I feel like I say the same thing every video, but...WOW. Such beautiful treasures today!!! The Italian stonework, the Scottie pin, the folk art shoes, and super pretty marbles! Thanks for taking us along!! L😍VE the garden, too! Always interesting in here!
Hi Dave, that Chinese textile may be much older than you think. Very similar to the one you found not too long ago. It may be a Qing Dynasty Chinese Kesi Kossu Dragon Robe Fragment Panel or rank badge. Could possibly make you from $500 to many thousands of dollars. Definitely an EBay item where the sky’s the limit. Great find my friend! Take your time and do some research before selling it as it may go for big money. Cheers! CP
I now LOVE TRENCH ART....Guess you learn something everyday! I am so jealous of the garden...New Yorkers barley see that life so consider yourself very blessed to have land. I hardly ever see you haggle with anyone with price...guess its a New York thing unless the price is very moderate or we are just supporting someone ....I rarely ever pay asking price especially if I am reselling. That eagle was a great buy....love it!
We've just come back from a holiday in France and we drove round visiting the Somme battle sites. In the museum at Albert they were selling relics from the trenches. We bought some trench art, a carved shell casing, which we absolutely love, very similar to the ones you were looking at in this video. Also an ornate German mustard glass. It's a bit broken up but an incredible thing to own. Showed the kids your video and it was lovely to see. Thanks.
Eagle Scout :) I knew you were a good guy! I'm a proud Momma of a new Eagle scout. You always are so mannered and respectful to people....says alot about your character :)
The trench art was outstanding! I'd love to own a piece of that art. I have seen it in books, but I have never seen it in person. Thanks for sharing that. That was really a special piece of history! Also your garden is going gangbusters!
Used to know when I was a teenager. Lived in Wyoming and rock hunted with my dad. First time he went hunting he found a 25 lb. piece of green jade and he was hooked! Love watching you find all the cool stuff. So amazing! Thanks Dave!
I love when I learn something new I’ve never heard of trench art so wonderful. Hope you keep the doves for yourself good you said you were. Hope you’re very proud of being an eagle scout💙💙💙I display my marbles on glass flower frogs
Hi Dave, look at your tomatoes closely, as far as I know, deer don't like tomato plants. It could be tomato worms which are hard to see but grow very large and are the same color of the leaves. Are plants were looking the same way, and discovered the tomato worms were eating the plants.
The trench art is amazing!! WOW I have my Dad's marble collection from the 40's, there are even some from the 20's and 30's. Unfortunately I don't know anything about them other than they were my Pop's and they are priceless to me.🙂
Tony 2nd Hand Daisy, Is a marble collector for years. Good video 👍. The trench art was amazing, I have some pieces my Grandpa brought back from France when he was in WW1.
I think one of the shoes, the one with different bands/stitchings. are modeled after sami design ,they are the indigenous ppl that live in northern norway/sweden /finland and russia (Lappland)
I have only seen a few smaller trench art.pc's in the past. This was amazing to see, thank you so much Dave. This collection really resonated with me, every hair on my body was raised. Wish she could sell the collection to a museum, so many more people cute see and appreciate it. ❤
All that Trench art, never seen so many in one place. The price for the lot sounded like a good deal, looked like there was a heap there. Makes my 3 little ones on the book case here seem unworthy..Thanks again for the video.
Hello Dave 👋. Is it tougher in the winter to pick up items, I would think it would be . I could only imagine all the different things you’ve seen and yet to see 👍
The one marble you said was a good one is called a (flame) circa 1920-1940 . Absolutely loved the trench art . Like you said its really hard to find cool stuff.
No Pumpkin pin? Side garden question: Our cherry tomatoes have grown like crazy this year too- we need to figure out a better staking option than just sticks for next year- what have you found to work the best?
A lifetime collection for 5,500.00, I wouldn't be able to get the cash out of my pocket fast enough... (yes I have the cash for my collecting habit) I have never in my 45 years of collecting have seen that much trench art in one place at one time. Once in a lifetime opportunity. WOW!!!
I don't think it was this video and I don't read all the comments so someone may have told you this already, but I think it was a poster you bought with Mick Jagger on it recently, and did you know that Andy Warhol did that cover? don't know if it will raise the price but thought you should be aware. love your videos
Dave when you learn about the marbles could you please share it. I have a lot from my Dad when he was coin hunting coins he would give me the marbles he would find. I just would like to know about them.
A lot of trench art, raises my eyebrows seeing a lot looking the same. Wandering if someone is doing the art work in present day with just blank shells
I find it hard to believe that much trench art could be ''good''.....if you had the 5500 and dumped that much into the system it would take a dive anyway...we went thru this years ago with wells fargo boxes, spittoons, belt buckles.etc etc...who knows??.......take care..
I was screaming at my screen I have looked high an low for a piece of trench art. On my Dad's side the men have served since the early 1800 s. I have had no luck finding any.
I feel like I say the same thing every video, but...WOW. Such beautiful treasures today!!! The Italian stonework, the Scottie pin, the folk art shoes, and super pretty marbles! Thanks for taking us along!! L😍VE the garden, too! Always interesting in here!

