Finally someone who gets it. Every CMHC loan is a bad loan by definition. No reasonable lender would make that loan if it wasn't for government guarantee. Add interest rate manipulation by BoC to the mix, and you get this mother of all bubbles. Shut down CMHC and watch how fast things go back to normal.

Thats should change. Otherwise Canada's economy will tank. We need Canadian to "work" towards economic growth.

This is so reassuring to hear this discussion. It is high time Canadians realized that there is only so much money in the economy. The only way to create money is by encouraging Canadian businesses. Printing money only devalues currency. Real estate does not create jobs in the economy unless we have a policy that favours construction. It is a bubble the government doesn't want to burst but must indeed burst for greater good of Canadians at large and for benefit of our future generations.

how about controlling the greed, government could put a cap on corporate profits on housing. And, charge less taxes. When I sold my building for $150,000 I paid over $20,000 in taxes. And this yo-yo on interest rates cold be capped as well.

What is important is a roof over your head and food on the table! Everything else is just bonus if you can afford it.

it's bad, it's really bad and Mark feels for you, but he will still vote turdo because of the environment and his "green" convictions. It's amazing how Canadians think. America just needed 4 years to make huge changes. Think about it...
