We got hit by hurricane micheal back in 2018 and it was a cat 5. I had just bought my first house a month before. Didn't have insurance yet. The hurricane destroyed everything on my property, and my house got removed with excavators and dump trucks. I now have a piece of dirt with nothing on it except for a foundation, and the trees that didn't get snapped in half. Hope you guys fair well and stay safe.
Damn that’s fucked. My dream is to own my own home one day… to have that taken and to end up still paying for something that’s not there anymore other than dirt, that’s rough…. I hope you own your dream house now and paid for. 🙏🏼

Glad Tampa was pretty much spared Josh. All we felt here in South Florida was a gust or 2 and a few rain bands. There were a couple of Tornados that touched down and ripped a few trees out though. I feel terrible for the people in Ft. Myers and Naples.

I agree with what you said about preparing. I lived in slidell Louisiana during Katrina. My mom and step dad pulled up the day they said to Evacuate. She ask me if we were leaving. I said hell no. She said it's going to be bad. I said every time a hurricane comes close it's going to be the bad one. I had just paid all my monthly bills. So I told my mom again it's all ways the end of the world. I had been living in New Orleans for around 20 years at that point and never once had any hurricane been worth Leaving for. My mom step towards me grab my ear and twisted. She leaned In and said son you have a new born and a 2 year old. Go pack your shit up and let's go and I don't want to hear a word except your ready to go. So being the 35 year old mani was I said yes mom and got ready to Evacuate. Fast forward 3 weeks after Katrina and we found out a 20ft plus wave of water rolled threw. I lived 2 miles In LAND from lake Pontchartrain. There was a water stan 9feet high where there water had sat for a few days Inside my house. If I would of stayed there is a good chance me my ex and my 2 boys would probably be dead. The moral of this long winded story is its better to lean towards the side of caution and Evacuate if they tell you to. My mom literally saved me and my family!

Back in the 70's when I lived in FL, the house was solid concrete, flat roof, all the windows had steel awnings that you could close in a few min. The whole neighborhood was like that. No plywood needed, they were bomb proof. All the houses built since are cracker boxes.

The Weather Channel called it "Negative Storm Surge" where the wind is off shore and blows the water out of the bays and rivers. They were showing that the bay was almost 8 ft below normal level.

Riding during quarantine was surreal. In Las Vegas the strip was empty, which made for the best rides.
I rode across the country and all over the southwest during the pandemic. It was amazing. The best ride I have ever had.
I bought my first bike and learned to ride during quarantine down in florida, most bars offered either curbside or stayed open against the rules lol
