Our choir sang this in church today. It was very special ❤. Thank you Mr Rutter for this amazing piece. It’s beautiful and powerful. My daughters favorite Christmas Song
Still sobbing. Merry Christmas everyone:+) May the Christ child and His Mother shower you all with their love, peace and joy this Christmas and always:+) God bless~
This had me almost in tears en route to Wells on the 376 bus. This afternoon. I am hoping that at the Christmas Carol service on the 23rd December to hear it and perhaps to sing some of it. My own self. My brother passed away just last week! And this carol has become somewhat more special.
@@stephenfarthing3819 Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. Soooooo sorry for your loss. Hang in there, k? God is probably using this for you to get closer to Him...always a good idea:+) God bless~
Although I sing in a small choir (8-10 voices at most), it is a piece like this that brings the feeling out and tears flowing. How I miss singing with my choir.
John Rutter is one of the greatest composers of his generation. Love the final acappella verse with the orchestra coming in on the verse. Lovely. Such a beautiful hymn.
It’s about time he got a knighthood, he has written some of the loveliest music and songs, this is one of my favourites along with the Angel carol. I sing in a choir and get excited when we get to sing a Rutter hymn or carol
I have discovered that John Rutter turned down a Knighthood, he said that there are people more worthy to receive a Knighthood than himself. I say not in the eyes of the people that love your music
I feel something different! A great sense of sadness - three weeks before Christmas 2023 - my brother passed away! I still feel that even today and almost 4 months after his funeral service! I used the second verse at it. We were still in the Christmas season and I will want to do this on the 6th December of this year! Because I want to!
God comfort you - and let you sing this one 🙏 may it lift your heart xx we are all missing loved ones who have gone on ahead of us xx some were quite young too, when they took flight - and we miss them forever - but - some day (SOME DAY 👍) we shall be together again 👍 promise 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As someone who is now involved with more modern worship, i must say I miss these times. Used to sing in a choir in the 80's, and we did this with Mr Rutter once. Beautiful!
Bob: Back in 2007, I had the nerve to actually nominate Mr. Rutter for British knighthood. Imagine, a Yank thinking he could do such a thing! Well, it turned out my letter actually reached the desk of the lady of the house at Buckingham and I guess she was quite taken with my 150-word correspondence, as two British agencies followed up with letters to me, acknowledging my letter. Mr. Rutter later told me he was quite content with his OBE honor alone.
JK, I believe worship is always changing. Having different styles of worship is more a reflection of the diversity of the people God created, than people trying to be cool. I would never go to a church for tradition alone. The most important things are: is God leading me, and is the word of God taught faithfully. It doesn't matter what the worship is like if the teaching is leading you astray. Blessings
@@theemrsgconsider how God Himself prepared 250 singers with gifting in music to lead worship in His Temple. Now juxtapose that picture with ripped jeans toting moder worship. Enough said
Fabulous. But the high notes in the chorus are a little beyond me - so i would sing it in a lower key - lovely though ❤ well done, Joh Rutter - brilliant writer of Christian music, it is always a pleasure to listen to his songs and hymns. And such an honour when our Cancer Support Choir chooses one of John Rutter's songs for us to learn 😊 ❤
It's a few more months since I wrote some words some three months ago. The sense of both grief and determination to do this carol - somehow - remains intact and I remain that resolute to do so! I hope that I get to do it! God willing I will!
Covid19 restrictions permitting, Leeds Philharmonic Chorus is hoping to present a concert of John Rutter's music at Leeds Town Hall on December 19th, with John Rutter himself conducting. I wonder if this will be one of the items we sing?

I'm now not too sure if I will ever get to sing it myself- this year! I want to! Especially to complete the first year of mourning for my late brother! I remain perhaps a little saddened that I won't do it! 😭
You are very good and this song is really beautiful! My choir sang it during one of our last performances. Part of the arrangment is original. Write this in the search. You're going to love it for sure! Corale Novarmonia - Candlelight Carol (J. Rutter)
BEAUTIFUL. I'm using this U-Tube Version while practicing for Cherokee Chorale (Canton, GA) Christmas concert to be presented 12/14 & 15. If you are listening to this on your computer, you might want to turn down the volume if the tones will be altered by the small speakers.
Where can I get this music from? where can I buy the music sheets??? I really need the flute solo parts! Any help will be really appreciated!!! Thank you!

Tears every time. Such beauty
This is one of my favourite John Rutter carols 👏❤️❤️
This has to be the most beautiful and moving carol of all.
John Rutter's music is from heaven !!
ESPECIALLY his Christmas ditties....!!!!!!!!
Another deeply moving modern-day Christmas carol from the pen of the great John Rutter.

Such a beautiful hymn.
My favorite living composer, hands down.
And the Chorister Composer of the 20th and 21st Centuries! Next to Sir John Stainer of the 19th century.
BBN, the Bible Broadcasting Network played this song on 12/7/23. I never new the title then then. God Bless you BBN. Merry Christmas 🎁
My favorite Rutter...inspired me to go to London for his Christmas Concert at the Royal Albert Hall...one of the highlights of my travel

Very beautiful, love his composition . Very thankful to God introduced to his music a multitude of years ago. A very blessed season in the past.

You're right Bob. Today's music just doesn't touch anything of the past. Something about modern music is lacking... doesn't have that feel anymore.

Wonderful performance! So beautiful!
I hope that I get to sing it at Christmas this year! I'm one step closer to the doing so.
Sang this in high school, varsity choir. Just one of those songs that stuck🙏🏽
Of all of the Rutter tunes... this might be my THEE favorite!
There is no music superior to that of John Rutter!

i imagine hearing this on my way up to heaven
Imagine singing it when you get there! 🙏🏻 ❤ God bless to all who are listening to this tonight - and missing a loved one who is gone on ahead ❤
Very reminiscent of the Rutter Requiem, which I must say is one of my favourites.
Probably the best live version on TH-cam. Diction is excellent
Agree🥰🙏🏻♥️
Thank you so much!!! One of the most beautiful renditions on youtube!
Yes.♥️🙏🏻🥰
My choir sings this song every year
Delightful music ❤
Fantastic glorious!!
a special Christmas treat--THANK YOU
How do you capture
The wind on the water?
How do you count all the stars in the sky?
How can you measure

Or how can you write down

Candlelight, angel light
Firelight and star glow
Shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn
Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Angels are singing
The Christ child is born
Shepherds and wise men
Will kneel and adore him
Seraphim round him their vigil will keep
Nations proclaim him
Their Lord and their Saviour
But Mary will hold him
And sing him to sleep
Candlelight, angel light
Firelight and star glow
Shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn
Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Angels are singing
The Christ child is born
Find him at Bethlehem laid in a manger
Christ our Redeemer asleep in the hay
Godhead incarnate and hope of salvation
A child with his mother
That first Christmas Day
Candlelight, angel light
Firelight and star glow
Shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn
Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Angels are singing
The Christ child is born
Angels are singing
The Christ child is born
