I always wanted to play in the world but it was SO laggy but I always had mermaids and it was so fun especially since the toddlers had scales too and you could play with them in the water
The Nraas mod really helps for Sims 3. The master controller, overwatch, and traffic mod from nraas have really helped clean up my Sims 3 game. It doesn’t fix everything, but the number of crashes and lags for me went way down and made it a playable game again. Island Paradise was a lost cause, though. Sadly. Had to get a custom created world instead.
You being stressed about the game crashing is bringing back so many memories for me 😭 I couldnt even finish making my sim, it was a traumatic experience playing that game but I still thoroughly enjoyed it
I hate how The Sims 4 isn't as good as previous installments. It actually genuinely upsets me and disappoints me, we are 6 years into the game and it still lacks SO MUCH. Previous games would have finished by now and be full of content that players would be happy with but that's not the case with Sims 4 :(
everyone else: plumbella sound ridiculous singing that sims 3 intro music me, an intellectual: i would die for this (brilliant, incredible, amazing, never been done before) remix
I keep thinking about going back to it, but I always got so frustrated with the whole town locking up every few minutes - and this was everywhere but the smallest worlds. I've also tried getting back into Sims 2, but it has some major compatibility issues with newer computers. It crashes constantly. So, I begrudgingly go back to 4.
@@jooj7471 I never said anything about it being a jungle 😂 But it’s like Australia where theres so many things that are venemous. I feel like it’s like that in so many warm climates. Have no idea where you all got jungle out of that. Everywhere in the world has wildlife.
I am so confused how Jesse's computer and everyone else's computer seems to die when playing Isla Paradiso when my Acer laptop seemed to run the sims 3 fine. Maybe I blocked out my sims 3 lagging. OR my sims 4 lagging and not being able to run is karma for having the sims 3 run so well :/
omg sis! SAMEEEE. I also have an acer and I've always thought the same thing, either it really didn't lag, or my brain just blocked out the lagging. And also, with my acer computer, my sims 4 is the buggiest thing, my sims stay hours and hours doing things or just looking at the walls.
Smoke newer pieces just can't handle the older frameworks and engines. It doesn't help that the game is riddled with bugs and path/mapping issues that the system is constantly trying to fix. People on Mod the Sims actually went through and fixed pretty much all of the world maps since Maxis didn't do jack. Overwatch and master controller mods help to.
I remember being really sad that this pack didn’t work. It had such potential... I loved owning a resort and discovering islands, but the crashes just made it unplayable!
Yea the world is laggy. Even after editing it. But I love everything else that came with this pack. The clothes... Hair... The objects... All beach/summer themed. Also, a lot of the custom worlds uses this pack so it's actually useful. I still can dive underwater and use the houseboats and resorts.
Because Sims 3 takes ages to load for me I'll watch a youtube video or two while it turns on, with the game sound muted. Literally muted my game while it started doing the intro RIGHT as you started doing the intro music for yours. It was beautiful. Thank you.
One of my favourite tips for running the Sims 3 (on Windows) is to open task manager, go to details, right click the Sims 3 and set priority to High (never Realtime)! Then, set affinity to have at least two CPUs off. Works wonders! MTS also has world fixes that fix the routing issues; this is one of the biggest issues in Isla Paradiso and can do wonders. NRaas Overwatch, MCC and errortrap are your best friends.
I actually loved it when the there was a sims 3 loading screen because of the mini game so if sims 4 did something similar to that I wouldn’t mind the hundreds of loading screens (as much anyway 😅)
I run Sims3 on my ages old laptop. For Island Paradise, I found a suggestion that you move all of the house boat residents out to reduce the mind numbing lag. It has worked for me, there is still a little lagging but not to the the point where I rage quit. Hope this is helpful.
I must be blessed with the sims because after the initial start up and load lag i can run sims 3 at max settings with all packs and scripting mods just fine, my pc has always had a knack for running things it shouldn't be able to absolutely perfectly and stuff it should be able to run perfectly just dying horribly, clown pc
The way you get rid of the lag in Isla Paradiso is pretty simple. Delete all houseboats. Remove them all from the world. Move the families that live in them to houses on land and delete the houseboats. For extra assurance, turn off the option for townies to move/story progress so they don't randomly decide to move or whatever. This will get rid of a lot of the lag I assure you. If the lag comes back, then do a quick check of the ocean for boats with nobody in them (i.e. random abandoned boats) and use testingcheatsenabled true to shift click on them and object delete them. This is another source of lag but nowhere near as big as the houseboats. The final source of lag is horses and other pets. Disable the pets EP (which I think you did) or if it is enabled then turn off the option which adds pets to families around the town. If there are pets in the world again testingcheatsenabled true and delete them. Hope you can play with less lag now!
Honestly, as someone who lives in a place where it can start snowing the day after a record breaking heatwave, a place like England that has consistent weather sounds amazing
honestly despite island paradise buffing every 3 seconds this pack gives me the most nostalgia and therefore is my favourite pack so thank u for this video
Island Paradise is honestly one of my favourite Sims 3 expansions, even though it runs like trash. Sometimes I consider moving on to 4 but I read that even with all expansions it's still boring as shit.
Glad I'm not the only one who has experienced hell with Isla Paradiso "freezing" like that. My RTX 2080 and i7 8700k won't save me, either. Still love The Sims 3, though.
@April Mercer It's awesome that something so simple can greatly improve the day for many people, but do they really need to put the same comment on every single video, multiple times? At first it was kinda nice and relatable, but when you've been seeing the same exact comment daily for weeks, it gets very repetitive and mildly annoying. Personally, I just want to read a couple funny comments and/or get some game tips, not read the same comment over and over.
To make Isla Paradiso much more playable: delete the Scott family using nraas (also delete their houseboat), make sure no inactive sims live in houseboats, remove spiral staircases around town, use cheats to discover uncharted islands, delete Ithaca family’s castle, delete the run down resort (or set it to no visitors allowed), use nraas register to make sure no wild animals will spawn, delete Medina household’s house, remove the ladder and everything on the highest floor of the Collins’ house (or delete the house). All of this should greatly reduce lag or almost completely remove it (Works wonders for me)
This was the first pack I ever had for the sims 3 bc I got into the game super late and it was my absolute favorite. It worked fine for me even on my shitty laptop back in the day, I miss it. Island living was such a disappointment in comparison

