It was unintentional though and was removed by the developers shortly after release.
I'll explain the Artist bit a lil - If she only sends 1 Dire Crow, it's only a 5 second cooldown compared to sending multiple crows, 2 Dire Crows is 9 seconds, 3 is 12 and 4 is 14, sending a single crow is the most efficent as survivors don't get enough time to repel the swarm without using a locker, which is why Artist run Iron Maiden :p

It's basically just a gift thing You can take items you bring in out of the trials if you escape with it now (as survivor.) Handing it over is basically saying "here, I'll lose a bit of my blood points because you were nice to me and didn't get the chance to farm some blood points," since if you spare a survivor, you won't get the blood points for hooking and sacrificing them. That's my take on it tho

The ghost player glitch happened to me too. It's literally so weird. Hopefully they fix it in the next patch

It means when you attempt to escape the hook, it's base chance is 4%
