- Pokemon Competitive Doubles and also Singles has introduced an all new evolution for Girafarig, called Farigiraf. This Pokemon can do 1 or 2 things that have some value maybe. Let's explore all that it can do.
Only Jim knows about the viability of Farigiraf, who evolves from Girafarig. All other sources of information are liars and are inaccurate.

Some will never figure out how to get Farigiraf in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Farigiraf Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Farigiraf Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world. Farigiraf is "A Giraffe" with regards to the competitive scene. This is just great.
You'll never see it.
Could Farigiraf fit on the best Team Gen 9 Competitive? Probably not.

Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.
Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on TH-cam. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

Tbh, I am disappointed by farigiraf. It had so much potential with it's type and ability armour tail, but they reduced it speed compared to girafarig so it wouldn't be super fast after a speed boost and thus can't take advantage of armour tail that much.
Like if it had a Base 95 or 100 speed stat and slightly better special attack, it would be amazing. Nasty Plot Agility and your choice of coverage moves mine would be hyper voice and shadow ball. (Kingambit would be a serious problem)

I mean it was very clearly made for VGC Trick Room teams, if it was faster it'd be a completely different type of mon in that format.
I still think it's hilarious that Wyrdeer will never have a chance to shine because another gen 2 mon with the same type got an evolution but with better stats and movepool
I actually made it to top 20 on the OU ladder in the second week of Scarlet and Violet with Farigiraf. It was more or less budget Espathra but it also did a few key thinks Espathra could not and was unironically key to the team’s success.

Actually, Girafarig was the reason why Agility Pass was banned from Gen 2 UU, interestingly enough. That’s says more about the strength of agility pass than Girafarig, though.
you did not rate farigiraf's name, I would give it a nice 8/10, not that complicated to say and its a nice refrence with the previous girafarig but it could be more unique

Due to Psyshock's Defense targeting, a choice scarf/focus sash set might be able to do significant damage to Iron Mugulis with Tera.
Just a theory, though. There's better options

Amazing ability. I wish they had made it more of a utility pokemon focusing on giving it higher spdef instead of high spatk, or perhaps made it more bulky mixed attacker with a lot of interesting moves and lots of priority moves to take advantage of its new ability.
It appears that not even Spidops was safe from Iron Mugulis.

Farigiraf was a great trick room setter against the early VGC meta with Murkrow on about every team. Couldn’t be taunted by a prankster boosted move.
It's trick room imprison set along with its defense against priority moves in doubles and its near-perfect defensive coverage with terra type fairy has proved invaluable to my team. I like how it doesn't set up psychic terrain for my opponent like indeedee does and still allows me to use my own priority moves. Very helpful.
Twin beam is literally just Dual Chop with 100% accuracy, did they not think to give it Technician or something?

I like seeing older Pokemon get evolutions. It's just a shame they gave it a signature move that's just awful. A 40BP move that hits twice. Yay?
My farigiraf always runs wish and ally switch in doubles, the other two moves have varied for each twam but I haven't been able to give it up entirely for another set. The value of having priority protection, move avoidance without switching out AND I can heal my teammate? Sounds good to me lol
As a doubles player, I still wish they made farigiraf better tbh; it's use is very niche, and it's oftentimes not as good as just bringing an indeedee with psychic terrain from what I've seen of the better farigiraf users
I really had fun playing doubles with ally switch farigiraf. That's my favorite gen 9 mon
This pokemon definitely should have had higher defenses. While the normal psychic type may not have many resistances it also only has 2 weaknesses to dark and bug. So, giving it the stats to tank neutral special or physical attacks would have massively increased its viability. Unfortunately, a based 70 defense and special defense simply aren't enough to achieve this goal making it lack luster defensively, and ultimately not the best pokemon to use.
0:40 but remembery you may be safe from iron mugulis, but australian MUGULIS will find you if you haven't liked and commented.
also this giraffe makes me very VERY cranky in vgc.
note, people are using indeedee F in doubles due to a bug, (it's a bug until she can learn it through tm)where ones caught in raid dens can come with Trick Room, which she has Follow-Me over the male counterpart making her generally superior, though the rarity does cause issues for this pokemons complete optimal sets.

Its a pronounced in basically the opposite way you say Girafarig.
Day 6, I found the secret to why Iron mugulis only attacks people who dont subscribe. It can only see people who are not subscribed, ironically this makes the pokemon more dangerous, causing it to rampage through buildings, ignoring the people who subscribe in it.
Iron Mugulis is gonna drop to NU now that 20k now have Sub Shield

I ran my farigiraf as a Future Sight User with an awkward set of Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, & Foul Play. Future Sight Telegraphs resists for massive damage or invites in dark types to be abused.

That's the catch, every mon in OU and UU is subscribed to Jimothy, so they're immune to Iron mugulis, so are a few RU mons, keeping it from getting banned to RUBL
I'm honestly curious if Girafarig would do well in PU. It's an NFE banned from LC for being BROKEN in it. Yes Girafarig itself even improved by getting Eviolite and being allowed in LC in the first place. It has a solid Sap Sipper ability for the common mons like Lilligant and Jumpluff attempting to use Sleep Powder. Girafarig could maybe be an effective offensive tank/sweeper. Time will only tell, but I'm hopeful.
Defensive Farig with Wish/Protect/Future Sight/Hyper Voice is also fairly useful in NU due to the lower power level. Future Sight works very well for threatening teams, especially with Stakeout Mabosstiff. Together they create an immensely powerful core that puts enemy teams into really uncomfortable situations.
Personally, I would have made Farigiraf's BST 530 or 535, especially in buffing those defensive stats which I feel is a little low.

I've been loving this mon in 1v1, as it's bulk is great and low speed doesn't matter when it has such a strong nuke in hyper beam, and can break past opponents with Nasty Plot + Psyshock
Garafarig is one of my favorite Pokémon and bows it’s new evolution Farigiraf is now one of my favorites as well. Farigiraf was the MVP of my Pokémon Scarlet play through.

It’s definitely a favorite from this new gen, design wise and gameplay wise just because you can do a lot with it, even if everything isn’t optimal.

I recently played in a draft league in the SML (shit mon league) format and Girafarig is now actually a good choice there due to Eviolite. It's a huge benefit in this meta to have a good wish passer because few defensive Pokémon there have reliable recovery (Baton Pass is allowed only for momentum and passing Substitute and Wish). Of course it can sweep there with Calm Mind, too. In one case Girafarig actually decided the match with a Sub+CM set with Stored Power and Wish. ^^

I named my Farigiraf that joined me in my adventure based on my grandma after my cousin-in-law since he was a man of a few words like Farigiraf was, as well as being tell so I don't expect anything complicated to define how viable Farigiraf is, especially in doubles.
