Which would make sense as to why you'd have that sign in that scenario in the first place lol, you can't tell if the material is wet or dry completely, especially if you're nearsighted!

Sorry for your loss. My grandfather had dementia when he passed.
It's been a bit over a year since I lost my mom. She was. . . Altered before the end. Spent 20+ years taking care of her.
So many have talked about the last one, but I still want to say it: It's very moving, almost brings tears to my eyes. And this phenomenon will only get more and more often in the future.

That last one was so unexpected and out of left field it killed me in 2 ways, laughter and sadness. My heart goes out to those with dementia and those who have had a loved one go through dementia.
is it a concerning matter for my future that i can't remember chunk of my past that should remember. i am 30. i did go through severe depression. but is it a thing to be worried now or dementia just happens out of the blue to anyone?
@@torababdullah7952 I’m only 17, so I don’t have the knowledge of what it’s truly like to have dementia or any other related afflictions, but I hope things will be alright for you. I know this is coming from a random lurking stranger on the internet, but really, I hope things will be alright.
@@torababdullah7952 It may not be dementia. Memory is a very complicated system in the brain and lots of things can affect it. It may be dementia, but depression can also cause memory loss, amnesia, or difficulty in recalling things. I have amnesia at 27, and it's something I've been living with my whole life because of a dissociative disorder that I didn't know about, which has also resulted in multiple identities. It can be scary some days. It may be helpful to speak with a mental health professional, perhaps a therapist. Perhaps it can be treated or fixed, maybe you might be able to get back the memories you thought you lost.

@@torababdullah7952 depression is actually linked to memory loss. not that sure if it’s linked to dementia but yeah, i believe there’s a study on how depression affects memory. i’ve been through the same thing. i’m 18 now but when i was 13 i went through a period of severe depression and lost an entire year in memory. can’t remember anything at all
@@emmalee8548 thanks. I was a bit worried there. Maybe our brain copes with a memory that hurts us by suppressing it. And because it cannot exactly pick and choose so some of the neighboring memory gets blurry or hard to access. It must be for the best.

That last one. Having my parents lose their memory or forget who I am is my worst nightmare.
I'm currently going through it with both my grandmother and my great uncle. I'm 36 now and the older generation of my family is almost completely gone. I just have one grandmother a great uncle and great aunt. These are the first two that have gotten really bad dementia. It sucks man. It's really really bad. Cerrish the time you have now.
I once saw a dementia awareness ad that packed quite a punch. It shows an older couple standing hand in hand and below them is this text:
"She's suffering from dementia.
He has it."
It's awful. Going through it with my dad now. It's early but.. you get used to hearing the same questions or story's a few times an hour or day. You just have to be understanding. It's frustrating but you have to bottle that because.... its not their fault.
My grandma had one in the last years.
Watching her go from a kind, merry woman to the shell that doesn't even aware much of the people around her was sad for me, for my mom it probably was devastating.

I went back home to take care of my grandfather for a week while my aunt had a surgery. I lived with my grandparents and aunt til I was almost 30. He would yell my name and I would come running....then he would say, Who the hell are you? My family said he would always call out for me. He passed away at 96 years old. I'm crying as I write this...
My great grandfather passed about 11 years ago Alzheimers watching it make him forget us broke our hearts I could barely see through the tears while carrying his casket
@@wikidclownchris my dad has a military grave 125 miles away from me. When my mom died last year I was physically unable to make the drive, my sister refused to go so I had to send her off alone. Still makes me cry.

My grandma had dementia and Alzheimer's. Near the end she was calling for her oldest son to come out of the hallway and into the livingroom with her. He wasn't there. Nobody was. When she ended up in a hospital for an injury, she saw spiders all over the ceiling. She ended up dying before she forgot anyone. She went downhill real quick after her husband, my grandpa died. I have no offspring, probably never will. My family is distant. If I ever find myself in such a situation, there would be nobody to tell me.
