      Yes! The Cold Steel Kobun is an awesome self-defense Fixed Blade, in my opinion. Because, it's very concealable for it's size. And, it's big enough to be intimidating and deadly in combat. Right on, Bro! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      Yes, Wild Bill. And, I wish they would bring back the fixed blade Oyabun... The Kobun and the Lite Fixed Blade Series of the Tanto and Outdoorsman rock, too... Cool name for a cool knife , Lynn comes up with real fun and serious names for his knives at the same time.
    You made another good purchasing Stiletto.
    Be nice to see all of them side by side at some point ,the new and older Kobun by CS .
    Very self-defense oriented designed knife.

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I like the Kobun and Oyabun names and stories behind the names. :-) Note: The Taiwan versions are the same, except for the Secure-Ex Sheath. The Japanese version has a different blade polish or finish and the sheath is made differently, too... But, other than that, they are basically the same as far as blade pattern, size, weight, steel, and handle design and materials. But, I can do a video with my old and new one's; great suggestion, Bro! Peace, Stiletto :-)

      Are you talking about the items that are no longer available and are highly desirable? If so, yes! That's why I have spread the word, to buy all that you like, now... Because, as soon as they're gone, the Collectors will start selling theirs at full retail at first and go up from there... That's what usually happens in the Knife World. That's why, many of us invest in our blades; we know they will increase in value when they are no longer available, if we keep them in desirable condition. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      @@chrisirick4317 And, it looks like GSM CS isn't going to continue a lot of the old items... So, many will go up in value... My advice is to get what you like, now, before they are gone and only available at Collector's prices... And, if you want to sell, I would wait until the Online Dealers are out of stock of everything... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    Mate I still think your Lynn Thompson's lost love child brother? Well you've done it to me again brother.... After watching your review and seeing other examples online of what this monster of a blade can do, I gave myself no other options than to hit the fire button on a serrated beast as well! Man what premier piece of kit this blade is and then some? Mate can I ask you a couple of quick questions, only if and when you find time?
    1. Tell me brother, what's the sheath like that comes with it and
    2. What's you method of keeping the CS serrations at their optimum level of sharpness?
    Only if you you find the time my friend, no rush.... Cheers, Muzza

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Kobun comes with a Secure-Ex Sheath. And,I never use my serrated blades; they, for me, are strictly for SD... And, the reason why I treat them that way, is because, I don't want to have to re-sharpen them... :-) The knives I use for everyday cutting chores are the one's I can re-sharpen easily... So, they tend to be my plain edge folders... I hope this helps... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    I like theses knifes price point is awesome serated or plain edge I owned 3 of them all serated. Broke all 3 of them. they need to make them out of carbon steel be a lot stronger. I was really hard on them to be honest cold steel way. Also the clip that they come with is really junk it really doesn't do anything to deploy the knife. The sheath is good just have to find a way to hold it better. The sad part is I bought one of the drop point throwing cold steel knifes. That had a better sheath for under 20 a couple of years a go. That's not just for throwing it a good camp knife that's why I bought it. I have beton a lot of wood with that haven't broken that because it's 1050 carbon steel. Kobun come with a better sheath paying more money.
