I've started watching you for your review of turkish candy, so of course I like this episode. It's 11pm I'm in bed and got sooooo hungry. I love turkish food. I love ayran , I love pide, and yogurt soup , and love all turkish food. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so hungry now!!!!

Ok, almost all Turkish food that have meat in it is traditionally cooked with red meat, like lamb or beef. These chicken dishes are later chickenized versions of red meat dishes created as a cheaper or healthier alternative for people. They are popularized and became more common in the last 15-20 years but the original red meat dishes have hundreds years of history. So if you're eating a chicken pide or chicken kebab, you're not really eating the original thing. I am not saying chicken dishes are bad by the way, mostly they're also good, but their tastes are not the same with the original.
You know what is weird? I am Turkish and I'm living in the same country as you, MALAYSIA!!

try greek ones. spicy adanakis, chicken schwarmakis, baklavaki, chicken pitakis... add -kis -ki as a suffix and here you got a greek meal.

for the meatballs : spicy ones always called adana, non spicies called urfa. adana and urfa are the cities in Turkey.
