FYI. I had a 2018 chrysler 300 that gave me the same problem. Dealership tried to charge me about 1k as well. The rep in parts department told me this was a common issue with mopar cars. I contacted mopar and put in a claim. It took about 6weeks but I was able to get 3 door panels and down by the shifter done for FREE. Warranty already expired...
Thank you for making the video bro. Unfortunately my Chrysler 300s started to do the same thing and it’s been looking shabby in my eyes so I can’t wait to fix it.
As a Charger owner who had this problem, I have yet to find anybody that has used a glue/cement/epoxy that has lasted any significant time. The panel needs to be stapled into place to guarantee a permanent fix. This is the fix: th-cam.com/video/0-EKSm4Yt1Y/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=A.R.T.%27sRealRepairsforRealCustomers I did this 18 months ago and it worked perfectly. I bought a $30 staple gun from Harbor Freight and borrowed a small compressor from a friend. You can probably rent a compressor and staple gun for well under $100, and that's a bargain compared to the $1300 fix Chrysler proposed.
@@sumcrazydude OK that's great, but that's only 5 months. Let's see if it lasts a year, through four seasons (if that applies to where you live) I'm not criticizing you, just sharing my experience. To anybody that uses an adhesive fix, good luck, I honestly hope it works for you. none of us should have to deal with this BS in the first place
@@FrankCoit My passenger side went first and was so bad you couldn't rest your arm on it and you could see an inch of the white inside it from outside the car, then the driver side starting lifting, and that's when I tackled it. BTW, it's been about 18 months now since I did the fix and it still looks great.
Thank you @sumcrazyguy I have the same problem with my 2017 Chrysler 300c....but its all the door panels.Im going to give this a try and I hope it works. Thanks again bro!
I’ve done this twice on the panel down by the shifter on my 300, and after a month it gives out. What specific glue did you use for the panel? I’ve tried 2 different plastic glues with no luck ☹️
Just curious what you used in the past that didn't work? I need to repair a charger panel as well. Was going to go with JB Weld until I saw this video.
You can also use a heat gun to loosen material put clamps on it to hold in place the take a staple gun 3/8 staples to hold in place. Then putting epoxy on it to cover the staples then paint it.
@sumcrazydude used your idea last weekend on my wife's charger. Worked great, the epoxy seems super strong. I wonder if using a seam roller while the epoxy is drying would take out the divets. All in all it is a night and day difference, turned out great thanks...
This IS the video I'm looking for. Thanks dude. Both front door panels doing this on my 2016 SXT. Much better than that $1000 number the shop gave me

Look at the time I released this video. That's how long it has been since I fix it and still holding strong

Is it always the passenger side? My drivers side is fine, but the passenger side keeps coming off

@kilroy2517 mine still holding too. It seems that glue runs hot and it molds the foam under the vinyl to stay in shape.
Nice job....looks good 👍🏼 i need this done ASAP it looks bad.....thanks for sharing
You can do it!

Same exact car and issue, did you end up trying this?
Being this video is a year old, how has the glue held up?
Strong, still no movement from when I originally did it.
Don’t feel bad. Porsches do the exact same thing.
Cool another way to use duck tape 😂
Lmao
I am having a hard time getting the panel off. Can i fix it with it still on the car?
I wouldn't recommend it but, if you protect all other parts that are not related to the panel, I think it can be done while mounted.

Body molding glue
Thank you
Thank you
My center console is peeling away idk how to fix it 😭
The plastic just pops out! I just resealed mine & it looks so much better. I got body panel adhesive and used clamps/ my hands
My brother.... Is it still holding
Holding strong 💪
I'm curious is the panel still holding? For some reason mine keeps coming back apart, but I used different types of glues.
Mine still holding strong

thank you!!
I figure yall needed this 🙂
Does the epoxy hold over time? Im hoping, this shit was $90 plus I had to get a gun.. thanks for the ideas in the vid....
Yes it holds hard, I have left my car out in the sun for hours and still holds the shape.
Also thanks for the support 🙏

Does this effect the 2020 and beyond models?
I don't believe it does
Why not staple?
Staples are not a consistent hold, eventually you will see where tha staple its holding
Try "peel" instead of "peal" 😂
