I'm Italian and my parents have never liked brands. One of my mom's friends was very rich and often gave us her clothes which she didn't need anymore. They were by Armani, Valentino, Gucci...!
My mom sat down with a pair of scissors and cut the labels whenever possible. We tried to stop her but she was determined and said that we weren't sheeps. 😅 At school my siblings and I couldn't brag like the other children but some years later I learnt that I had been lucky to learn from my parents that wearing labels is silly.

Sadhguru is absolutely right! If you are sensitive, then you realize how important it is to wear organic clothing. You can also feel the effect of the different colors. For example: Blue gives peace and relaxation, i can't sleep on red color because it is very activating, white is sattvic and you feel most comfortable. Black, on the other hand, absorbs negative heavy energies.

However big we are we have no right to belittle others or their choice.
It may not appeal to us but still no one has a right to publicly make fun of anyone.
The same sermon could have been given in a generalised way.
Could have stated 'some people wear brand advertisement t shirts, shirts etc. but they should not....,'
and the sermon could have been given.
    Why publicly ridicule someone anyone.
Was taught way back in kindergarten to not do so.

If the person feels mocked or humiliated by this answer tells me that he is not proud of what he is doing. Very unconsciously people do this including me. When when someone explains with this much clarity, one should make a conscious decision if he wants to continue doing it or want to make changes in his approach

Needless to say that someone, who's really so in oneself, and has perfected this obnoxious art through practice over the years, finds one's own reflection in everyone, whenever one ventures to look at others ! How farcical and hypocritical it looks !
While rejecting the offer firmly and squarely with thanks, let it be known that I am optimally satisfied with what I have already got in life - by theGRACE OF.GOD.! As such, I don't have any other ambition ! May someone have any ! Besides, I am not a product for sale ! Is that understood ! Someone should better understand it !
Last but never the least, we are grateful to our parents ! They have taught us not to bow down before anyone, except GOD !

He gave an answer, just not to the question that was asked. He said there are two reasons we might select clothing:
      1) aesthetics
      2) your body is at ease
Then he tells people to change to an organic loose fitting fiber for three days and notice the difference.
He said the only time to wear something uncomfortable or to advertise is if you are trying to achieve a certain purpose or to sell something. I fully agree with his remarks and have never worn any clothing that displayed its brand. I think women who carry Louis Vuitton purses look ridiculous and the worst part is they think they are impressing someone.
The question, if I recall, was inquiring after his comments on how western fashion has infiltrated India and what he thinks the significance of this might be.

How painful for the kid who took the time to come see his hero speak only to be ridiculed in front of his peers and now the world on video, I wonder if the kid left the lecture with sadness and hate in his heart. Sadhguru could of just offered to swap out his t-shirt for an Isha t shirt then explain why, not mock the kid. Sadhguru forgot what he once looked like spending days in a jungle, smelly, muddy and then being welcomed with open arms and fed. Never judge others by how they appear. My heart goes out to the kid

    • @shaqdesh
      @shaqdesh ปีที่แล้ว +2

First of all you should not see anybody as your Hero. Second of all, everything Sadhguru said is for his transformation. If that kid is crying right there because of what Sadhguru said, than he missed Sadhguru completely. Nobody should be able to determine how "you" feel within yourself. It's your choice. And Sadhguru is right, why are you wearing that brand. For what? It's just to be accepted by the society. And that is rather sad. The world needs to be real and not solace everybody for literally nothing. Now that kid will think twice before buying something. It's a great lesson.

That was not mocking in a serious way it was just light hearted. Sometimes we tend to relate things with our own inner child wounds. You don't know if that individual felt embarrassed or carried love or hate or if he felt ecstatic or happy.