It it really wierd that when this game first came out, it worked perfectly for me with no lag and with all the packs up to that. No problems at all. It was seriously running perfectly, and I had no mods at all. But then maybe a half to a year later, it suddently started lagging and became ubplayable. How??

@@Jaidee_Gaming i modded my game but unfortunately i don’t have my gaming laptop with me at school so i’ll try my best to remember what i did. i think i have the nrass overwatch and the nrass error trap mods. i think you also have to delete the scott family from the world if you’re playing the island paradise town. not sure why exactly but i’ve heard that works. also! from personal experience, having your family live in a houseboat makes the game lag even more so try to move your sims to a house on land. i also played around with my resolution so like having lower res on reflections, view distance, etc helps with lag too!
Plumbella! I'm sure there's a thousand comments telling you how to make island paradise not run like shit, but just in case they haven't: 1) download fixed world maps that fix places where the path routing of NPCs is messed up sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/ea-worlds-corrected.html 2) turn off horses in your gameplay settings if you have pets installed. (Even better: dont have pets installed) 3) if the fixed worlds still dont work well enough, delete all the house boats on the map. You can still live in one yourself but yeah. No townies in houseboats is a wise move Island paradise was my OBSESSION when Sims 3 came out... And honestly still kinda is. Every time I go to play somewhere else in 3 I'm like... But they're rich now... And wouldn't rich people move to an island paradise...? And end up there eventually

I get it.. The goblin tradeprince wants potato farmers and coal miners to buy the game too, but dude, c'mon, you can't build a flagship of a game from literal dung and expect it to hold up.
Sims 3 was a whole generation of Sims, and it couldn't even carry its own weight.
It's still my favorite, but only because I'm used to suffering.

