I'm Roberts guitar tech and let me tell you.......he's a great guy.......funny as hell and fun to hang with!!! He's more than fair and treats his crew well!! those steel guitars are tough to maintain and I'm getting better and better with them....you can't use a tuner on them...its all ear and his pitch is as good as anyone on this planet!!! He's taken a traditionally country instrument and done things people said couldn't be!! he's original and that's what I love about him the most and he has to have the fastest fingers on this planet!!!!

Typically when people think of "the greatest (insert instrument) player of all time" they'll have to think way back in time and name someone who basically single handedly created a new style or genre of music (ex Duane allman created country rock almost single handedly, or Jimi Hendrix was the pioneer of heavy metal), but Robert Randolph took what was typically a country instrument and did what no one ever imagined doing with it. He rips through his chords switching back between rock, country, and blues sounds with the slightest of ease and with flawless transition. As someone who listens to as much music as I do and who tries to remain as unbiased as possible, Robert Randolph is by far the greatest steel guitarist this world has ever seen
So glad we still got young guys like this around to keep blues rock alive. When the big names are gone, we will hopefully have more younger artists around to keep the music alive amid all the new age garbage out there.
