Oh nice upload, nice fish there too! Still not taken the plunge and had a go on the pike, must get my skates on so to speak. Much appreciate the content as always, many thanks!
@@TheFishingBloggers ok just asking as some people recommend 50lb plus line for deadbaiting as you can straighten the hooks out if you get snagged which is safer for the fish
@@Lukas9877 you can’t use 50lb mono as it would be very thick and won’t cast far, but you can use 50lb braid. Braid is banned on this lake, so that’s why I’m using mono in 0.40.
nice pike love that set up maybe give it ago myself usually use floats.. do you strike soon as the bobber drops to avoid deep hook fish? an can you leadger like this with single hooks🎣🐊
I try to strike as soon as I feel it’s necessary. It depends on the bite, sometimes the fish will run straight away, sometimes they will sit with the bait in one spot. It’s all experience really, but the safest thing to do is strike straight away to avoid deep hooking! I’ve used this ledger setup with single hooks for zander and caught plenty!
Great video, felt cold just watching it 🥶
Was a tad chilly 🥶
Great video mate really enjoyed it 👍

Quality watch as always onto the adventure tightlines look forward to the next video 🎣 👊

Great video and will give the ledger setup a go next time out.
Thank you 🙏
Nice one dude!! Would be good to see some lure action on the Go pro! 👀👌
Done a bit of lure stuff in the past but it never gets any views…
@@TheFishingBloggers ah fair enough. Didn’t think of that bit. Barbel fishing videos are the one for views. 👀
@@SouthWestCarper yea will be after the barbel at some point and a few chub!
Just a question , aren't you ment to use really strong line for pike fishing
I've never done it before so just asking
Anyway great video
Yea the stronger the better, but people still catch them on light lure setups all the time. I was using 0.40 mainline, which is 20lb.

An other option can be some sort of lineclip on the rod above the spool when a backrest is no option...
Yea I did think of that as I’ve got them on the rods 👍
