Best part about Eat the Menu with expensive restaurant is getting to see all the interesting foods that are usually just exclusive to rich people. A lot of these menu items barely have photos on the Internet
It's a win-win situation: and ad to the restaurant that appeal to the masses that it's worth it to dine in high quality restaurant, especially after all covid ordeal - people like good food and are willing to pay for it, but because of current economic situation ate picky to were to spend their expenses... And it's a good content for the show, that centers itself around tasting food! Sure, Keith might not always be honest about he liked or not (considering he doesn't like fragrant stuff, has to sensitive tongue and came up with tomato soup flavoured macarons), but it's definitely better than eating entariety of McDonald's or Taco Bell.
I really appreciate that Kwesi corrected the pronunciation of “plantain” once to the linguistically correct pronunciation and they’ve been saying it that way since. I know it’s something so basic to do, but it shows how much they care about linguistic differences & their respect for their friend.
I loved when Keith finished the celebration of asparagus and described the food like eating art and “take that museums!” And the chef smiled in the background ❤ even in the increasingly fancy settings Keith can bring a smile 😊
Brennan would love/ hate this. Love it because the restaurants are empty but hate because the food is not heavy. He is a creature of habit. He has the same hamburger every day because he knows he will like it.
There is such a difference in how Keith feels after eating Michelin food vs what he has in the past. The quality of the ingredients must be part of it, aside from the size of the menu. I enjoyed this as much as the other ones. Love seeing the amazing food that I could never afford.
Also time between dishes, way more veg and a lot less is fried. Actually less cheese and sugar as well which take a toll on most but seem to especially take Kieth out.
I think that part of it too is that many of these fancier restaurants operate on a tasting menu, where the idea is that you're expected to eat everything on the menu over the course of a meal and so they can plan accordingly. At normal restaurants, the assumption is that you order one to four things (either just a main meal or, at most, an appetizer, main course, side, and dessert) and they want to make sure you leave not only full but often with leftovers to take home.
I never thought i'd be so happy to see a man I don't know eating fancy food, after all the damage he has inflicted on his stomach for our entertainment I'm so glad he gets a treat
Keith is really the main character. We are all the viewers of his slowly growing culinary empire. Can't wait for the day we see a collab with Gordon Ramsey!
I'm pretty sure Rachel said on YCSWU last year or the year before that they have been in touch with his people. But they haven't been able to work anything out (yet?).
I'm always really glad when Keith explains the textures of stuff, because man, I would not have connected some of those descriptions with the way that the food looked. This is a great series!
This restaurant does remind me of the movie “The Menu”. With the whole watching the food being prepared, everyone is served at the same time and extravagant plating
I love the subtle detail of Keith’s suit having faint blue checkers. I dunno how intentional his wardrobe choice was but I think it’s fun how it’s a nod to that certain era while flexing the upgrade of the content 🔥🔥
Aww this is making my day. Its so refreshing to see yall being the same humble, down to earth, goofy curious guys even while enjoying micheline star meals. I thought I'd prefered the old fast-food etm, but I'm really enjoying this series so far 🫶🏻
I prefer not seeing Keith slowly growing more and more miserable so Im thrilled with this. I always felt guilty watching him go through it just so I could get opinions about items
YB and her veggie journey reminded me of a conversation my husband and I had recently. He and his coworkers had been talking about how picky children get as they get older, and his coworkers said something about how impossible it is to get their children to eat veggies. But our children LOVE veggies, especially anything green. My oldest will legitimately turn down whatever meat or carb we’re having and eat an entire plate of roasted asparagus or sautéed brussels sprouts. I recalled DETESTING basically all veggies and a lot of fruits growing up, especially green beans, because my parents always tried to force me to eat warmed canned green beans. I couldn’t handle the texture-I would gag or even throw up. But now they’re one of my favorite foods because my husband sautés them, sometimes dressing them in delicious spices, oils, and sesame seeds. It made us realize that most children hate vegetables probably because they only receive them over-boiled or steamed to mush. Of course they don’t want to eat that! Makes me especially grateful for my husband, who spent a decade in restaurants before switching careers. Marry someone who knows their way around a kitchen, y’all. 😂
This is how Sam gets you. First you dine together at a Michelin star restaurant. Then you wind up on an episode of Game Changer. Then you become a personality on his right-wing media venture Dropout America. Don't let him sink his alcohol-allergic claws into you, Keith!
as someone that usually doesn´t watch eat the menu ( not so much into the sounds and visuals of food eating), this was surprisingly nice! curiostity made me give it a try and than I just enjoyed the whole thing and felt sad as it was already over. I had a lot of fun and want to point out how well Keith did adapt his way of approach to this setting and how well all the guests did follow the flow that Keith created. Overall really well done guys !
