Egg shell even in powder form takes a very long time to breakdown and decompose for any plant to take up as nutrition. It is not a substitute for bone meal.

This has lots of calcium but what about other nutrients which bone meal has. I agree with you that it works but can not considered as bone meal which is slow release organic fertilizer...Egg shell doesn't even decomposes easily in soil.
