I've been using big country raw its Canadian ( im in Toronto) price point is good selection is large and they also have a supplement brand called thrive that balances their blends, for joint health, immune support ect.
If you learn to buy the meat, organs and bone and prep it yourself, all you have to do is set aside 30 minutes once or twice a month and just prep a batch then freeze it in ziplocs; you just wash the meat in vinegar water to kill any extra bacteria and cut it in portions. It's really just a matter of making an effort and it ends up being cheaper than buying all of this. You can buy supplements like cranberry powder, dried kelp, fish oil to squeeze in there. Always good to have apple cider vinegar too. You can start with a simple basic recipe of chicken meat, a third teaspoon of liver, and a heart. You can build off and try other recipes from there.

Such a great video. Would you be able to do a video on what one would need to add to make a viva raw meal balanced? What should be add and the various options?
Basically what I go over in my balancing video! It's PMR, just like if we made a homemade bowl with raw meaty bone, muscle meat, and liver. You do need to add a second secreting organ in everything other than the rabbit blend as well.
I’ve been feeding my dog freeze dried for a little over a month now and we both love it. Of all the brands she tried so far her favorites are Primal (Duck/Turkey and Sardine/Rabbit), Open Farm (Pork), and Woof New Zealand (Brushtail)! Thanks so much for this video! I have been searching the internet for days researching pre-made raw food for puppies...I'm new to raw feeding and honestly feel super overwhelmed by all of the TONS of information, opinions, calculate this, convert this, dry matter, fed as is, wet content, My head is spinning! I'm getting a puppy in 7 weeks and I want him to have the healthiest options but I also feel I should be a scientist or biologist to learn all the facts about feeding raw. My puppy is a large breed english labrador retriever and I know how crucial it is for him to receive the proper amount of nutrients for optimal growth and future wellbeing so I definitely know I can't diy his food until I feel educated enough but I'm also noticimost pre-made raw food is geared toward adult dogs. The meal says well balanced but well balanced for all stages of life can't be possible when a growing puppy needs a totally different set of nutrients than an adult dog. I'm so fearful of harming my puppy's health by trying to help him! Any recommendations on how to get more clarity is greatly appreciated! Your videos are so thorough and to the point so thanks for sharing your experience and love for your pets for our benefit. Thanks, again!
After watching this video I did some research on the nature's logic and primal which seem to be good pre-made options for my new puppy but what I don't understand is most of these state they meet aafco standards but they all provide guaranteed analysis which if I understand correctly has to be converted to dry matter to compare apples to apples relating to aafco standards..after converting to dmb they are way higher than aafco standards but state they meet the standards...am I missing something? I'm more confused than ever!
@@SMoss-yp3yx take it easy, I know how you feel. Without much analysis I think these brands you mention are tons of times higher quality than most of the brands of kibble that meet aafco standards
You need to do a new video on primal. As of this year Jan 2023 they changed their formula and added yeast and down sized the meat. Look at front of bags it shows meat was 90 now it's 81. The food is making many dogs including mine very sick. Vomiting and diarrhea. I no longer buy it and use small batch, Z J raw pet and my pet carnivore. Buyer beware nor on primal. Charging a lot and quulity way down hill 😢
For viva raw, it looks like the beef protein is the only one that has liver and other secreting organ. I would only purchase that protein if looking for a complete meal.
I wanted to get Ziwi for a while to take for little trips when I can’t bring raw stuff. But I always thought that it’s like giving kibble so = mixing kibble and raw.
Kibble and raw can be mixed if the pet does well on it. The negative effects are a common misconception which I've done a video on. Ziwi isn't kibble anyway though!
Answers raw is interesting although it appears to contain dairy which may not be appropriate for all dogs. I used to make homemade kefir from raw A2 milk. I would drink it and I gave some to the dogs. Then I was having some gut issues and eliminated all dairy. All my problems disappeared. I no longer feed kefir to the dogs either and they seem fine without it.
Hi, can you make a video on raw food brands like big country raw. I use BCR but recently quality the company seems to have started adding ingredients that I would consider unnecessary. Not required and unhelpful in the different foods
So cat food can’t be complete without synthetic vitamins and minerals right? Because some can’t come from meat and if you add whole fruits and vegetables, it’s not species appropriate
So today all my cats started raw diet, their breakfast was rabbit mixed rabbit gut water and baby peas. Supper was rabbit again beef and water snack was a table spoon or 2 fish
can you do this video again with some new brands? specifically naturawls, big country raw, etc. those are some of the main brands available up here in canada
You should have reached out to each of these websites and gotten an affiliate link so you make money when people click the link and make a purchase based on their internet cookies. Otherwise this video was very informative and helpful. No shame in making money being an honest information curator.
Thanks so much for the video! I've been feeding my cat rawpaws which seems similar to viva and rawfeeding miami. I might give one of those a try next time I run out. I was wondering what is needed to supplement these types of food? I bought something called Alnutrin (for diets with bones) and have been adding that to the rawpaws, but I'd much rather be using whole foods to get those nutrients in. Thanks so much :)
This is a powder that should balance the meal so you don't need to add anything else. If you want to use whole foods I go over what you can add in this video: th-cam.com/video/6yDyA0jh-sk/w-d-xo.html
How many servings are there per container? Or how would you calculate a serving size given your dogs weight? Im not sure if it would be the same as the PMR calculation, but to feed a 60 pound dog about 1.8 pounds of any one of these brands daily would be ridiculously expensive.

Answer’s pet now has different people running the business. Do you have any updated thought on them? Billy left Answers because he can no longer agree to the new leadership’s direction according to his Instagram post. Love and appreciate all the research you do👏🏻✨💕
Such a great video.
