I think the fizzy water maker is worth it because it reduces plastic. If you were to just buy all your fizzy water from the supermarket, that would be a lot of empty plastic bottles, vs this fizzy maker for which you always use the same re-usable bottle. Also it's great for making mojitos, if you're into that! I don't drink but I used to make mojitos for other people using a similar contraption to this.
a thing to know about the egg timer, is that you should keep it in the fridge if you keep your eggs in the fridge as well! if you use fridge temperature eggs and a room temperature timer, the egg time will tell you the eggs are done before they actually are. maybe that could explain why your hard boiled egg was still a bit runny?
For the record, I HAVE that avocado slicer, and I've never had a problem using it. I think you were trying it on an underripe avocado... or maybe the avocados you have available in the UK are just not as creamy as the ones we get in the States? I don't think I'd ever purchase one for myself because obviously a large knife works as well, but I got it as a stocking stuffer and I love it and use it all the time!
I wasn't there in person so take this with a grain of salt. But based on the way it was hard to twist the avo open / get the pit out/ slice through...that looked like an underripe avocado. Qualification: I live in California.
Sodastream definitely pays for itself & not just for people who love fizzy water. So many drinks are improved by a little bit of fizz, so its great for people who love making cocktails/punch/etc.
The soda stream one I can't recomand enough ! Not only does it means cheaper fizzy water but also sooo much less plastic waste. Using it is a real child game, so easy and you can put any sirop in it (not only the brand one), so great !
We use a soda stream instead of buying fizzy water because it means your not buying single use plastic every time you want a bottle of fizzy water! You can take in the empty gas canisters to the shops where you buy the gas and they recycle them!
The soda stream is much more friedly for the envirement and you don't have to bring home all the bottles, store it, recycle it. Have it since 20 years and love it.
Ohh man.. the fizzy drink thing brought back so many memories. We had one of these during my childhood, i remember my mum making all flavors of fizzy drinks when we had guests come by. Memories!! ❤
VERY interested in what fizzy milk would be like, even fizzy almond/soja milk ! Could be a fun video idea, trying to 'fizz' different drinks! (fizzy chocolate milk?) 😂
There is a drink in Asia called Milkis that is a carbonated milk drink. It's really yummy though it seems weird at first. I really like the strawberry flavored it tastes like a milder strawberry cream soda. You can usually find the cans in Asian supermarkets
I rarely buy soda's anymore, I mostly make fizzy water at home, and sometimes I put lemon juice in it and some Funlight (sugarfree lemonade that we have in Scandinavia). If someone tries to do it, please remember to first make the water fizzy and then add your flavours (or else you'll have the liquid everywhere). It tastes amazing, just like in the store and without all the added stuff from store bought soda's and fizzy water.
Grace, it's b/c of you that I have my entire house decked out for Christmas (even though Thanksgiving is still a week away) and I have NO SHAME about it. I love it. It makes me happy. I'm gonna TREAT myself to a beautiful Christmas house.
I bought my parents a soda stream years ago, and it's still very much in daily use for them! They used to purchase bottles of sparkling water, which even though they'd recycle them, the soda stream has massively reduced the plastic coming into their house! Worth the investment! Also I swear by those egg timers, never had an issue with hard boiled eggs!
You can get the individual slush puppies that you put in the freezer in home bargains. Like capri sun packs. They're great. I like my soda stream, but definitely go through phases with it. You can use any juice you want with it too not just their syrups. There's so many nice ones about now too 😋 loving the content as always and soo looking forward to more Christmas stuff 🎄 xx
learned the hard way with the soda stream, that if you try anything other than plain water it will explode lol, I love my soda stream though and we get flavor drops for when we want different flavored sparkly water, also if your gonna use flavors make sure you add the flavor drops after you fizz the water or it will overflow and spray everywhere
FYI please don’t put anything besides water into the soda stream! You will have a massive explosion, even the flavor drops shouldn’t be added until after the water is carbonated!

