mine from him as well! Congrats your new friend!
When did you get yours?

Awesome! I stare at mine every day. Trying to work on taming it down.

@@PetsinaPawd Thank you very much. That helps a lot.
Love to see a feeding video
I was thinking about that!
Hi I just got mine I don’t recommend big cages because they need food so many people make that mistake but yea ready for a challenge
An adult will find food in a big cage just fine. But if you're talking about a baby mine is in something smaller until he grows!
