Same exact thing happened to me, my dread broke off because it was so thin at a point, I had to combine it with another dreadlock, basically wicked them together with the crochet . I will post a video of it if anybody is interested
I think something to consider for sister locs vs his would be the weight right? Speaking from experience some of mine are pretty heavy and firm I’m not sure bout sister locs tho so idrk
Idk t Byrd I have smaller locs and they root is significantly skinnier than the shaft and they don’t fall out or thin I think it really is about how you take care of them mostly

I’m totally interested in getting mentored! I haven’t made any videos yet but I’m genuinely interested in starting! I’ve wanted locs since I was in 8th grade. I’m a senior in college now and I just started my first set of locs all on my own, I was only able to do it cause of years of watching your channel!
I have skinny locs myself. With having straight hairs I don't have a lot of them but I have 63 locs on a full head, while average is 35-40 locs on people my area. Skinny locs let us have more locs compared to normal section locs which basically give more of a fullar head feeling rather than a countable amount of locs and it gives more versatility as well.
I do maintenance once every 15-20 days via a crochet hook (on the length only and not on root) as my locs are quite new and frizz a LOT.....but a friend of mine also has locs like mine and he tells me that a gap of month and half is good (we both do 4-step interlocking for root maintenance)
@@TElias5 dude my hairs are not thick or dense....the guy who did my locs (he has 5 years of experience on locs) was scared to do more than 50.....even then he did 63 and tells me ill have to combine them in couple years....so yeah 63 is a lot for MY OWN hairs ☺️🙏

You're 100% right. Dude split his locs so his dreads are always gonna be damaged.
@@xpcohiox he split like 2 or 3 dreads, I’m not sure the exact number but it’s less than 50 percent of his hair, calm down.
Actually that's a very common problem with people with sister locs... The more skinny the more care you need to be careful with them

Once they reach my neck I don’t want them to go any longer 😂 I understand ya
Nailed it
Yes cause mine is down my back and does styles aren't the same lol ... Lots of ponytails 🥲🎻
Had skinny dreads and 8 fell out while I was combining them, gonna let me roots grow and reattach them
And not using crotchet hook, my scalp thinned out, I’m just gonna two strand them and let them loc up on its own

Hi bro when are you doing ur actual 2 year update u was meant to do it this November cause ur had ur locs for 2 years
Dreadlocs is the proper term. I hate when ppl get mad when you don’t call them “Locs”…. They literally call us Dreadheads NOT Locheads 😂
Locs is the proper term but thanks for your input

Im tryna get dreads. But idk which method best. Crotchet or Freeform?
it depends on how you want them to look, but crochet hooking is quicker.
Go free form with a towel so it can look different from others
And get a low drop fade or taper fade
What you leaning more to
Get coils they better for the long run 💪🏾thank me later