Raw feeding Miami and Hare today are my top of raw pet food brands. Viva raw pet will be third in brands.
Totally agree their is way to much bone is most of the raw dog foods ! It actually stops the dog from eating eventually. Causes compaction too.
It’s sooo hard to find a good and healthy pet food.
DYI is best but since a car accident I can’t do it anymore.
Please review Maev! It isnt ground. Its actually chunks of frozen meat, fruit and vegetables. I would love to see your review!!!
I’ve been feeding my dog freeze dried for a little over a month now and we both love it. Of all the brands she tried so far her favorites are Primal (Duck/Turkey and Sardine/Rabbit), Open Farm (Pork), and Woof New Zealand (Brushtail)! I want to try some commercial raw as well in the future, never heard of viva raw before but it sounds interesting!
Vom og Hundemat, Mush and Provit👌
@@vikingdogmanship umm... They only have those in the nordic countries. Have personally tried Vom og Hundemat cat food and Mush and my cat did great on them.
My dogs like the woof brushtail also.
Thank you this is so helpful
Hello!
I have been learning so much about Raw Food Diets for my rat terrier. I would love it if you could one day take a look at Bones & Co raw keto food and tell us what you're POV is...
Have you reviewed Smallbatch? I haven’t found a video about them yet on your channel
This video makes me want to try some of feeding Miami Raw’s base meats, particularly the whole prey quail. I do use Dr. Harvey’s base mixes. Would it be nutrition overload to mix Paradigm or Raw Vibrance with the whole prey quail?
Thanks for the review! I'll give Viva Raw a try once I can get my kitten to get raw food :D
Viva raw has complete diets now. Not sure if you covered this already.
Thank you for this!!!!
came ot watch diss videooo after a comment teeheee. luved it ofc!! but sad its hard to find them at an offordable price where i live ahah
For viva raw, it looks like the beef protein is the only one that has liver and other secreting organ. I would only purchase that protein if looking for a complete meal.
We use the Ziwi for my 4lb chihuahua when she won't eat her raw grinds. I want to make my own raw but am stuck on the supplements.
Thats my issue to
I wanted to get Ziwi for a while to take for little trips when I can’t bring raw stuff. But I always thought that it’s like giving kibble so = mixing kibble and raw.
Kibble and raw can be mixed if the pet does well on it. The negative effects are a common misconception which I've done a video on. Ziwi isn't kibble anyway though!
What should I give to my cat to make the meal balanced while feeding them viva raw?
I checked their website they don’t ship to the uk 😞
Answers raw is interesting although it appears to contain dairy which may not be appropriate for all dogs. I used to make homemade kefir from raw A2 milk. I would drink it and I gave some to the dogs. Then I was having some gut issues and eliminated all dairy. All my problems disappeared. I no longer feed kefir to the dogs either and they seem fine without it.
Is it ok to feed my cats both raw food and Ziwi Peak?
Hi, can you make a video on raw food brands like big country raw. I use BCR but recently quality the company seems to have started adding ingredients that I would consider unnecessary. Not required and unhelpful in the different foods
Love the video so much l!! Viva Raw looks so awesome too This makes me want to get some now haha
my favorite out of them all is VIVA RAW and it is tied with BONES AND CO for first place favorite
So cat food can’t be complete without synthetic vitamins and minerals right? Because some can’t come from meat and if you add whole fruits and vegetables, it’s not species appropriate
Great info! Would love to hear your thoughts on Steve’s Real Food raw food for dogs.
They're ok from what I've heard, but do HPP on their food.
What are your thoughts about Maev?
You should have reached out to each of these websites and gotten an affiliate link so you make money when people click the link and make a purchase based on their internet cookies. Otherwise this video was very informative and helpful. No shame in making money being an honest information curator.
Got me hooked on the Viva Raw--but then dropped that they don't ship to the west coast! Hopefully they will soon :(
I'm so sorry! It should be soon!
What do you think about Darwin’s Natural Pet? Is this one a good brand?
Thanks so much for the video! I've been feeding my cat rawpaws which seems similar to viva and rawfeeding miami. I might give one of those a try next time I run out. I was wondering what is needed to supplement these types of food? I bought something called Alnutrin (for diets with bones) and have been adding that to the rawpaws, but I'd much rather be using whole foods to get those nutrients in. Thanks so much :)
Btw, fellow Virginian here! 😎🙌
This is a powder that should balance the meal so you don't need to add anything else. If you want to use whole foods I go over what you can add in this video: th-cam.com/video/6yDyA0jh-sk/w-d-xo.html
What do you think about Darwin’s naturals?
Hello, thanks for this good video. What do you think of feeding frozen Instinct raw food ? That is I can find in Canada
Merry Xmas 2022🎉 Would love to know what’s your current thoughts on these companies ( perhaps some new one too) ? :D
Have you ever tried Albright's raw food and Texas tribe beginner's choice ?
Is trichinosis a concern when feeding raw pork?
i feed ziwi to my girl and occassionally i'll add veggies and a little more meat just to add a little more freshness
Do you know the ratio of additives to combine into the Viva Raw food to ensure its well balanced?
Alnutrin has some premade mix for easy adding
Raw Feeding Miami I love them was looking around their site.
UGH I MISSED THIS VID HOWWW I WAS W8ATING JSJSJSJSJJE
Is Natures Logic vegetables dried organic? Also do you know what N.D. stands for in their Fiber content for raw frozen pork?
How many servings are there per container? Or how would you calculate a serving size given your dogs weight?
Im not sure if it would be the same as the PMR calculation, but to feed a 60 pound dog about 1.8 pounds of any one of these brands daily would be ridiculously expensive.
