As a parent I was always very concerned about the idols my kids looked up to. Never once worried about TSwift. I started listening to her at the beginning when my babies were still babies. Now they're all wonderful adult humans (18-23). She's just an incredible human.

The fact that she helped the economy, donates hundreds of millions, pays her entire crew well (including big bonuses), broke all kinds of records in the music industry, and has inspired millions of people across the globe probably spoke volumes when Time editors were discussing the issue.
She's a positive influence on our children and adults for that matter

She single handedly got over 70k new voters to sign up, and has single handedly help improve the American economy with her on going tour. She has paved way for artists of all genres to be motivated to fight for the ownership of their own music, and has done countless charity work year after year, even going as far as buying homes for those with less. She is simply an amazing human being. Well deserved.

Taylor Swift was first entertainer who earns over 1 Billion Dollars per year. She donates hundreds of Millions of Dollars on Local cities she performs in. For instance, she gave millions to fund a food bank, enough for a year. She pays her staff very well.
She does not! Her Eras tour will take in $1 Billion THIS YEAR ONLY!! After tour costs and taxes it will be much less! And if she has a 360 deal with her label , they will take half of each ticket sold ( 3rd party vendor sales not included) and half of merchandise sales. The artist is also responsible for all touring costs! She will probably earn 30% of that $1B at the end of the day! Not bad, but certainly not $1B!! Facts!
She does nit make billions. Her show costs are huge and she really does nit do that many shows. She has great PR and really worth about 400 million tops. She also never gave 55 million in bonuses. That is more fake news to keep her in public eye. If true she would have had to give 250,000 to over 200 employees each. Highly doubt it but the public eats it up as if the truth.
Any money made us eaten in arena rent, roadies, staff, paying management fees, taxes and dancers to name a few.

That's net worth, not earnings. What she has in property, investments, and money in the bank, not what she got paid this year.

Owing, of course, to the huge success of Eras Tour, AND, that move that thrust her into the radar of NFL fans, which is such a big juggernaut in American culture. Taylor isn't a POP Queen, she is a GREAT poet of our time. Her music makes me feel seen, due to how she writes her lyrics. She increases the financial stability of every state and city she plays in. She achieved the status of billionaire on the basis of her musical talent alone, never mind what she *could* do if she diversified. One of her concerts even registered on the Richter scale as a seismic event! College courses are being created to study the Taylor effect on music, the entertainment (and auxiliary) industries, group psychology, etc. So, yes, she can certainly qualify for Person of the Year, and props to her for it being granted to her.
