    Fun idea! I've just redone a bunch of horse fence here with larger woven wire. I've got tons left over so I'll have to give this a try!

      That sounds like a good opportunity 👏🏻 I'd love to see how this works wet vs dry, I have a feeling rain is gonna affect this sort of cabling quite a lot

    Love it... First time you have popped up in my feed.
    i enjoy all the experimenting and fiddling about too. I love recycling bits and bobs into antenna service.
    I think for an emergency it would be great but it really won't last long. It is only useful as electric fence because the 1500v jumps all the breaks in the 3 pathetic conductors then starts radiating the annoying click click clicks you can hear on your radios.
    Keep up the experiments..

      Thanks for watching, and glad you liked it.
      It's fun to see what works and doesn't when it comes to antennas.

    Thanks for sharing this experiment with us, Kjetil. I always enjoy seeing what people can make antennas out of. Alway fun to see.

    Thanks for the video. I have quite a lot of the twine size and 25 mm Fencing tape plus lots of different types of insulators and yor video has made me want to experiment. As many Electric Fence runs can easily be .5 kilometer or more and its all insulated its a perfect opportunity to try.

      That seems like a good start 😁 Hope you get to do some nice QSO's on it

    Hi buddy, tnx for experimenting.
    Maybe I've made something about this once. 🤔
    And the "human" mode QSO like the CW has been interesting in this event.

      Thanks for watching 😉 I have yet to try CW sadly, but maybe in another life. SSB would probably work perfectly on this

    A fun little project. Chances are we'll never need to use that type of wire but it is always good to remind yourself that less than ideal can still work.
    The 12-year-old in me would have preferred that you had connected the rope to the downpipe at neck height strictly for slapstick comedy purposes. 😉

    • @LB4FH
      @LB4FH  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, hopefully never any use for it, but it worked. Should've connected it to one of those zappers for extra slap-stick humor.. Hmm, maybe those will work as CW modulators too ;)

    If I ever get an external tuner, I will try the barb wire fence on my property. It mostly has metal fence posts but there is an old section with wood posts. About 1m max off the ground, so NVIS, but why not try?

    • @LB4FH
      @LB4FH  หลายเดือนก่อน

      NVIS can be surprisingly good some times, so well worth trying. Thanks for watching!
