I can understand you not wanting to show the actual process regarding the chickens. I have seen/participated in the process ever since I was a little boy (along with the processing of other animals). It's not a pretty sight.
I'm glad that you got off of the "marathon" work schedule. I worked nights much of my career with many 12 hour shifts and I do know that you don't ever "get used to it". My body is basically conditioned to where if the sun is up, I am up and when the sun goes down I go down.
I'm hoping that not only you and your lovely wife make it through this, but also everyone else get through it without any severe consequences. God bless and take care. I'm looking forward to more of your videos.

    GUYS,
    RE : eatin' chickens
A city girl goes down to the country to visit her Granny.
One day, Granny tells the girl, " Walk down the road a spell &
go into the country store there & pick me up a chicken for supper".
The girl does as she is told & at the store the counterman asked
"Do you want a poulet "? The girl says, "No, I'll just carry it".
    !

ND goats can breed by 7 to 8 weeks old. I don't know if you knew that or not. Need to separate little males from female siblings asap. Especially by 12 weeks. But it's been known to happen so much younger.

16 nights! My mother worked part time as a nurse, she only did night shifts, and towards the end of her career she worked 6 nights in a row. After day/night 4 we were tip toeing around her, really careful how we word something and be extra helpful. Man, she was cranky! Hope you are coping well with readjusting.

Hi, just came across your channel a few weeks ago and done some binge watching:) I love your property and what you have done with it. Your calm demeanor and way of presenting make your videos a real treat to watch. I was wondering what kind of work you are in, that you have to do 17 nights in a row. I have done rotation shifts in the past and it was not fun, never knew what day or what part of the day it was. Keep the video's coming please and stay safe and healthy. From Ontario, Canada.

jcra.ncsu.edu/visit/now-showing/details.php?serial=3470. I like their white flowers & they smell fantastic. Maybe check if there are zone appropriate cultivars for you guys & plant a couple so you can smell them off the porch in the spring. ( when there is breathing space 👍)

i been raising hundreds of them meat birds for over 38 years, you shouldnt loss more then 2% per hundred, problem is, people feed them the strait broiler grower feed, witch is far to high in chemicals nd protein, i mix one bag of grower to one bag cracked corn, one bag ground barly, one bag syobean meal, and keep the a few weeks longer, and all myy bird dress out 10 to 12Lbs, 4a 4Lb chicken is a total waste, when you add up you imput costs, time, and the butchering, its just not worth killing at a 4Lb dressed bird, and my loss is less then 2% per 100