I always wanted to play in the world but it was SO laggy but I always had mermaids and it was so fun especially since the toddlers had scales too and you could play with them in the water
If I had overwatch and this pack not installed... The game worked on my 2009 nongaming laptop...
There is a fixed world that you can replace the original with. It has removed things where Sims often gets stuck etc. It worked a lot better for me.
Previous games would have finished by now and be full of content that players would be happy with but that's not the case with Sims 4 :(
And it refuses to die! I just want to have Sims5 already so we can hopefully move on to something better.
ah yes, sims 3, a complete game with so many features that ... doesn't even run

I thought I miss the sims 3 but now I remembered how much anxiety it gave me lmao

I am so confused how Jesse's computer and everyone else's computer seems to die when playing Isla Paradiso when my Acer laptop seemed to run the sims 3 fine. Maybe I blocked out my sims 3 lagging. OR my sims 4 lagging and not being able to run is karma for having the sims 3 run so well :/
C Flo my gaming computer is fine with sims 3 but not with Isla paradiso
Old/unsupported games tend to run worse on modern PCs. When was the last time TS3 got a major update? 2013?
Yes!! Sims 3 runs fine but sims 4 crashes every 5 mins no matter what I try. I feel seen.
omg sis!
“Who was wearing this in the naughties?!”

When I was younger this was my favourite expansion pack and I can’t remember it crashing so much lol
ikr!! i used to play it on a crappy laptop as a kid and i was vibing
I didn’t have problems with it either haha
I remember being really sad that this pack didn’t work. It had such potential... I loved owning a resort and discovering islands, but the crashes just made it unplayable!
Plumbella: How we all diddly doing?
Me: I'm okay, thanks for asking 😭😭
Yea the world is laggy. Even after editing it. But I love everything else that came with this pack. The clothes... Hair... The objects... All beach/summer themed. Also, a lot of the custom worlds uses this pack so it's actually useful. I still can dive underwater and use the houseboats and resorts.
"The faster the renegade, the stronger the mental health."

NRaas Overwatch, MCC and errortrap are your best friends.
the only thing keeping me going these days is HEY HENSSSS
I actually loved it when the there was a sims 3 loading screen because of the mini game so if sims 4 did something similar to that I wouldn’t mind the hundreds of loading screens (as much anyway 😅)
Hearing "hey hens" is just as satisfying as a southern woman calling you "Suga" subscribed with no regret
This pack was horrible to run

honestly despite island paradise buffing every 3 seconds this pack gives me the most nostalgia and therefore is my favourite pack so thank u for this video

@@Alyakismydutchname I dont see where you find all these endless comments on it when all the topcomments I can find are unrelated tho

How??
such a creative expansion pack. it was so fun i remember when it came out right before the summer of 2013, i was SO EXCITED and honestly i loved it so much. i never experienced any issues with the pack. it is a creative, beautiful, and very nostalgic pack! i love isla paradiso soo much
Oof lately I’ve been obsessed with island paradise, probably my favorite next to late night. And I’ve been lucky that it hasn’t been lagging too bad atm and ngl I’m having a great time. Also I named my resort Bad Bitch Bunker 😂
What did you do to make it work?
@@Jaidee_Gaming i modded my game but unfortunately i don’t have my gaming laptop with me at school so i’ll try my best to remember what i did. i think i have the nrass overwatch and the nrass error trap mods. i think you also have to delete the scott family from the world if you’re playing the island paradise town. not sure why exactly but i’ve heard that works. also! from personal experience, having your family live in a houseboat makes the game lag even more so try to move your sims to a house on land. i also played around with my resolution so like having lower res on reflections, view distance, etc helps with lag too!
Plumbella! I'm sure there's a thousand comments telling you how to make island paradise not run like shit, but just in case they haven't:
1) download fixed world maps that fix places where the path routing of NPCs is messed up sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/ea-worlds-corrected.html
2) turn off horses in your gameplay settings if you have pets installed. (Even better: dont have pets installed)
3) if the fixed worlds still dont work well enough, delete all the house boats on the map. You can still live in one yourself but yeah. No townies in houseboats is a wise move
Island paradise was my OBSESSION when Sims 3 came out... And honestly still kinda is. Every time I go to play somewhere else in 3 I'm like... But they're rich now... And wouldn't rich people move to an island paradise...? And end up there eventually
