Personally, i dislike if the patty been cut in the middle as it will make the patty too 'dry-hard' and lost it beef flavour and juice (but alot of Malaysians prefer anything becomes crispy. Prefer either half or medium cooked patty the, patty will become tender and juicy.

That time, thats how i cooked my selling burgers. That time, no mayo, with home-made sauce. If not mistaken, so called 'cut in the middle' style started early 90s or mid 90s. Not much (almost none exist) myglobin lefted in patty, unlike fresh steak.
@@arizalshah3853 im 42 years old..i also did my part in sellin those burger when i was a teen..but the stall was not mine..belong to my cousin..i dont know bout the 80s..but as far as i remember in 90s almost all the burger stall did cut the patty in the middle..bcoz older generation at dat time will not eat if the meat still red..mayo at dat time is the choice of customer..we as the seller need to ask the cutomer 1st if they want mayo or not which if im not mistaken 90% of them at that time dont want..the most popular burger double patty n xtra white pepper..the chili sauce also spicy not sweet as nowadays..