This is the first restaurant that I’ve seen that I really feel truly deserves and encompasses the original meaning and status of the Michelin Star and fine dining. Innovative but still delicious, unique but still comforting, high class but welcoming, truly a form of art with food!
That's really inspiring, my dude doubled down and grew two Michelin star restaurants out of one regular one. The food looks excellent, I'd love to try the hay baked chicken dish in particular. I also love the mix of being serious and respectful with the chefs and their food and also being silly.
Keith: "I'm so nervous to be professional enough here" The cooks there: shrugging in the background while tasting something, casually standing around while wiping down a counter, probably just happy he's enjoying himself and hopefully having a good time
I've had the opportunity to eat at several Michelin star restaurants over the years (including 3 star restaurants The Connaught and Core in the UK), and the difference between those restaurants and regular ones is the presentation and attention to detail. It feels like you are eating art - everything is so precisely placed and has a definitive purpose as part of the overall dish. With that being said, based on taste alone, I think I would prefer Korean Fried Chicken (and I am being 100% serious). I think I'm too much of a boor to really appreciate fine dining and the only reason I have ever had an opportunity to eat at these restaurants is because of my job. The service is also on a whole other level - there are often more staff than there are diners, and everything runs like a well oiled machine. One place even mailed me a thank you card and small gift after dining there. Is it worth the price? (in some instances, a $1000 plus for the full tasting menu and wine) Not in my opinion. But it is an experience that you won't forget.
Seems you can spend a lot on a brilliantly produced food series and still not put all of your content behind a paywall. Funny that. Edit: there has since been an update to Watcher’s decision. And I’ll be damned- they listened!
After the Watcher announcement, I wonder how the Try Guys are doing financially. I’ve been afraid to point this out but it is obvious the videos are not doing as well as they used to. These days the highest number of views this channel can get is 1 million which are mostly Keith’s food stuff and even their most popular show, Without a Recipe, didn’t do as well as the earlier seasons. I just wonder if they’re making enough money especially with a big office.
Conservatively estimating, they make ~200k/month from Patreon alone, not factoring in paid sponsorships, views, merch, etc. I hope that’s enough that they’re doing okay, and if not I hope they don’t make a similar goofy-ass decision to Watcher
They have said on the podcast (especially Zach) that they are less concerned these days with getting views and more concerned with making stuff that matters/is fun to them. They've said clearly views have to be considered to some extent because they have people working for them that depend on them, but that they're more doing it for themselves than the numbers. I admire that.
Luckily I think they get a lot of views/money from their backlog of existing content from people rewatching and new people starting from the beginning. So they dont have to worry much if new videos dont get a lot of views immediately.
@@OhItsGiggs Exactly. And further more, Try guys have significantly more subscribers. I could watch Sam and Keith eat and describe anything together forever and not get tired of it. Obviously I’m biased being a dropout fan but Sam is absolutely my favorite eat the menu guest so far!
It's been wild to watch Keith grow as an artist and food reviewer. I love this evolution of Eat the Menu. I was anticipating Keith getting food drunk at these high class restaurants (which would have been hilarious too) and I love that he's taking such a professional approach to these menus.
I know Sam won't read these but I do want to shout into the void that if there's going to be another season of Play it By Ear, Keith should definitely be in an episode
So cool watching the progression of this series and also the progression of Keith becoming a bonafide food critic before our very eyes! This video, and all the “Michelin” series has been fantastic. Shot so well, tasteful editing, fitting music. Amazing job team! Love watching Keith interact with the chefs. You can tell he really respects their craft and is earnestly trying to learn and listen to everything. He may not always be able to describe it well, but that’s why we love him. ONE OF US! …. Sometimes there’s no other word than simply, DAMN.
