if you wanted to use the taunt package from Barrens, you could make more Zolas, which in turn can make more Zolas, which can make more Branns, which can allow more pop off turns, etc, and get far larger.
I feel you on nobody playing quirky decks. In Snap, despite having a decent CL that can build a lot of meta decks, I perpetually hover around gold because the second I creep past it, it’s all meta, and I really prefer to play random fun things I came up with myself.
I can't believe how often Regis sacrifices the quality of his stream, the user experience, and the general goodwill of humanity by crashing his stream intentionally, just to make people watch ads, on Twitch, a place I totally go.
I can't help but feel like this is the beginning of the end for Regis and hearthstone and its very bittersweet. Lots of negative talks about HS in this video while talking up Snap. I just want you to be happy and I see that Snap is doing numbers for you so you should definitely do what you're passionate about especially when it's successful. Hey Regis you should play Rivendare spell Shaman. Essentially you put 26 spells in your deck, along with rivendare, taelan, and two flesh behemoths. You prescience twice, get all your minions in hand, play out rivendare, have it die, then play from De other side two turns in a row. The flesh behemoths and Taelan will draw all 3 horseman with the first from de other side, then the second one will insta kill the opponent. Really bad and slow deck but it’s a ton of fun if you pull it off
All I do is play Renounce Darkness Warlock (Earned my 500 wins with Warlock that way) and Whizbang on wild ladder these days. RNGStone. I play decks with mass transform effects for my fun. Fires of ZinAzshari, Wyrmrest Purifier, Cera'thine Windrunner, Prince Liam, Lady Prestor, Arch-Villian Rafaam, etc. I don't win a lot but it's fun.
i personally adore silly combos and just weirdness in hearthstone but i found that doing them is either.... way to niche and you can like 30% of the time pull off whatever wacky thing you wanna do or it just becomes something really broken that shouldn't of existed lol.
Combos are just kinda like that in turn-based card games. Killing your opponent outright is the only thing stronger than taking another turn, so if the wacky woohoo weird deck is any level of reliable it becomes exponentially more powerful. This issue really isn't a Hearthstone-unique thing, look at high level play in any card game, and any way it's been "fixed" is with a sledgehammer instead of a chisel, you have to add intrusive mechanics like health gating (which you'd have to build the entire game around), or heavy disruption cards that suck to play against (like Theotar).
I also have a lot of random disconnects with hearthstone.. Then it tries to reconnect, happily announces that it succeeded, and proceeds to kick me out anyway. It's usually faster to just kill HS with task manager and hit play ASAP.
I think the playing for fun thing is spot on in Standard. People don't try funny deck ideas for established decks or even try to play decks with a weird spin. It's always the established stuff and it's so weird when they then complain about the meta being stale.
Im starting to think Brann should have stayed in wild where there are so many more hyper aggro decks and disruption to counter the stupid combos he enables.
It'd be nice if Hearthstone had a system to gain more ranks when you were confident in your games. The mechanic could risk your current rank points against the opponent's rank in a wager. 🧐
I get that this is a snap joke but for anyone that genuinely thinks this would be a good idea, note that the length of snap games are what allows for snapping to really work. In snap, you can lose 8 cubes and make them back within an hour without snapling once. In Hearthstone, you can play games that last up to an hour, on average around 20 minutes. Only hyperaggro aggro decks would actually like the mechanic since those are generally 5 or 6 minutes, assuming neither side ropes or concedes before lethal is showing.
about the win over fun stuff: Most players probably are f2p and probably only can afford 1 deck. It's not that easy to 'try stuff' when u have barely any dust :(

so if we double 2+2+2 times makes the beetle 6-12-24-48-96-192-384+4 for a massive 388 charge taunt where u can spend 2 mana to give it +1/+1 and gain 389 Armor... druid said no to balance...
You need to survive against an aggro-midrange meta with ramp druid (an archetype with less than 50% wr), find you ramp cards, find guff, find the combo, get a turn to play the combo, and then you can otk. Woow blizzard really went nuts with this one!!!

Like Regis said, this deck is about fun, it's absolutely not about consistently winning.
Not everyone has time to ladder for 'spectacle.' First priority for me playing on a limited budget and time is to get to legend. Then, fun can be had and is had.
So many streamers I watch have been so miserable since Renathal got nerfed. It's making me sad. Vindicated, because I believed Renathal would be great on release, but sad that Blizzard decided he was TOO good despite the fact that he had a very fair winrate. To me it's almost like nerfing Reno - he's never going to save you on his own, he's only going to put you out of reach of decks designed to quickly burst you down.
How about bizarre price changes in most regions? 700% price increase in Argentina 150% in Brazil Is it worth a video? HS is basically dying in those regions
They can do a sick unbeatable combo on turn 20, meanwhile evolve shaman spits out 30 damage in stats on turn 2, Druid has plenty of interaction in the early game
