Big fan here from New Zealand. This is legit, one of the most underrated albums of all time. It's in my top 10 albums of all time. Not sure how to describe what genre this is. It's like doomfolk/rock or something.... Morwan's first and latest album are great too, but this album will always be next level for me.. even better when you're drinking haha. My brother and me listen to it during drink ups and we end up dancing like villagers around a bonfire. So great.
Doomfolk is a nice word. My ma who grew up during the first punk wave and likes heilung and other stuff like that says it's pagan punk. I don't understand the lyrics so I can't say she's entirely right but the chants and horns lend to it 🤌 They're in my playlists with 16 horsepower & yatkha, so that's a spectrum it exists on for me. (Not to sully the name of either band with one another, not trying to hide peas in your potatoes here, but Morwan and Static-X could also be in the same venndiagram of "evil+disco")