The abrupt transition from Sam reciting a haiku about the gummy spoon dessert to Keith saying "let's eat the (chocolate) stick" is the energy I needed today
Love Keith’s look! The transition from fast food to Michelin star restaurants was cool enough, but his transition from employee uniforms to these distinguished food critic looks is a really really fun aspect of my appreciation for this eat the menu evolution :)
I met Sam Reich when he was still working at CollegeHumor (2009-2010ish). He realized I had a crush on Josh Ruben and set me up on a date with him. I was an awkward, nervous mess, so the date was not very successful, but shout out to both of them for being so kind. It’s been cool to see how their careers have blossomed. :)
they will be on it soon! the behind the scenes showed keith and zach around + a running joke of FH:jy is a reference to the trypod so more than hopeful!
i really love this format. i really enjoy keith's interactions and conversations with the chefs. i wish this was picking up more views/same views as the fast food ones.
I hate this kind of pretentious "finger foods", but the smile on the young sous chef's face really make me *love* watching this episode, I watch it twice just to see that young man being proud of his works!
Woke up this morning to Try Guys announcing a new season of Phoning it in.... ...And now going to sleep after a new Eat the Menu episode. A good day indeed 😃
I have to say, the presentation game is stellar. I fully appreciate the plating as well as the serving vessels, which completes the whole experience for sure.

I think it would be super interesting! Not a lot of people know where the food in our grocery stores come from or how it's grown/made and it's always nice to help people make those connections.
I was playing this video while playing a game and my attention was taken for a bit. So I took a peek a bit and was like "SAM REICH??????" KEITH ON GAME CHANGER/MAKE SOME NOISE WHEN?
i learned so much about food and the way you can prepare it from this episode. this is genuinely what i get out of ETM - i learn SO much about how food works, whether its making everything with a couple of ingredients (taco bell) or completely reinventing basic ingredients like this!! love yall try team❤️
The segment where the chef was eating with keith was my favorite because he really knew how to describe the food in relatable ways that most normal people like keith aren't used to.
See Keith go from eating chain food in the back of a truck to watching him watch the plating at the counter has been amazing. And the tie and jacket are really nice, very appropriate to the situation. Happy to see YB get in on some of the menu as well. OG Food Baby!

the vibes of this episode *feel* like Hannibal without the cannibalism.just... good cooking and good music and the care put into the food. so happy for keith to be able to do this.
Although watching Keith trash fast food was amazing (and I rewatch often), this series is also so fun and interesting! Keith's humor and food description skills translate no matter what.
For the eat the menu tour: in Philly - check out: "Lucky's Last Chance" has the most unique burgers/hot dogs (and won National awards, there's a PB+J burger!) and "Pizza Jawn" two really unique places. And DONT DO PATS VS GENOS do a variety of cheesesteaks, with provolone (that's the true Philly way) not cheese wiz, and grilled onions. Our favorite place is Dalessandros
So I’m guessing they’re going to The French Laundry for the next one. Wonder if he’ll be joined by Monica for the desserts. Would be good to get the former pastry chef in for that
on the you can sit with us podcast, they had desiree (producer of eat the menu) on who said they tried to get in contact with the french laundry, but i don't think they managed to do so (i think they even mentioned monica also trying to connect them with her connections)
I really love this version of the show. It's nice that it's a much smaller more curated menu. Basically the opposite of the menu of Cheesecake Factory. But this Michelin series is tied with the CF for my favourite.
The chef preparing the begining dishes with the tweezers and dropper reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Marge and the kids have a food blog and go to the fancy, futuristic restaurant where the individual elements are in different test tubes and the take-out container is made from "the silk of a blueberry fed a spider"! Fascinating to watch the chef's work, it looks like an amazing place!
I have NEVER made three comments on the same video of anyone. Here I am though. Because of Keith, I would try any and all of these dishes with enthisiasm. Bravo. You have perfected Eat the Menu!

We know they have connections already!! It's time!! Ofc get Rhett and Link on there too
Chef: here’s a fruit you’ve never heard of before.
What does it taste like?
Chef: proceeds to name two other fruits I’ve never heard of before
The abrupt transition from Sam reciting a haiku about the gummy spoon dessert to Keith saying "let's eat the (chocolate) stick" is the energy I needed today
Keith on Dropout when?
What I would do for Keith to be a guest on Make Some Noise
they will be on it soon! the behind the scenes showed keith and zach around + a running joke of FH:jy is a reference to the trypod so more than hopeful!
@@fenglade which running joke?
@@fengladeooo which behinds the scene? (And trypod episode)? If you don’t mind me asking lol
So excited!
I’m loving the reaction of the chefs in the background as Keith eats!
i really love this format. i really enjoy keith's interactions and conversations with the chefs. i wish this was picking up more views/same views as the fast food ones.