Yes! I love the ingenuitea! I used to work at a tea shop and that’s what we would use to steep all of our teas because they’re so easy to use and clean!
Here in Germany fizzy water is the standard. The sodastream reduces plastic, and it’s also great for old people or other people that can’t carry a lot of bottled water home from the store! One refill, which costs about 9€ lasts us (two people) multiple months! I think it’s great
In bed with covid and just discovered your channel - I know - madness. But I absolutely love it! So relatable and down to earth, plus very naturally funny. Thanks for helping pass the time (and for helping me to realise that the perfect Xmas gift for my husband is the sodastream) xx
I got a sodastream purely to cut down on my plastic. I love sparkling water and now I'm not going through loads of plastic bottles every week buying it in shops!
This will be my third Christmas watching you. I started when i moved out and I haven’t gotten tired of your content at all!! Watching the vlogmas gives me so much comfort. Plus a year full of proper content i mean yes pleasee. Plus i just love to witness you grow as a person
sodastream is definitely worth it you do save a lot of money in the long run as an avid sparkling water drinker plus cuts the plastic usage!! I got my sodastream also half price at boots a lot of shops constantly have them on deal!
My brother has a soda steam and loves it! He never buys any juice anymore. I got it for him for one Christmas and now every birthday and Christmas there’s always a new flavour he wants to try so I’m never stuck if I need a little something extra to go with his gift!
Soda stream machines were pretty common in New Zealand when I was growing up in the 1980s. I would highly recommend them, they’re excellent for saving on plastic bottles, and heaps of fun 👍
OMG I just bought this little seltzer-falvoring bottle at Bed Bath and Beyond a few days ago and it tastes exactly the same as the cans of seltzer! The kind I got is grapefruit flavored and all you have to do is add a few drops to the seltzer.
as a german its so funny seeing you be so hyped about fizzy water. in germany it's the most normal thing to ask your guests: do you want sparkling or still water? haha
I know in Canada( guessing you can get something similar in the uk even if the brand is different) you can get soda syrups for your soda stream so you basically can make cola or sprite or whatever at home. As someone who lives in the country and doesn’t live near a super market, I love that because I can’t exactly pop to a shop and grab sodas when I want some anymore. Or just fizzy water if I don’t just want tea or plain water.
Egg timer is usually in Poundland. They last a little while but do split in half eventually. I’m on my third one in 10 years. Mine always work perfectly and well worth the £1.
I have a T2 teamaker (basically the same thing as the Ingenuitea), and it came with a plastic saucer to stand it on to catch the drips. Mine keeps the tea fairly hot, too.
Yes, please, anything to do with food, gadgets, meal services, cafes, restarurants, gifts, Xmas vibes, pyjamas and coziness in general (hygge), love it all! :OD xxx
First Christmas watching u I start over the lockdown period after seeing abby sharp do a video about you . Love the content ur making me think about food in a better way. Also want the slushie cup 🥤
We have one of the slush puppy cups for my step daughter and we use a shot glass to measure. We do one glass syrup and 5 shots of water and it’s the perfect amount I think perhaps you made it too strong. Love soda stream I have one I haven’t used for ages and this has made me excited to use it again 😊
we bought a soda stream for my dad a few years ago!! our thoughts were it would be better for the environment as it reduces plastic waste as he wouldn't have to buy bottles of fizzy water he could just make it himself!! as well as other fizzy drinks!
The tea maker is very good; I have had one for years and it doesn’t leak yet. Mine came with a saucer. I love my sodastream and bought one because I don’t want to buy water when it tastes perfectly fine from the tap and, you know, we should all reduce plastic. It looked like you had an avocado that wasn’t truly ripe, I have a (metal) avocado slicer that works well but doesn’t have the cutter and destoner. Have you tried making slushies using the ice crushing on your blender and some ordinary cordial syrup? I have seen other TH-cam’s test the egg timer and it always undercooks the eggs. Thank you for testing the gadgets; it’s always good to know what not to buy!
i have a similar tea strainer thingy but i use it for iced tea! instead of a mug i pour it over a cup of ice! i have never thought to use it for hot tea!
The sodastream is absolutely worth it. A co2 canister costs about 6€ in Germany which is about £5. It makes about 60 litres which would normally cost way more than 5£. In addition you don’t have to carry home those heavy water bottles anymore! The only downside that I can think about is that, when you are a larger family (we are a family of 6) you need quite a lot of reusable sodastream bottles, because we obviously drink more…
@@natashaj4113 haha yeah I can remember the advert vividly!! Obviously v good advertising!!😁 Also loved the a-la-carte kitchen advert where the kid cooked beans for her dad. I actually thought it was a working cooker, lol . Always wanted one of those too but never got one, lol
i use my sodastream for everything, I even fizz up my favourite wines to make prosecco. not one store bought prosecco has come close to my own. i do warn whoever will try it with wine. it will not give the "brrrr" sound when its done. and it will foam up a lot.
The tea thing looks cool but I brew tea all the time and it’s usually easier to just use filters or those metal tea strainers. That thing looks difficult to clean, is there a way to let the tea leaves out? There’s aso tea pots that do better but you get more tea, it’s still cool though as a gift.
I worked at a bar with a slush puppy machine and you just stick gallons of syrup into the main machines, no water or anything. I think any concentrates won’t be able to match the huge syrup mixes.
I looooove my soda stream. I've had mine for probably 7 odd years now and still going strong. Reduction in plastic waste from buying soda bottles, unless you're fancy/rich and buy glass bottles soda water haha
Would highly reccomend the slush puppie cup, but buy your syrups from Amazon and do some trial and error until you find a flavour and syrup ratio that suits you 😊 I also make slushie using fizzy drinks, fanta fruit twist slushies are sublime 😍

omg thank you!!! this makes so much sense! how have I never realised this before ahaha
I have to say. I think it may be the avocados fault, not the contraption 😂
It did look very hard 🤣
Agree. We have one and it’s amazing
I work in a commercial kitchen and I use that avocado slicer daily. That was definitely the avocado not the slicer 🤣
i have it and it’s pretty useless
I wasn't there in person so take this with a grain of salt. But based on the way it was hard to twist the avo open / get the pit out/ slice through...that looked like an underripe avocado. Qualification: I live in California.
This is true. I live in Texas.
That avocado was still hard. You had to attack it with the sharp knife to cut it!!
Sodastream definitely pays for itself & not just for people who love fizzy water. So many drinks are improved by a little bit of fizz, so its great for people who love making cocktails/punch/etc.
I found it to be a hassle and donated it when I moved.
Also so much better than for the environment.
Actually, it is cheaper to buy carbonated water than to buy a soda stream (i counted it)
@@Luca-ow7ni depends on how many carbonated waters you buy tho doesn’t it, also like they said, not just for fizzy water

@@nameless9796 Hah yes I'm french so I wrote it the french way bc it's so similar ! Thx
We have that 🥑 tool and we love it 😂 the avocado looks too hard just the way you sliced it seemed hard lol.
That avocado looked unripe hence why it was so hard to open. Try it again with a softer one and it will probably work better :)

Exactly. And you don't have to carry bottles of water from the store to home every time ( I don't have a car so this is a huge plus for me)
our supermarket will also refill your soda stream bottles with more CO2! i guess when enough people in the area have them, they might do that?
The soda stream is much more friedly for the envirement and you don't have to bring home all the bottles, store it, recycle it. Have it since 20 years and love it.
