I’m learning so much from your channel , about engineering. And how you solve problems you come across. I can see now why it takes years to restore a traction engine. Great channel. Keep up the great work.
Thanks mark appreciate it. We got lucky with the boiler being in good nick, saved us a few years work. We have some interesting stuff coming up. Cheers
Hi Norm. Watching you fight against an over sized washer did make me chuckle. So easily done, and I thank you for not hiding your mistake. Always a pleasure to watch you work. Onwards and upwards. 👏👏👍😀
@ I’ve only got a bit of road side hedge cutting to do, luckily done at the field work now. No, there aren’t any local ones (that I know of) at this time of year… plus, not sure I want to take my big girl out in the salt and road crap🫣
Hi Norm. Your not alone in the first set up mishap on the boring mill great out come in the end. I have not seen a HBM that size before, Who made that machine? Cheers 👍
@@Randysshop The spindle lined up lovely when it was offset. It’s a kearns s type with optometric readout. It needs some work to get all the readout working but I enjoy running it when I get a chance. I would recommend one for the home workshop as they don’t take up much floor space compared to the usual boring mill. Cheers
I've had one of those Vevor pull rams in my basket for a couple of weeks, do you think the 30 tons is genuine or are they "Chinese tons" ? I want one for pulling out pins on hydraulic rams.
@ I would say so. Obviously the build quality isn’t as good as the other yellow brand but it will do the job. Depends on how much you’re going to use it. I pulled another vevor ram apart to make a hydraulic squeezer and it was full of trash so would have eventually ruined the seals. Never had an issue with the hollow ram but rarely use it.
@@VintageIronuk Thanks for that. I do treat a lot of these Chinese tools as a "kit of parts" but when they're ten times cheaper than the likes of Enerpac, they have to be worth a punt if you have the means to fettle them ?

The set ups take way more time than the machining. Thanks for this weeks update, 2 videos this week ! Brian from South Yorkshire.

Your skill set is amazing. And yet you still make mistakes like the rest of us! Thanks for the vid
Sunday morning vintage iron, always look forward to it. Loved the the washer causing problems the sort of thing we all do ! Made me smile 😊
Looks so obvious when you watch it back!! Thanks for watching
Cheers
Norm, amazing what a 30 ton press will do to a washer😅🤦🏼♂️😊👍🏴
I am glad I have never done that! 😁 I had to chuckle at the slightly too big washer. Hey it happens. It's all part of the fun they tell me.
Double Norman in one day!😁👌. That washer is the kinda thing I’d do, then sit there for half an hour winding my self up till I have a brew😆.
@@casto- Turns out my computer work is very similar to my bush pulling, we didn’t mean to post both videos 😆 hope your keeping well on the farm 👍
@ I ain’t complaining 😆👌. I need to get into the workshop and get some bits sorted then I’m done till after Xmas!
@@casto- Fair enough, Can’t be much left to do in the feild. Do you guys do any tractor runs near Christmas?