I hate this kind of pretentious "finger foods", but the smile on the young sous chef's face really make me *love* watching this episode, I watch it twice just to see that young man being proud of his works!
Pretentious that's what this is!
Woke up this morning to Try Guys announcing a new season of Phoning it in....
...And now going to sleep after a new Eat the Menu episode. A good day indeed 😃
Keith's fancy version of his blue checkered shirts🟦💙🟦
I love seeing how happy the chefs in the background look
I have to say, the presentation game is stellar. I fully appreciate the plating as well as the serving vessels, which completes the whole experience for sure.
the timing of having the last guest at this moment in time is insane 😭
wdym?
@@diaryofmikuz sam reich is the ceo of dropout, and since watcher (former buzzfeed's ryan shane steven) uploaded their "goodbye youtube" video, a lot of people have been comparing what watcher is doing to what dropout has done bc dropout also releases content on their own streaming service
@@diaryofmikuz mi guess is they’re referencing the watcher channel who are under fire for deciding to leave TH-cam to start a streaming service, and have been compared to Dropout (which Sam owns). But Dropout had more content, talent and a bigger fan base when they did it
@@honoluluw But in dropouts defense they have tons of different shows with different people. And not all the content is behind the paywall AND it's all original content from the old TH-cam stuff 😢
@@grimmick9446dropout is an example of a successful jump to a paid streaming service for sure, given the amount of content they have. The boys at Watcher just said ‘hey we want that too’ despite having 1-2 shows people are interested in lmao
"I kind of thought you just pick them up off the ground" ☠😂
I would love to see a video where the team learns how to build and plant a home vegetable garden or they go visit a small family farm and learn about the produce there. I think it would be super interesting! Not a lot of people know where the food in our grocery stores come from or how it's grown/made and it's always nice to help people make those connections.
I was playing this video while playing a game and my attention was taken for a bit. So I took a peek a bit and was like "SAM REICH??????"
KEITH ON GAME CHANGER/MAKE SOME NOISE WHEN?
cant believe sam reich wasn't on for the amuse bouche section
he is the ultimate amuse bouche
hahaha that’s exactly when i expected him to show up
i learned so much about food and the way you can prepare it from this episode. this is genuinely what i get out of ETM - i learn SO much about how food works, whether its making everything with a couple of ingredients (taco bell) or completely reinventing basic ingredients like this!! love yall try team❤️
Don't over think it, Keith. Your descriptions have always been well said and approachable. You got this. *Go team swat*
Keith pushing himself to experience and describe the food in a Michelin way 👏😂
it's like...Tchaikovsky...😂 wtf, keith?! haha
It's like we're growing up together with Keith, from goofing around and fast food to being dad and Michelin worthy food. I love it 👏🏾
i've never been so early - this series has really developed from fast food to michelin stars. can't wait to see the 3 michelin star episode - and for a video of the try guys trying to replicate these fancy feasts, hehehe
It's a bit funny seeing Sam outside the game changer set😂
He's been here the whole time 😂
Like seeing your teacher at the grocery store
I needed this after all the Watcher drama. :( Thank you, Keith and team.
The hurt is sooooo real
@@grimmick9446I am still in disbelief. 😢
Same
help! the comments are full of mentions of Watcher. What is it and what happened to it??
@@swithheld9905watcher is the TH-cam channel made by Steven, Ryan and Shane after they left buzzfeed, they’ve just announced that they’ll be moving to a paywalled website for their future content which a lot of people are not massive fans of
this is the first and only michelin/upscale restaurant menu ive seen so far that actually looks edible and delicious. would love to plan a trip there
A Dropout Try Guys crossover would be nice
They either have or will be on Um, Actually IIRC
@@agorski38 Um actually, they will be later this season
I would loveee a mini D20 series featuring the Try Guys and Try Friends
@@agorski38Um, Actually, Zach was one of the contestants in Um, Actually back in 2018.
@@buffienguyen Try Guys try Blood on the Clocktower! would be fantastic if they could get a bunch of them together + try wives to play a game. I'd die to see Jonny spiral as he plays a villian character. Matt would win it all. if they could get eugene back too - amazing.
Rachel & @NoobsontheGooftower, you're all in LA...please make this happen!