Love the Dove inlay picture. Looks like a chalice, representing Jesus and the Doves, represents the Holy Spirit.
I love the dragon embroidery!
The Dove picture and eagle figure are awesome
LOve the one with the oak leaves and acorns!
I think one of the shoes, the one with different bands/stitchings. are modeled after sami design ,they are the indigenous ppl that live in northern norway/sweden /finland and russia (Lappland)

Nice plants in your garden.......
Back in the day all marble players had a steelie in their bag. Most were ball bearings you traded for. All sizes.
The dove piece is a technique called pietra dura (hard stone). Could be made in Italy or possibly India .
Hearing you were an Eagle Scout explains a lot Dave. Be Prepared!
Dave I'm so happy you found your marbles
All that Trench art, never seen so many in one place. The price for the lot sounded like a good deal, looked like there was a heap there. Makes my 3 little ones on the book case here seem unworthy..Thanks again for the video.
you should plant some garlic and some oregano or high flowering herbs near your tomatoes so the bees will pollinate your plants ten fold.
Good tip👍✌️
love the video. the Onyx picture is beautiful. all the stuff you got was great. and i collect eagles to.
Shouting take it on the dragon picture ;) I liked the rose trench art too.
That trench art is awesome. Wish I had been there to pick one up.
I also watch the British show Salvage Hunters, and I wonder what Drew Pritchard would have bought if he had gone along with Dave on this trip
Fantastic finds
Nice finds Dave
Make some pickles or cold cucumber soup! Nice video, thank you really enjoyed it.

I've lost my marbles!! You found them!😂😂
You need to slice and fry up some of those cucumbers, just dredge in flour, salt and pepper and fry. Delicious.

OMG! THAT TRENCH ART! 😎😎😎
I knew it! I knew you were gonna get those marbles!!!! Peace Dave. OHIO
I love you taking us with you. Dave what is trench art?
No Pumpkin pin?
Side garden question: Our cherry tomatoes have grown like crazy this year too- we need to figure out a better staking option than just sticks for next year- what have you found to work the best?
Dave.... The "cat eye" marbles are worth the most money, dont know enough of others though.
Friggin Eagle Scout!? I need to see a smore being made or I am calling balderdash.
LOL

I agree, I always keep collections together. I wish I could have gotten that collection.

5500 sounded pretty reasonable..and that was her asking price, so maybe a little lower with cash in hand. They'd do well at Brimfield for you.
Hi Dave, I am intersted in the Dragon-Stitching-Picture. Would you sell it and ship to Germany? I will make you a good offer.
👍
I find it hard to believe that much trench art could be ''good''.....if you had the 5500 and dumped that much into the system it would take a dive anyway...we went thru this years ago with wells fargo boxes, spittoons, belt buckles.etc etc...who knows??.......take care..
What days and hours are they open ??
Only thing I know about marbles is I've lost mine.