Thank-you for not putting this behind a pay wall. Love this series ❤️
Fast foods chains to Michelin star restaurants veryyy exciting
loved the sous chef at the start, well spoken, knew very well what he was doing (of course)
Shoutout to you guys for having this ready for the holiday. Happy 4/20 everyone
Ngl was secretly hoping for a smoke show episode for today but this is an amazing video choice
@@amanda2296 exactly my thought process. Was hoping there’d be a smoke show episode, and now I’m eating chicken wings with Keith
5:41 shout out the the Michelin star restaurant using Gojo figures as decor.
so amazing to see Keith highlight this new age of fine dining! So much hard work and finesse to create such creative & beautiful food! He’s living the dream🤩 Can’t wait for 3 star episode!
The evolution of cooking from your latest catch over a hand-built fire to this is utterly fascinating and delightful to me.
HELLO, THE JUJUSTU KAISEN FIGURINES IN THE BACKGROUND AT AROUND 3:56?? Gojo has truly made it in the world. 😂
But on a more serious note, I love this because so many people make fun of fancy restaurants. But this shows why going to them is worthwhile, even if you only go once ever.
the vibes of this episode *feel* like Hannibal without the cannibalism.just... good cooking and good music and the care put into the food. so happy for keith to be able to do this.
Although watching Keith trash fast food was amazing (and I rewatch often), this series is also so fun and interesting!
Keith's humor and food description skills translate no matter what.
For the eat the menu tour:
in Philly - check out: "Lucky's Last Chance" has the most unique burgers/hot dogs (and won National awards, there's a PB+J burger!) and "Pizza Jawn" two really unique places.
And DONT DO PATS VS GENOS do a variety of cheesesteaks, with provolone (that's the true Philly way) not cheese wiz, and grilled onions.
Our favorite place is Dalessandros
also, keith, you’ve gotten so great at describing food 🖤🖤
I know it's been several episodes now, but I LOVE Keith's glasses! Lookin sharp my guy!
So I’m guessing they’re going to The French Laundry for the next one. Wonder if he’ll be joined by Monica for the desserts. Would be good to get the former pastry chef in for that
on the you can sit with us podcast, they had desiree (producer of eat the menu) on who said they tried to get in contact with the french laundry, but i don't think they managed to do so (i think they even mentioned monica also trying to connect them with her connections)
he said they're going to SF for the 3 star michelin restaurant ep, so that only leaves 3 options: Quince, Benu, or Atelier Crenn.
@@eeva_321 ahhh that’s a shame. Good to see they thought along the same lines as we did
This is just Keith’s channel now and I’m here for it
I love that Keith & Sam have the same reaction! 😊
Love the staff eating along!
I really love this version of the show. It's nice that it's a much smaller more curated menu. Basically the opposite of the menu of Cheesecake Factory. But this Michelin series is tied with the CF for my favourite.
I wonder how the chef feels when they put so much effort into these dishes and Keith says it reminds me of a tiny sandwich 🤪
I don't know how you did it , but you got freaking SAM REICH!!!! The crossover I never knew I needed. Sam does like his fine dining.
the musical references to how the food feels makes me understand it so much better thats incredible i love it sm
I love watching this while eating saltines and drinking tap water
The chef preparing the begining dishes with the tweezers and dropper reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Marge and the kids have a food blog and go to the fancy, futuristic restaurant where the individual elements are in different test tubes and the take-out container is made from "the silk of a blueberry fed a spider"! Fascinating to watch the chef's work, it looks like an amazing place!
Keith: *eats at Michelin star restaurant*
Me: *watches in kitchen eating buttered bread*
I have NEVER made three comments on the same video of anyone. Here I am though. Because of Keith, I would try any and all of these dishes with enthisiasm. Bravo. You have perfected Eat the Menu!
you guys better not be getting any of silly ideas into yalls heads from the stunt Watcher just pulled. we appreciate you, we watch your ads, keep the good stuff coming
How could you possibly think that ANYBODY would do the same as Watcher having seen the response they're getting?
I cannot emphasize how much I’m loving these videos. Would love to see more. Doesn’t necessarily have to be Michelin star, but maybe just small chef-owned restaurants with great food and great stories. Love hearing the backstory of the dishes and the restaurant.
I sure would love a game changer episode with the Try Guys
me out loud looking through the beginning "IS THAT SAM REICH?"
Everyone's talking about Sam but as always: great to see YB, always like her vibe in these tpe of videos.
Love seeing Keith jazzed and happy at the end of one of these!
